Fun facts (sources the GF wiki, the Between The Pines special and the episode commentary track): Regarding the love potion (which creator Alex Hirsch meant to clarify in the episode itself but was later done in Journal 3) its effects are only temporary (i.e. 3 hours) akin to a nudge or push and can't force what was never meant to be if that makes sense. In other words if they weren't truly in love with each other they wouldn't still be together. Meredith was originally supposed to be paired with an elderly lady but the Disney censors said no & made them change it. The keyword for the ending cryptogram appears in the various stalls Mabel is running through while attaching a spray nozzle to the anti-love potion. Alex expected it to take a long time to solve but was done within a few hours after the episode aired. Alexander Hamilton (guy on the $10 bill) is a callback to the unaired pilot where Mabel had a crush on him.
Fun fact: If im not wrong but in gravity fall books it revealed that, robbie and tambry love still end up being real even if the love potion already ran out.
1. Episode expects you to care about Robbie. The guy who has been nothing but a prick and kinda a creep the whole show who used hypnotism on his girlfriend. 2. Wendy's are just a bunch of assholes and the episode plays the bullying and humiliation of Thompson as something wholesome when's it's straight up awful 3. Love potion plots are just creepy 4. Mabel is clearly in the wrong in this one and the episode shrugs it off
Mabels quite selfish on reflection throughout the show. Think how much Dipper has sacrificed because Mabel didn't like what was happening. She is also very boy crazy to an almost obsessed level. @@connorwood9211

If you don't live your dream, Mabel will make it happen against your wishes
The reason Love God's voice seemed familiar is because he has the same voice actor as Jake from Adventure Time

Mabel is sweet, but she really shouldn't meddle in person love life.
Honestly this is the one episode I really just hate.
Why, it nice to a romantic episode of this show.
