These drain covers work!! The most water that can pond is the height of the outer lip, then it simply drains through the horizontal slats. This is the ONLY drain cover that didn't clog -- well worth the money.

Honestly I dont see the difference or benefit of thiz new model video intends to make you belive what he is explaining but same way it was explain that helps its the same way the old style would just imajine a large plastic bag and it will cover the falt drain faster than the old kind

Pay attention to what he says about 2:10 into the video. The design change is from vertical to horizontal slots. So even when leaves or debris accumulate, the water will still drain because of gravity. It also has a larger diameter than the old version, so in the example of a large plastic bag, it would be harder to cover.

Silly idea, this is even worse.

Respectfully I disagree. I have a flat roof and have been dealing with clogs and pulling from the conventional dome shaped covers since I bought the house. From a science standpoint, in theory this SHOULD work. Most of the debris is lighter and would end up floating upwards and allow the water to drain underneath. Only way I see it not working is if you had something heavier, say gravel or stone that buildup on top of the leaves and common debris. Then you could end up with a blockage. But hey, like I said in my comment above, I'd like to see it in action to be certain. Its about time someone has tried to figure out a better solution.
