Shout out to all the amazing devs that do not include missable trophies. With no missable trophies, you can play a game normally and enjoy it till you are done. Then, if you still want to play more of it, you can simply look at the trophy list and go for the plat. No worries, no mind games, no regrets. :D

@@HUYI1 Agreed. The point is to let the gamer enjoy themselves. You can play hard or easy. Different gamers have different preferences. I like the enjoyment of exploration without the frustration of difficulty. I only have one difficult plat and that is in Bloodborne, and honestly if it weren't for the option of having random people come into your game and assist you, I wouldn't have continued playing the game at all. That would have been a shame since the lore in that game was amazing to me. But the difficulty was a barrier. Thankfully awesome players helped me through it and I still got to enjoy the lore of that game's world.
I always look up if a game has any missable trophies before starting it. I also check if there are any online trophies beforehand because I never pay for online and if that takes up a majority of the list that game can jog on
This is one of the main reasons I stopped caring about collecting trophies so much. Checking for missables ended up spoiling games for me and it was impacting my enjoyment of them. Now I'll play it through completely blind, and if I've really enjoyed it by the end I'll have a look at the list and consider completing it based on how much effort it'll take and if it'll stop me enjoying the game

I just got my 20th platinum last night with Final Fantasy 7 Remake and I literally screamed when I split Pride and Joy in half with Cloud's Braver Slash and the Trophy appeared! And next up is Horizon Forbidden West with Resident Evil 8 off in the distance - Yeah I love trophies
I love Horizon 1, it was the first game I went back and replayed to get the plat so went into 2 knowing I wanted that too. My ten pence worth is turn on the 'easy loot' and consider playing on easy for the 'The Enduring' & any arena battles you are struggling with. I did them all on normal, fully upgraded all weapons etc. and felt burnt out by the end only to realise it made no difference and how easily most people got them with the above.
Def not obsessed. I’ve just planned my 200th plat, estimated the time to get the 200th plat based on my irl schedule, ordered a two layer cake for the estimated pop date, and sent out invitations to all of my friend and family to celebrate. Definitely not obsessed, not at all.
I'm not obsessed with platinums but I do love my trophies. I know that for the fact that when trying to decide whether to get a simple platformer on switch or ps5, the trophies does make a difference.
Having a excel file dedicated to mark down each spell, miracles, rings and emote for the soul series is fair for trophy hunting after you beat the game normally.
I have one for Elden Ring, and the other souls games, and I had a 9 page one for Star Ocean The Last Hope, the most ridiculous trophy hunt of a game I've ever done. In fact I've done most of these in the video at some point!
Never cared much for trophies until the pandemic started and I fell in love with Persona 5. I fully dedicated myself to platting it and have since platted like 30 more games, safe to say this video spoke to me.

As a long time access viewer who's always been a trophy hunter, I am so thrilled you finally jumped on the trophy train! If I remember correctly, a trophy themed Friday Feature was what got me into Access. They have always been talked about, but only as a minor topic inbetween. But now, you begin to see how people like me approach games. 😂
I am obsessed with trophy hunting since 2014. Yes I start super slow and only on my favorite games back then, until I did gta v platinum and then I never stopped popping trophies in all sorts of games. I don't just do the platinum, but also I do the dlc trophies as well. I started to play for the fun and my account was like 10.1% of games completion and now it's at 41% completion. Not good but also not bad. And also a few hard trophies no one ever could of think off! Platinums are real fun but I think I want to stop and start playing for the fun again.

I didn't think that much about trophy hunting until one day on my PS3 realised I was only one trophy away from a platinum. I thought "Might as well give it a shot" and succeeded, and the rest is history. :P

I still blame you lot for my platinum addiction lol. I was very happy, thank you very much, just carrying on with my five platinums in 2019, with several games being close but I wasn't really thinking of platinuming them. My first was Shadow of Mordor and my latest was Bloodborne. I was mighty proud of myself. Then I saw Dave win his first platinum, Horizon Zero Dawn, which was my personal second. After that Nathan and Rosie had this competition of whom has the most. I started to platinum those games I was close in finishing off. I ended 2019 with 5, but I started 2020 with a bang with 9 within the first two months. Then it got slow, then quarantine hit and, well, I had nothing better to do and added 18 more by the end of the year. Trying to have more than Nathan and Rosie at least. No easy 1 hour or 30 min platinums, all major titles and some that took more than a 100 hours to achieve. I'm currently sitting at 47, but I'm not ashamed. I'm proud of them, because there are no easy ones and because I love every game I've platinumed so far. Now I'm going to venture into accepting games with multiplayer trophies, an area I normally avoid, but now I welcome the added challenge. Thanks for the addiction Playstation Access. Keep being great!
I'm guilty of this. I kind of have a fun obsession with getting trophies and platinums. Of course only if I truly enjoy a game though and if I don't struggle with them because let's face it there's quite a bit of them that can be a real nightmare.
For looking at the trophy list before you play, I take it a step further. I also check the list online to see if there are any missable tophies. Saves me from having to replay to get them the first time around. That way, when I replay the game, I can go at my own pace and not keep thinking "Did I miss doing such and such" for the trophy. And I am also guilty of playing multi player as a solo for trophies. In fact, I did it today for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. For the trading and reviving another player. Huzzah for playstation remote play.
I'm an old gamer and i can state categorically i've never went looking for trophies. In fact, i'm always surprised when i win one.....but a trophy win is usually met with a dismissive shrug and soon forgotten. :)
I do all of these except the first one. I instead look up a trophy guide and just look at the difficulty rating and if there is missable trophies. It helps avoid spoilers, although once I’ve played a decent amount of a game I will eventually start to browse the trophy list lol. Sooo I do kinda do the first lol. It really is a sickness that I wish I could be cured of!
I think my best/worst case of bending the rules was for DOOM 2016. Having to complete the first level on Ultra-Nightmare mode. Wasn't happening so I cheesed the level physics and hopped around the mountain until the end of the level. There were some great views on top of the building at least haha.
I have 47 so its safe to say im pretty addicted lmao. I used to be obsessed (auto-popping/cheap plats) but now ive calmed down and i just do it because i enjoy it. Currently im trying to clean out my backlog of shorter & easier plats so i can work on longer games since they take so much time.
I'm definitely guilty of scrolling through the trophy list beforehand, but not to the point of revealing hidden trophies because I don't want to get the game spoiled. Also, I'm really starting to feel like one of the few people who actually loves mahjong.
I can sympathize about not having/knowing anyone to enjoy Mahjong with, except for me it's Canasta. It's so much fun, but I'm stuck always playing against the A.I.- if I can even find the game in the first place! 😮💨😪
I love a good spreadsheet when trophy hunting. I had one for Bloodborne to keep track of what weapons I had picked up and what level I was at/ need to hit for bosses (over levelled everytime, of course)
I go off the Rob philosophy in that I like to Platinum games almost as a love letter to say “I like you so much I’m going to do all I can”. The one thing I like to do is look up “Missable” trophies and make note. From there I play as normal with those few things in mind. But yes, I love me some trophies!!
Tip for the Mayo platinum trophy You can get to 10,000 quicker by tapping X with one thumb and the touch pad with the other thumb , they both count as a touch on the Mayo jar and you've just turned that 2 hour platinum into a 1 hour platinum :)
I have done every single one of these and more. I have even played through an entire game I didn't like just so I could get the platinum ( I also was hoping it would get better and it never did for me)
VodSquad here! I can actually say that I have none of these symptoms. The only Plat I have 'planned' to get is Elden Ring, and that was just because the final boss annoyed me so much. I saw that I only had three trophies left to get so I decided that this game was not going to beat me - I was going to beat it. My love of RPGs pretty much ended my trophy hunting, as some _Platinums_ require you to make thoroughly despicable in-game choices (usually to get bad endings) and I can't bring myself to do it XD
wife goes away for a week, me: 60 to 70 hours closer to red dead 2 platinum 😁. 13 years and over 10000 trophies I would call that more than an addiction. Great video as always.
This is just a saying, if having 9999 platinum’s I would say that is addictive yes, but anything under the 2000 platinum’s is not addictive I have 1097 platinum’s I’m not addicted, if I think I can platinum the game I will, if I can’t because of the online trophies I won’t, online trophies are turn off for me I try to avoid those at all costs lol
I'm only one NG+ play though away from the Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1, Kiwami 2 and 3 Trophies. I plan on getting them all in order after I play though all of them once so I can have them all in a row. Course that means I have to play 4 and 5 three times total for that one trophy but hey it's Yakuza, it's worth it. Also I have the Platinum for Fist of the North Star lost Paradise. Actually here's a new obsession sign, wanting to unlock Platinum's in a specific order, just to show off.
I noticed that replaying a game where you already have a platinum isn't that fun anymore, because you know that no matter what you do, you will never get that relaxing sound from a trophy popping up😅
I sometimes check trophies online before I even get the game to see which ones I can acquire on the way. With emphasis on "on the way" though. I'm not going out of my way trying things for hours or playing on hard mode (unless it's like my fourth New Game+ and I am so overlevelled that even the hardest mode is no challenge anymore) just to get trophies. I have My Name Is Mayo - saw it on PlayStation Access before and back then I was obsessed with those tapping games, I must have tried dozens on my phone before, so I downloaded that one to my Vita as well.
A really core element to a lot of trophy hunting especially for platinums would be trying to track down people to play games with dead online communities via trophy hunting forums or something to get the online trophies. It's not hard per se but it requires going so far out of one's own way to do it that it is definitely a sign of obsession.
Straight to a trophy website, find out if the platinum is considered time consuming, difficulty level of said plat, any missable trophies , work out my plan of action - get a roadmap up, if one exists and off I go lol I don't trophy hunt as much as I use to but I still have to check every game I purchase for trophy requirements.. it's like a bad habit! lol Missable trophies and the odd hidden missable trophies are the devil though! especially if they don't have a free roam after for any potential clean ups :(
I've done most of these but am proud to admit I've never bought a game specifically for the easy completion. I'll check out the list of cheap games I'm interested in and how tedious the list is may sway whether or not I buy it but if I'm not interested in the first place I don't even bother to look up the list. Also, revealing hidden trophies would be done less often if developers would stop putting missable or what I like to call "why would I ever do that" trophies as hidden.
I have not got the platinum for My Name Is Mayo. The game glitched and wouldn't register one of the lesser tropies, so no platinum. I've thought about trying to fix it, but I think this elevates me to a more exclusive group of gamers - thos with My Name is Mayo who HAEVN'T platinumed it. However, I did complete My Name Is Mayo 2 without any troubles, and had quite a feeling of satisfaction when that platinum dinged.

Right before seeing the notification for this I was browsing through my games and realized I wasn't looking for one I wanted to sit and enjoy I was looking for what platinum I wanted to work on...
Here's one for the ages. I got tired of waiting on my co-op partner to be available for it takes two that I actually beat the game by myself. I had both controllers next to me on the couch and I would just rapidly switch between the controllers to advance the game. There were a few sections I honestly didn't think I would be able to complete but I brute forced it.
My very first platinum trophy was for a Tell-Tale game and I felt so dirty that I got it. It was... too easy? The ones that I'm proud of? FFXV, the first that I put in the work for and Fenyx Rising - I definitely worked around stuff to get that one.
I can admit to 4 of these; I've done the Mass Effect Move Spam before for the PS3 Trilogy Release and I definitely made a roadmap for how I was going get everything in South Park Stick of Truth with as few playthroughs as possible. Also I completed a game I was really let down by just because the Trophy list looked (and was) really easy. (ManEater, for the Record) and of course, the endless side quests and menial tasks that went towards getting Platinum's in Skyrim on PS3 and PS4.
I will set up specific "Platinum Screenshots". Like I'll take a cool screenshot in the game, and just as I get the last trophy for the Platinum I'll open the screenshot so that it screenshots that.
I came very close to addiction, luckily I got pulled away by PC gaming for a good while. After that I never got back into it, and honestly looking back at it now I don't see the point at all. I think when I was younger I couldn't afford so many games, so I used the trophy list as a way to extend my game time with each purchase and to convince myself that I'd extracted enough value from it. Nowadays though it's just a pointless ticker that keeps going up in the background, I couldn't be bothered less.
Devil May Cry 5 is probably the game that REALLY showed me how obsessed I am with trophy. I love good hack n' slays and always complain about the lack of them on the market. But yet here I am looking at DMC 5 on my shelf for 2 years now, not having the guts to start it, because I am scared I am not good enough to complete Worthy of Legend. Despite having completed all other DMCs. Because that way I can always tell myself, if I ever really put my mind to it, I can complete it. And don't have to face the fact that I can't if I actually can't. Oh, come on, you know exactly what I'm talking about!
1:54 Go figure that just after I manage to snag a second-hand copy of Yakuza: Dead Souls for the PS3, it features in a Friday Feature. Even if it's just its trophy list.
I always check the lists on psn profiles and then look at road maps to determine the difficulties before deciding if I am good enough to get through it or not.
All of them for me although I don't look at hidden trophies until I've done at least one playthrough of the game & I don't count duplicates. I do a few duplicates including Outlast & Alan Wake but I only count the plat once so I still have tiny bit of control over my obsession. Now to go work on my 53rd plat
Ohh I am obsessed all right...I played so hard to get the platinum for showing my dedication and love for the game. All the plat trophies of my favourite games just make me feel...satisfied. However, there are some games that are hard for me to get. I need a break away from NSR at the moment. And I will! I said I will! Get the 'Master yourself, master the enemy' trophy to complete it🔥🔥🔥
Doing things I don’t want to do can be useful. In FFXV I was forced to go fishing for the Platinum. I always hated fishing in games but after that experience I can understand why people love it so much. Still not my thing but I understand it better now.
Making a list for future platinums and actually doing them and also researching the trophies for the game you want to play and platinum before buying the actual game.
Trophy hunting made gaming a chore for me..til I started playing through a game normally first, and then going through the list after I finished the game. Now I’m enjoying all of it again :)
I sometimes don't start or false start games I've bought because I know I can't put the time in to complete (get all the trophies) for them. 😅 Looking at you Fallout 4, Ghost of Tsushima, Dark Souls 3, The Witcher 3 and Final Fantasy XV. Those are just the physical games I've bought. There are probably the same number again on my external hard drive.
This video resonates with me. Specifically I'm obsessed with collecting platinums. Multiplayer trophies are the worst and they often decide if i get the game at all. If a game is multiplayer only, nope. Servers are down, nope. Multiplayer trophy has a low achieving percentage, nope.
I'll get the plat if I love the game and it makes sense. Like in GoW, first playthrough I just enjoyed myself, I only wanted to max my build and explore. Just doing that got me about 90% of the trophies. So after checking the trophies I missed, I'm playing Ng+ with a guide because I will explore the map but I can't be bothered to track all the ravens and lore markers that can easily be missed.
After the PS2, I jumped ship and bought my games mainly for the Xbox 360 as most of my friends had one at the time - I had a PS3 for exclusives, but mainly focused on Xbox achievements. It wasn't until I got the PS4 and my friend was telling me about all the Platinum Trophies he had that my competitive nature took over - he had tonnes from his time playing his PS3 and I had none! 140 Platinum Trophies on, I'm winning, but he's close behind on 138 haha!
I have 12 or 13 platinum trophies (technically all achievements). I see them as the same thing, if you don't agree i dont care lol. I have no intention of slowing down lol. I manage to do the alien breed multiplayer trophy (achievement) meant for 2 players on my own by using a rubberband to keep the shooting button pressed in at all the times, placing controller 1 in one spot like behind a door so the aliens would bundle up when attacking. Me with my own controller walking forward to trigger the attack, going back to back to controller 1 standing behind and keep shooting always. And keep going like that for the entire level, it took like 3 times longer then iy was supposed too but it did work lol

How about primarily single player games that have like one or two online ones that will screw you out of a Platinum? Uggggggggh

Yes I start super slow and only on my favorite games back then, until I did gta v platinum and then I never stopped popping trophies in all sorts of games. I don't just do the platinum, but also I do the dlc trophies as well. I started to play for the fun and my account was like 10.1% of games completion and now it's at 41% completion. Not good but also not bad. And also a few hard trophies no one ever could of think off! Platinums are real fun but I think I want to stop and start playing for the fun again.

I didn't think that much about trophy hunting until one day on my PS3 realised I was only one trophy away from a platinum. I thought "Might as well give it a shot" and succeeded, and the rest is history. :P

I only got obsessed with Trophy hunting after I got my first plat on FFV and a few trophies for KH3 and RDR2. I've only got a few plats...but the sense of accomplishment is always nice.
I still blame you lot for my platinum addiction lol. I was very happy, thank you very much, just carrying on with my five platinums in 2019, with several games being close but I wasn't really thinking of platinuming them. My first was Shadow of Mordor and my latest was Bloodborne. I was mighty proud of myself. Then I saw Dave win his first platinum, Horizon Zero Dawn, which was my personal second. After that Nathan and Rosie had this competition of whom has the most. I started to platinum those games I was close in finishing off. I ended 2019 with 5, but I started 2020 with a bang with 9 within the first two months. Then it got slow, then quarantine hit and, well, I had nothing better to do and added 18 more by the end of the year. Trying to have more than Nathan and Rosie at least. No easy 1 hour or 30 min platinums, all major titles and some that took more than a 100 hours to achieve. I'm currently sitting at 47, but I'm not ashamed. I'm proud of them, because there are no easy ones and because I love every game I've platinumed so far. Now I'm going to venture into accepting games with multiplayer trophies, an area I normally avoid, but now I welcome the added challenge. Thanks for the addiction Playstation Access. Keep being great!
I'm guilty of this. I kind of have a fun obsession with getting trophies and platinums. Of course only if I truly enjoy a game though and if I don't struggle with them because let's face it there's quite a bit of them that can be a real nightmare.

I don’t know how I knew this would happen, but I knew Rob’s immediate Platinum from Hitman was gonna pop up as an example.
For looking at the trophy list before you play, I take it a step further. I also check the list online to see if there are any missable tophies. Saves me from having to replay to get them the first time around. That way, when I replay the game, I can go at my own pace and not keep thinking "Did I miss doing such and such" for the trophy. And I am also guilty of playing multi player as a solo for trophies. In fact, I did it today for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. For the trading and reviving another player. Huzzah for playstation remote play.
Glad I'm not obsessed with trophy hunting. I only have a few platinums and that's because I enjoyed myself doing what it took to get them.

I'm an old gamer and i can state categorically i've never went looking for trophies. In fact, i'm always surprised when i win one.....but a trophy win is usually met with a dismissive shrug and soon forgotten. :)
The first thing i do when i load up a game is checking for difficulty related trophies.
I do all of these except the first one. I instead look up a trophy guide and just look at the difficulty rating and if there is missable trophies. It helps avoid spoilers, although once I’ve played a decent amount of a game I will eventually start to browse the trophy list lol. Sooo I do kinda do the first lol. It really is a sickness that I wish I could be cured of!

I think my best/worst case of bending the rules was for DOOM 2016. Having to complete the first level on Ultra-Nightmare mode. Wasn't happening so I cheesed the level physics and hopped around the mountain until the end of the level. There were some great views on top of the building at least haha.
I have 47 so its safe to say im pretty addicted lmao. I used to be obsessed (auto-popping/cheap plats) but now ive calmed down and i just do it because i enjoy it. Currently im trying to clean out my backlog of shorter & easier plats so i can work on longer games since they take so much time.

I'm definitely guilty of scrolling through the trophy list beforehand, but not to the point of revealing hidden trophies because I don't want to get the game spoiled. Also, I'm really starting to feel like one of the few people who actually loves mahjong.
I can sympathize about not having/knowing anyone to enjoy Mahjong with, except for me it's Canasta. It's so much fun, but I'm stuck always playing against the A.I.- if I can even find the game in the first place! 😮💨😪

I love a good spreadsheet when trophy hunting. I had one for Bloodborne to keep track of what weapons I had picked up and what level I was at/ need to hit for bosses (over levelled everytime, of course)

I go off the Rob philosophy in that I like to Platinum games almost as a love letter to say “I like you so much I’m going to do all I can”. The one thing I like to do is look up “Missable” trophies and make note. From there I play as normal with those few things in mind. But yes, I love me some trophies!!

Tip for the Mayo platinum trophy
You can get to 10,000 quicker by tapping X with one thumb and the touch pad with the other thumb , they both count as a touch on the Mayo jar and you've just turned that 2 hour platinum into a 1 hour platinum :)

I have done every single one of these and more. I have even played through an entire game I didn't like just so I could get the platinum ( I also was hoping it would get better and it never did for me)

VodSquad here! I can actually say that I have none of these symptoms. The only Plat I have 'planned' to get is Elden Ring, and that was just because the final boss annoyed me so much. I saw that I only had three trophies left to get so I decided that this game was not going to beat me - I was going to beat it. My love of RPGs pretty much ended my trophy hunting, as some _Platinums_ require you to make thoroughly despicable in-game choices (usually to get bad endings) and I can't bring myself to do it XD
wife goes away for a week, me: 60 to 70 hours closer to red dead 2 platinum 😁. 13 years and over 10000 trophies I would call that more than an addiction. Great video as always.
This is just a saying, if having 9999 platinum’s I would say that is addictive yes, but anything under the 2000 platinum’s is not addictive I have 1097 platinum’s I’m not addicted, if I think I can platinum the game I will, if I can’t because of the online trophies I won’t, online trophies are turn off for me I try to avoid those at all costs lol
I got a bit obsessed with platinum hunting at the beginning of lockdown but thankfully I calmed down now.
I'm only one NG+ play though away from the Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1, Kiwami 2 and 3 Trophies. I plan on getting them all in order after I play though all of them once so I can have them all in a row. Course that means I have to play 4 and 5 three times total for that one trophy but hey it's Yakuza, it's worth it. Also I have the Platinum for Fist of the North Star lost Paradise. Actually here's a new obsession sign, wanting to unlock Platinum's in a specific order, just to show off.
I noticed that replaying a game where you already have a platinum isn't that fun anymore, because you know that no matter what you do, you will never get that relaxing sound from a trophy popping up😅
I sometimes check trophies online before I even get the game to see which ones I can acquire on the way. With emphasis on "on the way" though. I'm not going out of my way trying things for hours or playing on hard mode (unless it's like my fourth New Game+ and I am so overlevelled that even the hardest mode is no challenge anymore) just to get trophies.
I have My Name Is Mayo - saw it on PlayStation Access before and back then I was obsessed with those tapping games, I must have tried dozens on my phone before, so I downloaded that one to my Vita as well.
A really core element to a lot of trophy hunting especially for platinums would be trying to track down people to play games with dead online communities via trophy hunting forums or something to get the online trophies. It's not hard per se but it requires going so far out of one's own way to do it that it is definitely a sign of obsession.
Straight to a trophy website, find out if the platinum is considered time consuming, difficulty level of said plat, any missable trophies , work out my plan of action - get a roadmap up, if one exists and off I go lol I don't trophy hunt as much as I use to but I still have to check every game I purchase for trophy requirements.. it's like a bad habit! lol
Missable trophies and the odd hidden missable trophies are the devil though! especially if they don't have a free roam after for any potential clean ups :(
I've done most of these but am proud to admit I've never bought a game specifically for the easy completion. I'll check out the list of cheap games I'm interested in and how tedious the list is may sway whether or not I buy it but if I'm not interested in the first place I don't even bother to look up the list.
Also, revealing hidden trophies would be done less often if developers would stop putting missable or what I like to call "why would I ever do that" trophies as hidden.

I have not got the platinum for My Name Is Mayo. The game glitched and wouldn't register one of the lesser tropies, so no platinum. I've thought about trying to fix it, but I think this elevates me to a more exclusive group of gamers - thos with My Name is Mayo who HAEVN'T platinumed it. However, I did complete My Name Is Mayo 2 without any troubles, and had quite a feeling of satisfaction when that platinum dinged.

I’m guilty of a few of these-especially looking at the trophy list to see what I’m up against-basically to find out if I’ll be able to earn them, and to look up the hidden trophies so I don’t miss out on them.

I used to just play games to finish them with a few plats thanks to my completionist mentality. Now I have the bug from watching the Platimonday streams and currently playing through my older games which only have a few trophies left.
Just want to call out that Wayne's world reference. Awesome stuff! I too feel that access has got me addicted to plat hunting. To the point where every ps5 game I own has been platted before move to the next one.
Right before seeing the notification for this I was browsing through my games and realized I wasn't looking for one I wanted to sit and enjoy I was looking for what platinum I wanted to work on...
Here's one for the ages. I got tired of waiting on my co-op partner to be available for it takes two that I actually beat the game by myself. I had both controllers next to me on the couch and I would just rapidly switch between the controllers to advance the game. There were a few sections I honestly didn't think I would be able to complete but I brute forced it.
Am kind of in the middle, am not obsessed with trophies but it is fun to go after them sometimes.
I’m going for the platinum for Lego Skywalker saga. It’s currently my favourite Lego game and my first platinum was Lego marvel superheroes
My very first platinum trophy was for a Tell-Tale game and I felt so dirty that I got it. It was... too easy? The ones that I'm proud of? FFXV, the first that I put in the work for and Fenyx Rising - I definitely worked around stuff to get that one.
I can admit to 4 of these; I've done the Mass Effect Move Spam before for the PS3 Trilogy Release and I definitely made a roadmap for how I was going get everything in South Park Stick of Truth with as few playthroughs as possible. Also I completed a game I was really let down by just because the Trophy list looked (and was) really easy. (ManEater, for the Record) and of course, the endless side quests and menial tasks that went towards getting Platinum's in Skyrim on PS3 and PS4.

Like I'll take a cool screenshot in the game, and just as I get the last trophy for the Platinum I'll open the screenshot so that it screenshots that.
I came very close to addiction, luckily I got pulled away by PC gaming for a good while. After that I never got back into it, and honestly looking back at it now I don't see the point at all. I think when I was younger I couldn't afford so many games, so I used the trophy list as a way to extend my game time with each purchase and to convince myself that I'd extracted enough value from it. Nowadays though it's just a pointless ticker that keeps going up in the background, I couldn't be bothered less.
Devil May Cry 5 is probably the game that REALLY showed me how obsessed I am with trophy. I love good hack n' slays and always complain about the lack of them on the market. But yet here I am looking at DMC 5
on my shelf for 2 years now, not having the guts to start it, because I am scared I am not good enough to complete Worthy of Legend. Despite having completed all other DMCs.
Because that way I can always tell myself, if I ever really put my mind to it, I can complete it. And don't have to face the fact that I can't if I actually can't.

1:54 Go figure that just after I manage to snag a second-hand copy of Yakuza: Dead Souls for the PS3, it features in a Friday Feature. Even if it's just its trophy list.
I always check the lists on psn profiles and then look at road maps to determine the difficulties before deciding if I am good enough to get through it or not.
All of them for me although I don't look at hidden trophies until I've done at least one playthrough of the game & I don't count duplicates. I do a few duplicates including Outlast & Alan Wake but I only count the plat once so I still have tiny bit of control over my obsession. Now to go work on my 53rd plat
Ohh I am obsessed all right...I played so hard to get the platinum for showing my dedication and love for the game. All the plat trophies of my favourite games just make me feel...satisfied. However, there are some games that are hard for me to get. I need a break away from NSR at the moment. And I will! I said I will! Get the 'Master yourself, master the enemy' trophy to complete it🔥🔥🔥
Doing things I don’t want to do can be useful. In FFXV I was forced to go fishing for the Platinum. I always hated fishing in games but after that experience I can understand why people love it so much. Still not my thing but I understand it better now.
I have the platinum trophy for FFXV as well. Never again do I want to do anything that involves fishing! It was beyond tedious.
Making a list for future platinums and actually doing them and also researching the trophies for the game you want to play and platinum before buying the actual game.

Multiplayer trophies are the worst and they often decide if i get the game at all. If a game is multiplayer only, nope. Servers are down, nope. Multiplayer trophy has a low achieving percentage, nope.

I'll get the plat if I love the game and it makes sense. Like in GoW, first playthrough I just enjoyed myself, I only wanted to max my build and explore. Just doing that got me about 90% of the trophies. So after checking the trophies I missed, I'm playing Ng+ with a guide because I will explore the map but I can't be bothered to track all the ravens and lore markers that can easily be missed.
After the PS2, I jumped ship and bought my games mainly for the Xbox 360 as most of my friends had one at the time - I had a PS3 for exclusives, but mainly focused on Xbox achievements. It wasn't until I got the PS4 and my friend was telling me about all the Platinum Trophies he had that my competitive nature took over - he had tonnes from his time playing his PS3 and I had none! 140 Platinum Trophies on, I'm winning, but he's close behind on 138 haha!

I have 12 or 13 platinum trophies (technically all achievements). I see them as the same thing, if you don't agree i dont care lol. I have no intention of slowing down lol. I manage to do the alien breed multiplayer trophy (achievement) meant for 2 players on my own by using a rubberband to keep the shooting button pressed in at all the times, placing controller 1 in one spot like behind a door so the aliens would bundle up when attacking. Me with my own controller walking forward to trigger the attack, going back to back to controller 1 standing behind and keep shooting always. And keep going like that for the entire level, it took like 3 times longer then iy was supposed too but it did work lol
