I worked with Graham Taylor he was completely different to Tony for a start he let Kenny Jacket deal with the tactics and he would be the motivator. The first thing I told him when we spoke was to tell your players what you want them to do and cut out any negative commands. This invariably works because the subconscious mind does not process negatives. So if you say to the full-back, for example, don't pass the ball back to the keeper it does not hear the word don't. In this way, you can facilitate performance and get positive results.
Reminds me of the Paul Whitehouse clip as manager when he lays into the team at half time...what a great comedy clip that was!
