Hello mate, I am considering buying a used OTT Tornado .. Its a bit older than yours 2006. I have read lots of good things about OTT.. What are your thoughts having used one yourself? Thank you Chris
Sorry for the late reply! Well, I am by far no expert on these machines. All I can say, is that Ott is a traditional austrian company with decades of experience and the tech, at least in this machine, is rock solid - if you let the Ott technicians set the machine up properly and tar and feather every employee, who tries to manually screw with the hardware bits (adjusting screws here or there - don't do that!). Once it is set up, everything is good and you can create programs for different use cases. Let the certified technicians do a yearly check or so. Anyway, my experience with Homag/Weeke machines of the "middle class" is much more mixed. But that is just anecdotal, not definitive proof of inferiority. I think, most machines running poorly can be attributed to people screwing with them, while not being really qualified to do so.
Hi Paul im considering to get one off this machines and wondering would you give me some advice about yours? Would you change something in your edgebander? Im mean add or take off some aggregates for example buffering ? What is most use material to work on on yours? did you work on acrylic materials if yes what's is the result ?Regards
Thats quite the blower for that feed table!
Next step: get a return system to save yourself a few miles of walking :'D
Oh yes, that would be awesome! But we don't have enough space - not mentioning the additional cost...
