    We’ve turned a corner if you can both ask these questions without everyone on reddit replying with “what is it missing that you think you will need?”
    In 2024, the response is, “you got 30 minutes?” 😂
    I think a student version will work. With an affordable pen and case. I just use my Scribe as a digital exercise book and I chose that over rM2 because of the FOMO from using a cheaper pen and nibs (Noris Jumbo or Scribe Premium pen) and dupe case. At least with the Scribe and pen combo, it writes exactly how Amazon designed it to so I’ll never be left wondering.

      You know what's funny the kindle scribe premium pen is cheaper than the base reMarkable pen and has 2 more functions with it haha

    What about a document camera so that you can easily make pics from books or documents?

    • @VladimirKostek
      @VladimirKostek  8 місяців тому +5

      That would be useful, but I don't know if remarkable would compromise on the design aspect of it though. The Boox tab ultra c for example has that and it creates a camera bump where it doesn't lie flat on a table without a case. You bring up a great point though, the phone app should totally have a camera based import feature. It doesn't I just checked. You could scan it in your phone and then import the doc but removing that extra step and just having it in the app would be great.

      If they could add a flat camera into an rM3 then perhaps that would make sense as sometimes I purposefully don't bring my phone when I use my reMarkable outside to avoid distraction

      Exactly!! It would save so much time and I don’t think it would compromise on the minimalist design function if it was a top notch doc camera with a light to support contrast. For those of us that are inspired by imagery and looking for a scrapbook journal experience, as well as for students looking to work more directly with PDFs without having to import.

      @Velaya818 yea, it could certainly be a very useful feature for many

      Agreed with the document photos and please add color for highlighting and coloring for drawing pictures

    Does the display surface wear out? When writing/drawing mostly on the middle section of the display, is the display surface in this section wearing out more than in the rest of the display?
    What's the display surface made of? Glass? Plastic?
    The magnetic functionality is no good. It collects metallic, ferromagnetic grind dust/little chips in workshop-environments.
    How does that thing behave with water, rain on the display? Capacitive input screens are horrible with waterdrops on them.
    The magnetic connection of the pen is stupid. There has to be a reliable mechanical solution.
    They should have an A4-version and a (reduced functionality?) A6-version for putting it in ones pocket.
    There *HAS* to be a handwriting OCR and a database in the background for showing all the documents fitting specified keywords, so one can build up one's own library inside that plate.
    How mechanically stable is that thing along it's longer side? Does it bend easily and how does the screen behave to this stress?
    What if that plate is exposed to sunlight in the outdoors for a prolonged time. Things laying around in the sunlight can easily heat up to 70°C, even when being white.
    Can this plate be encrypted?
    What's the start-up time?
    Does it have a file-explorer?
    Can one only input via pen or also with a finger?
    It's aesthetically nice being such a flat-fish but for real/mobile work-use one has to put a mechanically protecting sleeve around the fish so it would be a better solution to produce a thicker fish in the first place which is more robust on itself AND at the same time has more space inside for beefier guts like a bigger accumulator or a thin solarcell on it's back when not in use, a bigger processor and internal memory, a faster graphic "card", or even an IP67-rating for actual outdoor-use.
    How reliable is the palm rejection? This is absolutely crucial taht this thing does NOTHING, no gimmicks by itself like real paper with the users hand resting on it.
    Can the touch-functionality be turned on/off so that in off-state this thing is dead like a real piece of paper?

      That's a lot of questions, I'll try to answer most of them!
      The glass surface does not wear out, only the pen tips.
      Startup time from sleep is quick, from power off it can take a bit
      There is a traditional file explorer but not ur standard system root explorer. (by design)
      Palm rejection is fantastic and yes you can input by finger, have not tried waterproofness as I don't believe there is any.
      I don't think you can turn touch input, there is basic encryption in it.
      Solar power would be pretty cool and I imagine would add decent battery longevity but would add some thickness to the design.

      @@VladimirKostek Thank You for getting back. Regarding the solar recharging option: they don't need to integrate the solarcell into the device itself. They can produce a version of these foldable covers with one or even two integrated large format solarcells. As far as i know the device has this docking contacts. There, the energy can be transfered to the device. A large format monocrystalline solarcell additionally looks like a technical and optical premium. The MPPT-functionality can easily be implemented in the device itself. They may also offer a thin extension cord between the magnetic port of the device and the one on the solarcover to allow for remote charging.

      @Vorname_Nachnahme I like that idea a lot, good point about the folio. With pogo pin integration the top of the folio could possible transfer 🔋 I'll add it to the pinned comment I put on the reMarkable 3 wishlist video. I'm trying to incorporate viewer ideas there 💡 thanks for sharing!

    I'm considering buying a RM2 but I sense that RM3 will be released soon and they do not offer thw refurbished option ATM. Does anyone know any possible leaked dates for RM3 release?

    • @VladimirKostek
      @VladimirKostek  6 місяців тому +1

      It's really anyone's guess, I was thinking spring but Kit seems to think the fall. They do hold their resale value quite well, so I do still recommend the rM2 especially if you need/want a device now. I'll be putting out some Supernote Nomad content soon too. It's also worth noting that there could be a price hike for the rM3 as it will be newer. Hope that helps!

      @@VladimirKostek thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've seen the supernote A5X2 will be released soon (spring 24) and it seems to have the edge on feature over the RM2. With the SN I wonder whether I do not like the writing feel as I am a pencil writer but with the FeelWrite 2 I'll feel much more comfortable. Curious if the RM3 can catch with the competitors

    • @VladimirKostek
      @VladimirKostek  6 місяців тому

      @lbbc33 Yea correct, likely May/June. I'm really enjoying the supernote platform and feel write 2 is incredible! Kit and I did a livestream recently where we talk about it and the rM2 ua-cam.com/users/livexQAwk2Z7kp4?si=9QEhGNFZb0ybgSWU

      Also was thinking about what you said, it's funny I don't think reMarkable even need to innovate much as they have dominated the business segment by being simplistic and easy to use. I can't see a company handing out a SN/scribe/Boox device to employees. Of course I would like them to innovate 💡 and that's why I made a whole rM3 wishlist vid 😅
