  • Marie Leszczynska, was a polish princess who despite having a penniless dowry managed to become the queen consort of France when Louis XV fell ill and needed an immediate heir to the throne that his current engagement to his 7 year old cousin could not commit to.
    She was loved by the french people for her compassion and generosity, and despite being harassed by the french courtiers for being ugly and barren, she handled herself with grace and dignity, producing 10 children of France and reigning for 42 years, the longest in french history,
    She was the grandmother of Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X of France.
