Fascinating interview! I was stunned to hear David reference Tammy Faye's interview with me, that gay pastor with HIV she interviewed on PTL in the early '80's. That was me! I continue to be amazed at how that 25 minutes in my life way back then continues to reverberate through the decades, thanks to Tammy Faye. Thanks for all your good interviews, Duke!

By the way, I thought I should add that I was at death's door when I did that interview with Tammy Faye. I wasn't a gay pastor with just HIV... I had full-blown AIDS, stage 4 lymphoma, and Kaposi's sarcoma when I did that interview. And that chemotherapy she referred to me taking was an experimental chemo - the first antiviral drug trial for AIDS, a drug called suramin, and that trial became notorious in that it killed a number of the AIDS patients who took it, and very nearly killed me. And I'm still alive, and feeling quite well now!
