    I have another awesome PRAISE REPORT from my sister ! Last week she had another MRI on the brain tumor . She got the results today & it has shrunk another milometer ~ so it is now 1/2 the size it was in March !!! This is without the horrible cancer treatments that they had to stop after the 1st treatment, because it was killing her !!! PRAISE GOD for HIS healing mercies !!!

    In a nutrition class I took in college we learned the difference between complex and simple carbs. Complex carbs are actually healthy, its all the toppings we use that aren't healthy. Like popcorn is fine, its all the butter & salt that's not good, potatoes are good by themselves, but we pile on all the yummy not so healthy stuff & blame the carbs. I personally love complex carbs! I limit my simple carbs, which are the sugars & such. And we learned how the body processes them differently & complex carbs really are okay. Even carbs from fruits & veggies are much healthier than anything that's been refined. I'm gonna give these a try soon! Thank you for sharing & God bless.

    • @marymarysmarket3508
      @marymarysmarket3508 4 роки тому +2

      Actually, potatoes are not healthy. They are members of the nightshade family along w tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and more. These foods cause inflammation in the body and are therefore detrimental. Yes, they contain vitamins but so do poisonous weeds.

    • @ItsMeNanaD71
      @ItsMeNanaD71 4 роки тому +1

      @@sallyblatchford1585 thank you for educating me on that. I haven't dealt with that and honestly didn't think about that & I'm thankful you brought that up! It just goes to show even in college everything you learn isn't marked in stone.
      Typically, for non-diabetics, complex carbs get burned up, before turning into sugars as the more active we are the faster we burn them off, so they don't necessarily always turn to sugar. I guess the amount of sugar we get from them is completely up to us & our activity levels, or lack thereof. Everything in moderation, that's the hard part, moderation.

    • @ItsMeNanaD71
      @ItsMeNanaD71 4 роки тому

      @@marymarysmarket3508 I don't eat the nightshade plant. Lol. I also took horticulture, so thankfully I know how plant families work. I also typically don't eat fungi, aka mushrooms, but most people do & plenty of them will straight up kill you. I don't eat much mold either, but I like blue cheese dressing, which technically is a mold. We could go back & forth until we just don't eat anything anymore. Different foods affect people differently....

    I am pre diabetic. I have been testing good by cutting out most high carbs. Basically keto. I missed carbs! I saw an article mentioning resistant starch and when I saw differing opinions I went to the source, a John's Hopkins research article. It said if you take rice, pasta, red and new potatoes and cook them first then refrigerate them 4 hours or longer it changes them to a resistant starch. You then use them in your recipe as usual, or just eat leftovers. It can change your glucose numbers by 50%. So rice would make my glucose jump 60 points but now only 30 points. And oats you can do raw or overnight oats. I tried everything and it works! My numbers were really good! All within a normal range! Bread if you add flax fiber or buy it that way you may be able to test good also, I did. They said it was not only the answer for glucose but weight also. I'm telling this is to anyone like me searching for answers.

    Hi Tessie, I love recipetips, keep them coming. But as a Norwegian would never put sugar in them, seems unnecessary, since you already have pineapples. 😉 Trying to stay off sugar! (And salt) It might be good, I dont know. But what this recipe is missing is herbs and spices! A pinch of salt and a good pinch of pepper at least. 😂 We strech our ground beef with chopped onions and breadcrumbs too, if we dont have that, we use potatoflour (starch), or cornflour. My mother puts all kinds of spices in them. Nothing like moms cooking! 😉 The other day I had meatballs with ramsons, it grows wild here, wonderful taste to the food. Traditionally we serve the meatballs in a brown sauce with boiled potatoes and stewed cabbage, but today we use everything from ovenbaked fries to pasta.

    Thanks for this. I made this when your video first came out and it turned out great. I'm not a great fan of red meat, however, a couple of months ago, ground beef was really inexpensive at the grocery store so a bought a lot of it and froze it. I made this recipe using the onion and the original amounts of the ingredients you posted, and then I cooked it all rather than freezing it. We had ours with spaghetti, a big hit, and had 2 more meals with the leftovers. Have a nice day!

    Love burgers and meatballs. Never had sweet and sour meatballs. Will have to try that. My favorite is meatloaf with sauce an be then cold the next day on rye bread.
    Keep smiling sweetie xoxo

    DearTessie....I love meals like this on top of rice. I add water chestnuts, sweet peppers and a bit of soy sauce to my rice for a little crunch. I don't drain my crushed pineapple when I make it. I am so hungry for it right now, but have had belly issues past few weeks, so eating bland foods for now. Wish I had a small chest freezer, but this year you can't find one on the East Coast now. Have a good night and great tomorrow. Bea xxoo

    They both look good

    Or cook them and reheat later

    Those meatballs sound so yummy! Whenever a recipe calls for crushed pineapple I dump it in my blender or food processor to crush it.

    Interesting with the pineapple. You can pre-bake them and have three sauces you cover them with for variety before freezing them for a quick meal later...and they are already cooked. One with spaghetti sauce...no pineapple, one with a stroganoff sauce...no pineapple, another with a sweet and sour or BBQ sauce. With the pineapple. Any remaining sauces frozen to add to another dish later. Like to freeze hamburger patties too! Recently canned meatballs...only ingredients were dried mushroom powder and dehydrated onion...no eggs, no bread crumbs...baked them first...canned using beef broth...yum! Love having that on the shelf. They held together nicely and can be used any way you want! Definite winner! Just sharing. Thank you for your videos...love seeing the garden and what you are up to!
