Valtellini is quickly becoming the best YT instructor. So many great advises and techniques
Breno Girafa he’s not quickly becoming,he is the best for kickboxing on you tube this bloke is awesome so many great tips
you are absolutely right. I initially meant fighting generally speaking. But yea, no one can touch him in regards to kickboxing
Breno Girafa yeah don’t get me wrong lot great you tube people on here great tips, but also load bullshit self defence artist on here, obviously he’s a top kickboxer but way he breaks everything down tells the faults what you shouldn’t do,got great knowledge specially about leg kicks,I do Muay Thai and karate my only problem with kickboxers are they basically Muay Thai fighters without elbows sweeps clinch, don’t like way don’t use footwork like karate guys do,
right on, man. I agree 100% with you. Couldn't tell about the karate part because I've never practiced but I think I see what you mean. Have a great training!
Breno Girafa you mean a glory kickboxing champ knows how to kickbox? Who would of thought Sherlock
I remember asking my coach how to beat a technical outside fighter. He said "be a better technical outside fighter" and then laughed and walked away.
Sounds like a shit coach
He sure does
"Thanks coach!"
😂😂😂😂
LXC828 actually he’s not wrong if you want to beat someone you should perfect their craft and perfect your own style and since you learned that other way of fighting you will have more knowledge and it’ll be an easier fight.
I really like a well timed inside leg kick on a pressure fighter stepping forward. It will either off-balance and square them up leaving them open for some strikes (people reflexively open their arms up when their top half suddenly jerks forward off balance) or cause them to fall forward onto their face. I’ve had success with it against both smaller and taller pressure fighters. As always great tips Bazooka! 👍🏼👊🏼
KillaRick good to mention that technique.
KING JOSH 💯😂👍🏼
Where, more precisely do you aim these kick? Just above the knee?
Swe Kiwi yup! Usually anywhere around the knee as long as you can get the leg to swivel outward a little from the kick. Doesn’t even need to be that hard of a kick. Better the timing the better the results 👍🏼
@KillaRick Thanks for the quick answer! ⚡
Do you prefer to connect the inside low kick when they lift their leg or when they've grounded it?
Which seems to give the best results, in your opinion?
At last an *intelligent* video on this subject. It only stands to reason that the quickest strikes at the greatest distance and quick evasive movements that put you in a striking position make the most sense when faced with an attacker who rushes in flailing away. X1000 outside of the ring. But it would be nice to see some examples full speed, which few videos do, and which is when it counts.
Lead arm extended to keep the distance, front leg teep is my bread and butter against pressure fighters. Don’t forget to circle.
Awesome content. I had such a hard time with this massive pressure fighter at my gym. I was using alot if movement and he said ‘ hey quit moving so much’ he was one of the coaches so i had to listen. But movement is the key. Thanks for the great tips joe
He just want to be bully
That’s a trash coach
coaching sounds mid, did you switch gyms?
I'd love to see a video on how to use the aggressive pressure style...
My biggest tip is learn good ring control and cut whoever you're fighting off and make the ring feel small, that's what I did while boxing a lot but in kickboxing and mma it's more difficult because they may be able to shut it down with leg kicks and teeps so drill defense for those
Watch all the Justin Gaethje fights and you’re good :-)
Pressure like the above comment. Let them walk towards your roundhouses.
@@wolfiealpha4647 I was just about to say, Gaethje 2.0 especially.
@@wolfiealpha4647 actually Khabib has the best pressure even in striking alone, he pressured Justin, despite takedowns being in the mind
Bro this series of videos are pure gold.
Great vid. This fighting style requires solid cardio
Right now.. Numero uno instructor.. Worth study worth learning worth a million.. Highly appreciated thx a lot great Respect
this is the best channel out there. keep the content coming please
V I've been a long time subscriber and I rarely watch your videos (because I don't spar/fight yet) but this one here is GOLD!
“I’m going to make them pay for coming in a straight line “ great video
Always back occasionally to watch Joe's videos, endless knowledge
Happens to me as I started kickboxing in February and a guy who's been doing it for 13 years is fighting his ego. Got him few times but he really needs to get one sometimes.
BAZOOKA joe my favorite fighter ,I really like your fighting style ,I 'm big fan of you
REALLY love this series Joe. Thanks for the content.
Il migliore. La vera scienza di Kick boxing. Grazie.
Holy FUCK! That demonstration was a work of art. Beautiful technique
Great video. Can you do a tutorial on how to be successful as a short fighter?
be a pressure fighter
EggsGalore Gaming what if what joe describes here?
And there is more than one way to be effective as a smaller fighter.
bigbobabc123 it’s one of the ways I’m familiar with many shorter guys do this to me because they don’t have the reach but if you’re short and have freakishly long arms you could be and out fighter
EggsGalore Gaming I’m 5’7” with a 5’11” reach and a fighting weight of about 160-165.
bigbobabc123 well tbh I’m not the best person to ask. I’m just speaking from a relatively limited experience
Poor raymon daniels in that highlight reel lmao
poor Nicky Holzken oh wait wrong HL
This is the best vid I've seen on the subject! Obrigada!
Good and simple! Easy to digest.
That was phenomenal, I can’t wait to practice it.
I like using longguard or just holding my left fist onto their forehead to keep them away. Sounds really stupid but actually works really well when someone tries to rush in a straight line.
Muay Thai fighters do that
These vids aren't going anywhere, are they? I love these! Thank you 🙏
I’m a 6’3 (220 lbs) pressure fighter coaches constantly yell at me for not staying behind my jab
that's because your coaches are teaching you what they have been taught they have yet to adapt and its the same type coaches that cant help you adjust during a fight when yor getting your ass kicked
I'm 6'4" 195# and I currently train in a very Dutch style gym with good but short coaches, they tell me the exact same thing. There's a few other things they do different than my old gym and my style, I just have to take it with a grain of salt. My old gym the head teacher was only 6 foot but he was actual Thai (his assistant coaches were all taller also)so he was very tall for a Thai, so his traditional Thai style and moving from long range to set up head kicks, in to clench for control without a lot of the middle-range body shot stuff the Dutch fighters do thats going to get me knocked out against the shorter guys. so I just learn everything they have to teach me do it the way they want me to do in class, knowing I will never actually fight that way. but it can definitely be annoying when I get lectured for doing something wrong when it's something that I just do different.
yeah keep working the jab. the jab is the key to success
This is great! Thank you, Joe!
Great video as always 👍,I think pressure fighters are easiest to fight because do come straight in a line easier to counter attack, although have to be very fit as lot footwork needed and don’t get a rest, think harder part specially if smaller is getting in close,
How do you use knee's without being too vulnerable to punches? P.S. thank you for your awesome videos, it's teaching this grappler how to hit things intelligently :)
Super classes
Please teach me defence steps
Foot step, head moves, body and hand
This series is fantastic. Thank you so much.
Joseph valtellini you are a legend😊 i watch your vids alot bro! Great stuff
unfortunately for Joe he didn't have enough big time fights to become a legend although with what ended his career if he had continued it may have ended his life so good for him to know when to quit most fighters don't know when to call it quits especially the good and great fighters
Killin it. Good work.
Can that defensive tactic work in a self-defense street fight?
Nothing but awesomeness
Soooooo fluid coach. Thank you.
Talking and demonstrating at the SAME time. Great vids man!
I want to know the different elbow combinations that a fighter can use
Absolute legend! Thanks for this
Thanks man! Does that strategy also work against hooks?
This is some really good tips for a specific sparring partner tomorrow 😃
Excellent video
There's a guy at my gym with a very tricky style of fighting
He's taller and longer, he keeps a tight gaurd covering his face and body well, he WALKS forward and never takes a step back, he blockes your punches and keeps pressing forward throwing punches to the body and the sec you lower your guard he throws a looping punch to the head or a kick, also any time you start kicking he immediately sweeps you.
How do I deal with this kind of striker ??!
Get a big stick
- improve endurance and cardio ( so you can stay on the move and circle around him so he always has to turn to face you or use his time cutting off the floor/cage/ring rather than setting up well balanced shots from his stance.
- reinforce yourself mentally so you dont break under pressure. Try to stay calm.
- develop a killer, fast and strong inside leg kick ( for his lead leg. If hes walking forward. Hes gonna have to put most of his weight on that front leg at some point. Crack It when he does.)
- develop a fast and strong outside round house kick to his lead leg. ( but dont forget to set it up so you dont hey tagged by punches and work on getting out of range safely after you throw it. )
- work on your clinch game. If hes chasing you down and wants to throw heavy shots. GET SO CLOSE TO HIM that he cant throw anything and clinch him. Control his arms.
These tactics have worked for me. Because I used to struggle with an inside pressure fighter. He would get so close that my straight punches felt crumpled and weak and he has faster hooks than me so i always lost the inside game. And he had a tight ass gaurd and never seemed to be bothered by the body shot. He literally would press his gaurd into my chest and tear me apart. These days not so much I dont even let him get that close. And when he does. I'm directing him passed me or I'm making him pay in the clinch with light knees and sweeps and burning out his arms with clinch tech.
But a lot of it is mental and the rest just consistency with your tactics and stamina. Good luck brotha.
@@thewoolycontacts Wow!!, this is perfect advice.
Thank you so much man you really know your shit!!
I'm gonna definitely try the inside low kick since his stance is very square wich makes him hard to sweep, and cutting angles fast is something I tried and it worked beautifully on him and gave me some distance so I can see the shots coming, he's a lot heavier so maybe the clinch wouldn't be the best thing to do but other than that your advice is perfect and sound.
Also the intimidation factor is very real when you change your mind set it changes the fight 100%.
Thanks again for the advice, maybe we can stay in contact and discuss some fighting strategies if you want
@thewoolycontacts Wow. This tips actually sound very useful, especially to punish someone always trying to walk you down with "strong outside low kicks to their lead leg". I also have a person at our club that is really difficult since he gets so close to me, has way better boxing skills and weaves ALOT, so that I keep missing him.
But the low kicks... I'm going to utilize those tomorrow waaay more and a bit harder.
He's a really kind and nice guy, but I need to stop him somehow 😁
@@adamzoubi96 How did it turn out Adam?
Thanks you sr! I've a question.. You can show us one wey to practice the shadowkick?
This video earned my subscription. Great info 👍💯
Great advice!
Love your stuff Amazing resource
Another dope video
Great champion and great instructor !
Flying knee to the nuts😠👍🏽
Very helpful bro thanks a lot
Great video man... thank you for educating us
Great video as always.
Great video! What happens when you end up fighting a guy taller than you and he uses these strategies on you. How would you get past that?
This stuff is awesome.
Same things except lot more body shots and leg kicks
Good video champ.
You are the best
Awesome tutorial 🥊💥👍
Nice movement and footwork, I can see that you have both speed and power. I practice in Okinawan style of karate which we snappower kicks and punches. We develop our shins and thighs but I always see kickboxers over-committing and spinning out of control which is why I don't respect it. You clearly do have control of your feet and where you land after your Kik. I have just subscribed.
tony carangi insert Tony Stark exaggerated eye role here
Tony, I sparr with alot of karate-dudes and dudetes. I've learned thai-kicks which are supposed to go through, or pass if I miss. EVERY single kick I've landed really, really hurt them. Their snap-kicks? Not so much. They are really fast, but since we've learnt (in thai) to use a lot of faints it's (quite) easy to cover my kicks and they (almost) never see them.
Just saying.
and wonders in the task when you get tired of keeping it at a distance with punches what happens when it gets to you?
What is the best way To condition your shins
Any strategies for fighting a taller, bigger pressure fighter? I’m a 14 year and I’m the youngest in my class, but I spar with guys who are way taller than me and weigh slightly less than a truck carrying particularly heavy goats. Having a lot of trouble, any dubious advice would be appreciated.
Watched a fight last week that looked just like that. Only the pressured fighter kept walking back, and the aggressive one had her cornered a few time and did nothing about it 🤷🏻♀️😂
It was frustrating to watch.
Amazing!!! I hope that because of your movies i will improve my technique and especially defending 💪💪keep it up! Bless🔥
Hey joe whats a good counter to a teep. Always get caught with it. Thanks
Or if he gets too close you can go for a double leg Tire them out with wrestling and you already knocked most if not all the air out with the teeps so after they have nothing left stand them up then finish them or tap them out on the ground
wel hes explaining for kickbxing and you can that to
But coach can u tell me what if they don't stop punching ??
My roommate is a must thai kickboxer that is 6'1 weighs 230 and throws hands and feet like Ip Man.... I'm 6'1 and 145, how would you recommend I counter him?
I like this.
Question might sound stupid but never been good at running away /using long range their is a fighter i train with guy is about to be in the ufc i hear stand up wise we are similar i have to admit we are both pressure fighters im very poor at dealing with shorter guys then me and he throws lots of combinations im just good at countering / single shots when closing in .... How would u recommend a taller pressure fighter deal with a guy who pressures with up n down head movement / and only comes in straight lines ??im 5'7 he is 5'5 or 5'4?? I think i just thought learn more combinations and use upper cutts in those combinations to be more successful and finish those off with kicks to keep him in front of me ....we usually sparring mma gloves i asume same thing can apply
thanks for videos its appreciated
What’s if they’re taller by quite a bit and aggressive ?
How do you defend against an opponent throwing both arms and fists
and their chest against you? Assume you can’t strike back and assume this isn’t on the street or in the ring.
What other fighters are there that share a similar fight style as Joe? I love the shield and low leg kick heavy attack. I study the few fights he had in glory but I'm looking for more to analyse.
Medic 11 Hi there I don't if it would be of any help but Joe was coached by a guy called Paul Minhas during his GLORY days.
You can check out his channel on UA-cam or watch some the fighters that he has coached.
There are soooo many. Pornsanae and Mr. Knock are like bazooka joe except probably better. Ramon dekkers and liam harrison are non thais who are also extremely good. Heavy hands + good kicks have samson issan and veeraphol. Both have GOD hands. I know cause they are extremely accompllished in boxing. CP freshmart is of this generation and is a boxing champ and muay thai champ. World champs in both.
Thank you!
most of Dutch and Thais fight this way its not difficult just come forward and cover up
I forgot to mention probably not too many fight like Joseph because they don't retire after they win
Why you got that straight attacks stickers right where your footwork is
Some boxers us the ropes very well
One question can strength beat speed in a boxing match
Great video, again! Can I put in a request for a video helping people to be good mitt holders and 'gloved receivers' in drills ? I'm not as strong as my partners and have been accused of having noodle arms. I'm trying! A guy on the weekend said my hand should be open in my boxing glove to receive his punches, but my boxing gloves keep my fist closed. Struggling with this, and it's hard enough as it is to get male drilling partners. Help?
Lucy V time their strikes and slap their hit slightly as they land. Make sense?
That shorter fighter really looks like he can cause some serious damage.
Ikr 😱
congrats
Very interesting video. You hace My 👍🏼 and My suscription . Thanks for the videos
This was the way Robert Whittaker dealt with Yoel Romero
Ironic huh lol
Great
I'm getting my arse kicked in sparing in this situation by a more experienced person. can I have some more advice?
This should be #51 (Its mucked the later video numbers up).... Just saying... fantastic series tho.. best on youtube in my opinion.
What if they are tall and pressure fighter?
Great video as usual, Joseph! What do you think is the best way to build toughness so you can take more hits during a fight? Just building that toughness over time through sparring or would you suggest some drills?
What if they are able to slip your punches
If you want my honest opinion taken from my personal experience.
Notice how this dude is out of breath cuz hes working and talking at the same time.
- my first point. WORK ON YOUR FOOT WORK AND ENDURANCE/ CARDIO. To stay away from somebody you are exerting double if not more amounts of energy than the guy pressuring. On top of that you are throwing strikes but he keeps walking forward. You WILL gas if your cardio isnt up to par.
- Do NOT and I repeat.. DO NOT try to square up with them. Especially if you are smaller, slower, less experienced and they are a better inside fighter with a tight ass gaurd. You are giving up and playing into their game.
- learn to strike on the move ( ACTUALLY on the move) I dont mean, side step , stop and throw. I mean learn to throw while your feet are moving.
- develop some fast and strong inside legs kick and outside round house kicks to the lead leg of the opponent. Hes stepping forward so hes gonna have to put his weight on the leg at some point. Identify when that is and crack him with that fast low kick. That shit adds up and it WILL slow them down eventually.
- learn to move out of range after throwing your strikes. The inside fighter will sometimes wait for you to throw and when you are done.. they will counter with hooks and strong kicks because you are recovering right in front of them. Throw and move ( cardio cardio cardio)
- IMPROVE YOUR CLINCH GAME. He will always walk into you. So take away his weapons by tying them up in the clinch and make him pay with light knees to the body and some basic sweeps. Or you can gas his arms out by making him work in the clinch.
- lastly but most important.. reinforce your mental fortitude. When you have thrown your best strikes and he is unphased and still stepping forward.. and you are gassing and constantly getting tagged when hes close. You WILL break if you do not learn to stay calm and compose yourself and take those hits in stride. Good luck people!
thank you so much for this, really helpful
Uppercut left hook
You beat him up
Yet it doesn’t work well on Nieky holzken right
what has nieky holzken to do with this ? these are just tips it isnt a guide my god
I need help im short and when I'm sparring they put there hands to block my view and just hit me please help
sorry if i’m late but i had this problem but in real boxing i was short and fought taller and heavier opponents what i did to even the score when they unload was to slip to the right or left and KEEP YOUR EYES ON HIS HANDS slip to the left or right depending on the situation and hit his side then when he covers his body he’s open for a hook to the jaw for a knockout if he backs up circle around then start again in the middle of the ring
Niceee
Did his "aggressive" opponent throw any punches?
raymond daniels liked this video
so did Nicky Holzken
How does this translate to mma?
Guy in the video is not throwing a single punch
Don't you think you'll gass out from throwing non-stop punches and kicks for the whole 3 mins? That's approx 170 stikes.
No not exactly, as he said in the video that you should be constantly throwing these punches when he is pressuring you.
TheSweetalchemist i think you shouldnt put a lot of power into these pressure shots on his guard so you dont gass out quick, you only put power in your shots if you see an opening
