Tbh I have the impression BI's fans are those kind of fans that can appreciate the whole work instead of choosing and picking a handful amount of songs. That shows how much their songs resonates with people. I, for instance, still find myself "discovering" BI's musics that flew by my head the first couple of times that i heard and that is simply beautiful.
I’m at a point in my life where I really don’t know who I am, or how I’m doing anymore. Maybe Covid brought it on, but I’m lost and searching for meaning to this pain and suffering. I carry it with me every single day and it’s hard for me to feel at peace with where I am. I just want to love and to be loved. I don’t want to feel alone anymore.

It's hard to know exactly what to say for posts like these. I'd say...Be real with yourself. Listen to yourself like a good friend would listen to you. Open, without judgement, and with compassion. Cheers.

We’re all this together dealing with it, in different timelines - but alone!
Don’t wait for rescue - rescue yourself , but be gentle and true to yourself. The unfamiliar is too scary and the notion of the discomfort even more but take that leap my friend. You’ve got you! You’ve got this!

I remember I was about 12 or 13 when I saw a movie about a lawyer that Robert Downey Junior played named "The Judge". My father was watching it on the tv and I just saw glimpses of scenes not really understanding anything, but for some reason I fell in love with it. Something about the way I didn't know the actors, the atmosphere, the location, or even the subject of the movie, made me have a completely different view of it. then almost at the end credits, the song Holocene played. i did not think much of it at first, but my dad was absolutely captured by it. he later downloaded it and would play it in the car in long drives or anywhere, really. that was the first time i actually fell in love with it, when i heard it in the car I would just look out the window and not speak a single word. I still remember the feeling I got when it came on and we just listened to it in silence. Bon Iver was (and still pretty much is) an indie artist that is not globally known like some mainstream artists out there, and since we were not in the US or Europe we really had no idea who was singing at all, so we just referred to this song as "the judge song" since we saw it in that movie. years later I got interested in indie alternative music and went into artists like novo amor, altj, the paper kites, the lumineers, hozier and last but not least, Bon Iver. I would listen to Roslyn and skinny love just to realize one day that hey, this guy sounds kind of familiar. where do I know him from? and then after a long time of thinking and showing it to my dad, many years later, he said isn't that the judge song guy? and then it all came together. I still feel such amazing emotions when listening to Holocene, it is such a special song for me. If you got some time on your hand, go watch the judge. its not a cool action movie or anything or some cool law mystery, I have re-watched it countless times since I grew up and it is as slow as a movie gets, but I enjoy it so much its impossible to put into words I think. If you read this far, thank you. I want this memory to remain some where even when I'm gone.

I think ‘A song for a lover of long ago’ is my favorite song ever. It puts me in deep contact with my soul. Everything about that song, from the melody, to justin's voice, to the lyrics, convey to me a peace that I search for in every place, in every look, in myself and that I'm afraid I won't find again now that my lover of long ago is gone
I saw Bon Iver in 2017 after listening to them for at least five years, especially when going through hard times in life. It's probably been 10 years now I've loved their music so much, it still brings me so much beauty and peace. Hearing Justin Vernon live was one of the happiest moments of my life
Bon Iver and Sigur Ros are two bands I must see live before I die.

Justin Vernon's music is so amazing at night with low light from candles or a fireplace. My room is lit with christmas lights that have a dimmer switch and that works awesome too.
Didn't know When It Rains Down Here... what a poetry
My first encounter with his music was bc of this movie called "The Judge", that was randomly playing on TV, by chance I heard the part that "Holocene" was playing and I immediately fell in love with it! This song had so much meaning to me and I have so many good, teary, foggy and rainy memories with it. I tattoo the title on my wrist. I generally crave these kind of musics, that's why I LOVE Hozier and Bon Iver, etc. The lyrics are also amazing and touchable to me!

P.S: It's crazy how another person's memory who commented here (I think their name was Sky?) Was kinda exactly like mine! And crazier to find out that most ppl know him not by "Rosalyn" but by "Holocene"

I saw Bon Iver live back in 2019 at the Montreux Jazz Festival. After that concert, I went to Calgary in Canada and couldn’t stop listening to his songs while I was there. I connected so deep with his songs that it influenced so much the music I composed myself later on. Justin is simply a legend. ✨
