Billlie will forever have a special place in my heart. Their entire lore thus far, at least from my perspective, is just a metaphor for the sorrows of growing up. How people seemingly feel less joy and wonder the older they get. They tackle the question of “when did we all grow so weary and fearful and stressed? Where did our childhood, joy and innocence go? When did it disappear?” Hence the title of their upcoming album “of all we have lost”. This pre-release seems to be a ballad to those that miss their lives once free of burdening responsibility and anxieties of adulthood, telling them that they can still find the joy they once felt if they ask themselves “what do I like? What makes me happy? What are the things I have today that serve me and bring me joy?” Billlie is such a gem, the way they tell a story through music and performance, how they genuinely seem to love their craft and what they create for this over-saturated community of capitalized k-pop. This comeback was a long time coming and I’m so happy Sua and Suhyeon were able to recover to make this upcoming masterpiece. 빌리 너무 감사합니다
In sheer quality, Billlie is the best 4th gen group. The amount of great songs, the concepts, the performances, the quality of the line distribution, the love for experimentation. Such an amazing group, and they keep on going, even having two members less for so many months, now with the first OT7 release in almost 19 months. This pre-release feels like something we could be grateful.
Billlie: So what are we going to do for the MV? Mystic Story: .... the song's called Trampoline, right? Billlie: You're serious? We can't just jump up and down for three and a half minutes! Mystic Story: Well no... not all at once. Billllie: .... Mystic Story:.... Billlie: It's just that-- Mystic Story: the song's called Trampoline!
Having listened to everything else this year I s2g Mystic has the best A&R in kpop right now. Every single one of their releases this year has just been ridiculously solid across the board and internally cohesive, two things I've almost given up on getting from kpop outside of a select few soloists' works.
The Billlage of perception: Chapter 3 is one of my favorite albums *of all time* and nevertheless is one of the best tracks on said album. So excited to see you checking this group out again! This track KILLED IT!
Of _course_ you drop this right as I'm going to bed... 😜 0:30 _Totally_ understand the obsession with nevertheless. Just as B'rave earwormed for a month as I was _properly_ getting into Billlie during BoP2 era, in BoP3 era, nevertheless had much the same effect on me. Aaand, I have a feeling trampoline's doing it too... 1:20 I believe the MV was made by the same people who did BYOB and Domino... 7:35 Ooh, that's a nice bit of wordplay that I didn't catch! 8:20 While they do this, they're also providing a kind of line distribution guide, where the member jumping into view is _also_ the one who's singing at that moment. It doesn't last once you have more of them appearing at the same time, but it's a fun detail at the start. 12:00 Partially, yes, but, not entirely. The title track is called Memory Candy, and I think this ties into that. Note that they keep popping sweets into their mouths over the course of the video, but at one point, someone goes to hand a candy over, and they drop it, then they all start spilling... and this is when their faces start turning... blank. I'm not sure how much you know of the lore, but my hunch is that this ties into the period after Billlie's disappearance; the girls lied about knowing anything, and stayed so true to the lie, that they pretty much completely forgot about Billlie... and also each other as they drift apart, seemingly for several years. I especially recommend checking out the lore films "what is your B?" and "the end of the world and the awakening", which accompany their second and third mini-albums; they're absolutely _beautiful_ mini-movies, that will answer some questions, and raise even more. 😜 There's also a series of white-scrawled images that appear next to each member around Siyoon's last rap break, and these tie into their hidden personalities (which get names in "the end of the world and the awakening", and also get referenced in the Ring ma Bell and Japanese GingaMingaYo MVs)... 12:10 _Suhyeon,_ there, looks kinda happy, ish, but as each of the others was just bouncing, they'd lost the buzz. Also, Americas tour in November and December; kpoptickets [dot] com if you want to check 'em out live (and you do, trust me)!
Well, while they'll probably be promoting this on some of the shows if they can, the main one is Memory Candy... which, while I haven't heard the whole thing yet, I think I'll be very surprised if it doesn't _at least_ get a _couple_ of wins...
it’s always so fun to hear your thoughts because you always put them in such a coherent, poetic way… also the amount of details you pick up, it makes me appreciate the video/song even more..
I got so lucky seeing them live in Munich and I've really grown to appreciate them so much more, they're really incredible! (also nevertheless truly is the best song)
YT Music randomly played this for me and for a while I thought it was an early MAMAMOO song from the Hello era that I forgot about, especially with how much Haram sounds like Wheein here. Instant fav.

@@formoftherapy finally, someone who understands how good nevertheless is 🙌
the thing about Billlie is that they will always throw themselves in the concept they are doing without any fear

36 seconds in and you're talking about the Nevertheless effect, yes, that bside is too powerful, it was my most listened song last year

Billlie: It's just that--
Mystic Story: the song's called Trampoline!
Its soooo jazzy its SO good istfg 😭💖💖 cant wait for the title track
The first part of them jumping is based on them singing their part in the song, like line distribution
