Yes, because in a few years, I will have been in the industry for 30 years. Even though I've had periods where things were decent or even great, I was able to support myself, which I see as a tremendous achievement. I managed to save for times without income, which always returned. However, I must face the reality that I will be poor by the time I retire due to only being able to pay low amounts into social security. So, I must consider leaving this industry entirely to work in something more stable for at least another decade, if not longer. I always encourage young people to follow their dreams and stay the course, but everything eventually has a limit.
I am starting to enter the film realm as a teenager and felt that the 2 short films I did this year would determine if I would venture into the film industry. As it turns out I feel I am committed to the film industry as a short film of mine, OBSERVATIONS, was accepted into the MKE International Short Film Festival.
