We took an 11 day cruise to Alaska in 2005 and it just made us crave to see more of it. So in 2019 we drove! When we went, the roads were fine as we pulled our 5th wheel. We were in no hurry to get there and so we often said, “We’re just meandering our way to Alaska.” We saw so much wildlife along the Alaska Highway….bears, moose, eagles, mountain goats and bison. We LOVED Valdez and spent 2 weeks there! And then another 3 weeks in the Homer area. We took two nature cruises and saw orcas and humpback whales, seals, puffins and eagles.
This is exactly how it shouldn't be done! I grew up in Anchorage and just watching this reminded me how NOT to visit. As a teenager we always made fun of the tourists. LOL I love that cruises pump $ into the port economy, but it really isn't the best way to visit such a wonderful place.
Hello! A few weeks ago, I watched Chad n Tara's video on the cruise to Alaska and wanted to hear your take on it. I get the impression it was a bit of a disappointment for all but you made the absolute best of it. We lived in Alaska for seven years and will always treasure the memories💓🐳🐋🐻 🦅🐾🦔
We took a Holland America cruise on the Volendam out of Vancouver, B.C. to Alaska and back for our 35th anniversary in 2014. We splurged, upgrading to first class on United Airlines round trip from Tampa, and upgraded to the Neptune suites on the ship. We only had bad weather at one stop, in Ketchikan. Glacier Bay National Park was amazing. The Neptune suites are amazing: twice the width of a normal veranda suite, with a double wide balcony, access to the Neptune lounge, private concierge, free laundry, all day coffee, tea, juice, fruits and cheeses, etc. We arrived in Vancouver two days before the cruise and flew home two days afterwards. Stayed at the Pan Pacific Hotel. Great vacation.
Visiting Alaska is a good dose of reality, not always a bowl of cherries. I lived 10 years in Fairbanks and 5 in Anchorage, with many opportunities to charter out to the villages for work. It's an exceptionally beautiful state, with good people who will rescue you from a life-threatening situation in a heartbeat.
I loved your shots of Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island in full bloom. We were there in March for my son's wedding. It was held indoors where every Spring flower imaginable was in bloom. It's on my bucket list to go back someday in the summer.
An Alaskan cruise is all about timing. We did the Royal Caribbean Southbound itinerary in early August with friends and the weather was amazing! Only one day of rain the entire trip! No excursions were cancelled, we saw 27 whales in total, went right up the Hubbard Glacier, and the highlight for us was taking a beautiful train ride on the White Pass/Yukon Narrow Gauge Railway from Canada to Skagway, AK! This is not a flex, but it’s all about choosing the right dates for an Alaskan cruise, but course, there can never be a guarantee on the weather in Alaska…
I’m from Juneau, loved your pics. The weather can change, from one minute raining, then sunshine. I’m happy you were able to make it to our great state.
We did the Ruby Princess from San Francisco in May, 2023. It was wonderful and we were fortunate to have great weather. It only rained in Ketchikan! I am looking forward to going back.
I saved 3 years to take my husband on the Princess Alaska cruise this summer for his 65th. He got covid and spent 5 days in the room. AHHHHHHHH However in 12 days it only rained 2 hrs!
Great attitude for sure! We went on an Italian riviera cruise and one of our stops was cancelled (the one we looked so forward to! - Florence!) but we just smiled at each other and said we will be back. We've already booked our trip. ;)
Tip: Get a cabin at the back of the ship, it's a sun trap. We sat in shorts and tee-shirts as we sailed up Glacier Bay while everyone on the top deck was wrapped up for the chilling wind that blows down the bay.
The shots at the beginning, of Vancouver, , , , , , ,is where I grew up. If you knew where to look, you could see my house from the ship. Looks like You did have a nice trip
Having been to Alaska twice, driving both times, there truly is SO much more to inland to see, albeit having been to Skagway, Valdez, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Homer and more, along with having your own bed with you each night, some of the sights are phenomenal. Seaward, when we where there, was the first time I've felt an earthquake, as we got a good shake...and it was all over, and the glaciers around the area are just so wonderful to see, and walk up to. Chena Hot Springs is worth the drive, as all electrical/heat is from Geothermal, and all the meat for their restaurant they harvest from the animals around the site. I still remember tomato plants with limbs the size of a mans arm, going straight to the roof of the greenhouses, and the hot-springs aren't bad either, nor the campsite there.
We did Norwegian cruise lines early May 2019 from Vancouver to Seward. We loved it. Had some cold rain but did everything anyway. You are correct: cameras don't do justice to the colors or crispness of the views.
To took the same cruise before my husband passed. We were gone in Sept. Stores were closing for the season and of course rain. I will be going before Sept. Next time. Love love Princess Cruiseline. Thanks for sharing.
I went on an Alaska cruise at the beginning of October. It was AMAZING. But our day in Glacier bay looked like your day in Juneau- all day freezing rain, crazy wind, and tons of fog. So the park was not as beautiful as it could have been. I had two different Mendenhall Glacier excursions cancelled, one just a bus tour, the other a canoe tour. Finally I just walked off the ship and booked whale watching, it was more expensive, but it was a nice day out AND we saw the glacier! Our whether in Ketchikan couldn't have been better, and our weather in Skagway was drizzly but nice. We had one day of really really rough seas, and a lot of sick people on the boat, but I love the days where the ship is tossing. Because of the season, we didn't see much wildlife (no bears, only a few whales, only 1 eagle all week; did see a fox), but I expected that. I would go again in October just because it cost half of the summer!
I think that the weather is one good reason to take your rig to Alaska, you get a lot more time to get the right weather and the wildlife to cooperate. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
You just gave me a glimpse into my future. I'm going to winter in AZ and when the weather gets warm I'm going to wander north along the Pacific coast in my RV. Eventually arriving in AK. I was considering an AK cruise but decided to drive instead. Phil, never forget that when you have nothing to do... there's always ice cream to sample! 😊
Don, you can take a ferry with your car as well. It’s called the Alaska Marine Highway System. You could hop off with your car and explore, pick up the next ferry.
As an Alaskan resident of 27 years, I’m always bummed when travelers here don’t get to experience the full extent of the wonders WE know are here. Heck, I can see towering mountain peaks and ice fields by driving 10 minutes from home … but on a rainy day, I may as well live in MN. 🤷🏼♀️ But give it a few days (which you can do in your RV) and the view can switch dramatically! Whether it’s the weather or marine/wildlife not cooperating; it’s truly sad when a once in a lifetime trip doesn’t perform as hoped. Definitely come up in your RV! Plan plenty of time, and keep as much time as possible flexible. I love traveling all over AK by RV and, unless I’m heading to a specific event, I’ve been known to pack up, then check my weather app for a 5-10 day forecast before deciding whether I’m heading to Valdez, Seward, Homer or elsewhere. Follow the sunshine! Airplane or helicopter flight-seeing trips are equally spectacular whether your take a Denali flight out of Talkeetna, a Glacier-viewing (with possible landings!) flight out of Valdez, or bear-viewing flights out of Homer. Marine wildlife boat cruises are stellar out of Valdez and Seward, and the fishing is great just about anywhere along the Kenai Peninsula. Hope you come up soon - and be prepared to see the REAL Alaska. 🐋🦑🐬🦀🦅🫎🦦
We took the same cruise on the same boat with the same result-rain 9 out of 11 days. Sitka gets 11 feet of rain per year. Like you, we had a lot of fun, but next time our trip will be to the dryer interior. IMO, the joy of a cruise is the food and drink! Good video!
I was in Alaska late Aug/early Sept this year, I went on my own, not on a cruise. Quick tip, if you have a day in Juneau and want to go to Mendenhall Glacier, taking the City Bus is what I did. Walk to the left up the pier and the Juneau City Bus is a bit up the way, not too far. The buses leave very regularly - its $2 cash each way ($4 r/t) to get to Mendenhall Glacier. it drops you off a mile and a half from the visitor center site, but it's a nice, paved walkway. You can take your time at the glacier and the falls, walk back the path to the bus stop and get back to town. Easy peasy.
We did a Holand America 18 day sea and land trip out of Vancouver this summer. It was fantastic with great weather, awesome animal sightings, epic experiences. 7 night cruise out of Vancouver to Whittier then train to Anchorage, train to Denali, bus to Fairbanks, charter plane to Dawson City, charter plane to Whitehorse and plane to Vancouver. A whole bunch of exertions along the way. We would recommend any Holand America Alaska trip. This was our second, and the next trip to Alaska will be in our motorhome.
Wow! Can I ask who you booked this through? Were the accommodations good at every city? Was the train safe and fast? Did you experience this trip as novices or have you broken trips into legs like this before? Would you recommend for first time cruisers? And a couple looking for the trip of a 50 year lifetime together?
We did the Celebrity cruise the opposite direction in May with great weather. Sorry it wasn’t as good for y’all. We went with a big group of 12 and also had a blast. Safe travels and thanks for reminding me about the locations.
Love Alaska. When I was a teenager I would ride the ferry to Juneau to stay with my dad for the summer. No going to tell those stories on here anyway. My wife and I took a Cruise from Vancouver up to Glacier Bay and back. That was a great trip. We usually fly up now. To Anchorage then take off from there. Either North for a week or south for a week depends on what we are doing. Lately though we have been in Italy for the past year traveling around Europe. Just made it back from a Cruise from Bari North to Venice then south to Crete. Was a good time but I would rather go to Alaska. Love watching you 2 go through life. Thanks for sharing. I bet next time you go it will be better.
We cruised to Alaska in 2012 to cross our of our bucket list. I've gone back every single year except for 2020 a I love it so. Finally did Denali and now I have to go back there as well. I think Alaska is my addiction..lol.
As someone who has lived in Alaska for over 20 years and currently full time RVing next time take the cruise that takes you to Seward or Whittier. Then either rent a RV or do a rail tour and go south and north. Halibut fishing in Homer, Matanuska Glacier is accessible by car near Palmer. Go to Talkeetna and get an air charter to land on Denali. Take the bus tour though Denali. Get to Fairbanks and North Pole. Get a copy of "The Milepost."
1st welcome to Bring Cash and a lot of it. That's what us who live in B C call it. If you went on the train in Skagway, you got there early and sat on the left side looking forward. With us living near Vancouver it's a quick somewhat cheap week if you don't go nuts. Our first trip was 20 years ago. When looking at Hubbard, the left it closes off and builds water behind until the pressure is to much and blows a huge piece of Hubbard into the bay.
I have been on that cruise. The rain forest excursion is the place to go. Hundreds of eagles on that one. Did you know that Princess Cruise lines has a resort between Anchorage and Fairbanks? My husband and I stayed there on our trip to Alaska many years ago. Very cool place to drive through.
I'm sorry you missed the glacier flight in Juneau. We did it in 2006, fantastic experience. We went in June. Lots of sunshine. Our wildlife viewing wasn't so successful though.
Great video, guys. Got a two-fer, my favorite two channels together. It's a shame you got rained out on your excursion, but that's Alaska. That is one of my favorite places to go. No matter how many times you go, you can't wait to get back. If I'd known about Alaska 45 years ago, that's where I'd be now. Too old to move there, but i can travel there. It seems like ya'll enjoyed yourselves anyway. Thanks so much for taking us along with you. Cant wait to see part two. God bless ya'll and stay safe out there on your trip.
It looks like a fun time, and as you say, you just have to roll with the punches when things don't work out as planned. I loved the spectacular shots, and you backed it up with some great music tracks! Thanks for sharing your adventure.
We had the same experience on the jeep tour at Icy Straight. The guide would see stuff and stop to talk about it, but we'd be in jeeps behind him and didn't see anything. You can rent cars in Sitka and Ketchikan and the drive up and down the coast is amazing
I lived in Haines, Alaska for many years and have been up and down the inside passage more times than I can count. Depending on the time of year, on some trips you see whales (mostly humpbacks and some orcas) at almost every turn. At other times of the year you will see nothing from Seattle to Skagway. One thing you can always count on, is rain, rain, and more rain. I always look at it like this: If it didn’t rain so much, it wouldn’t be all green and pretty, right? It’s all part of the experience. So, the next time you go, the clouds will be covering (and uncovering) new things that you didn’t see on your last trip. So, you now have something to look forward to! Here’s two Alaskan facts that nobody ever considers before heading up there: #1 - Ketchikan receives on average between 140 and 160 inches of rain per year. And, #2 - Only about 10% of tourists that visit Mt. McKinley are actually able to see it. So, don’t feel bad - Just keep coming back! 😉
The same thing happened to us in Juneau in 2015. We made it all the way to the helicopter before they cancelled the excursion to the glacier and the dog-sleeping adventure.
Hoping to see that everyone feels well throughout, as I keep hearing of so many getting sick on cruises, that we've not taken one for that reason. Father in law was laid up for a week on his last, and he said 'never again'! So, fingers crossed for both of my favourite RV couples I watch diligently! Still remembering the sinking kayak trip you guys were on a while back. lol
A friend won an Alaskan cruise and invited me. I had only done eastern and western Caribbean cruises up until then. When you get on the boat in Miami there is an awesome vibe. When you get on the boat in Seattle it's like walking into a funeral or wake. Zero energy. Also, the excursions are at least triple the cost of the ones in the Caribbean. The views are beautiful, but I'd rather look at a picture of the mountains while on a warm water cruise.
OK watching Chad with that telephoto lens reminded me of a trip I took out of Valdez and filming in rough seas, instant pit of the stomach queasiness. I had to put the camera down ans head to the bow to get some cold sea spray on my face to calm things down, my father in law was sick the entire trip.
My Dad wanted to see all 50 States before he passed. He did it, and Alaska twice. ;) Sorry your cruise was not epic, but I'm looking forward to your RV episodes now. We are newbies with our coach, so RV trips are more interesting to us! Something we can look forward to. :)
Icy Straight Point is an THE best place to whale watch followed closely by Juneau. We’ve never been disappointed and we’ve visited at all times of the season.
Have done 3 Alaskan cruises all in Sept, first in 2011 was on Princess, it was perfection, took exact same cruise in 2013, cold & foggy. Had fun but it was far from perfect. Just got off Holland Westerdam, had an amazing time. Ship not as big or pretty as Princess yet we enjoyed small ship & traditional cruising. MDR food was terrific & loved our room. The highlight was off our balcony on last day sailing from Ketchikan to Victoria BC saw too many to count whales! One came up close to us and rolled over! It was for us a cruise of a lifetime!
We really enjoyed your video of your Alaska cruise. We just got back from a 85 day RV trip there with two other couples. You guys should really take your RV there. You can see so much more and take your time. It was the most incredible trip we have ever taken. It was neat seeing some of the places that we have just been. We actually had a different view from what you had. We would enjoy a cruise as well, but watching your video we realized how blessed we were to have more time in each town and to see it when there weren’t as many people around. Several of the towns we visited we saw cruise ships come in and people getting off. We actually stayed at campgrounds in several towns where we could watch the cruise ships. Again, I’d like to say you guys really should do an RV trip there. You not regret it! 😊
Our Alaskan cruise was a lot like yours, however the weather was not our issue. We were on the 7/6-7/16 Ruby Princess sailing where the Bar Pilot smashed into the pier in San Francisco on embarkation day, causing a 2 foot hole in the stern. We were docked in SF for 3 nights while they fixed it. (We live in the area, so....yeah.) Our 10 day cruise turned into a 7 day-er. We had to miss Sitka, Glacier Bay, Juneau, (and the helicopter/glacier landing - that's why we booked the cruise as well). We did dock in Ketchikan and Prince Rupert, BC. The weather was great at both ports! I even got to rock my today is someday t-shirt without having to wear a jacket!! We then set sail back to SF. Luckily we all received a little compensation, so we were able to book a re-do cruise next July. We made the best of what we had and had a great time! It definitely is beautiful up there and we can't wait to see what we missed.
You just never know about the weather. We cruised Alaska several years ago in mid August - had gorgeous weather. We cruised Alaska again in mid-August 2023 and had 10 days of rain and fog! We still had a great time. We took our good raincoats and just got out there. The fog is always moving, lifting then dropping down again. You have to make up your mind to enjoy yourselves 😊 We saw lots of whales from Icy Straight Point and had good weather for our train trip from Skagway to the Yukon - best excursion of our whole trip. Great celebration of 45 years of marriage. We were actually on the same ship - lots of fun!
Alaska is such a interesting State to visit. We have never been as Canadians...but it sure looks majestic ❤ Can't wait to see more through your eyes ❤ God Bless ❤
So Sorry y'all didn't get to go on the glacier walk. We thought ours was going to be cancelled as well. Our excursion was at 2:45 in the afternoon and they cancelled all the other excursions for the glacier, but ours got to be the first to go on that day.
@@todayissomedayYes we certainly got lucky twice this year. In January we got to meet y'all at the Tampa RV show and then we were able to walk on the glacier. We now want to go back in the RV, because there is just a small part of Alaska that you can see on the cruise ship. Juneau is something you would miss in the RV since it is only accessible by water or plane.
I've cruised to Alaska twice. On our first cruise we saw a pod of whales bubble net feeding in Icy Straight Point and the helicopter tour to Mendlehall glacier was amazing. Really enjoying your travels this summer/fall.
So beautiful. I’ll be on the Discovery Princess at the end of May 2024. Unfortunately we have to go in May as my two college kids are going, and that’s the only time they can go due to both taking summer school classes next summer. I already know it’s going to be cold and rainy in Alaska but that’s okay. I’m sure we’ll enjoy the experience regardless, and I’m taking my mother-in-law along for the adventure as well. She’s never been on a cruise and is so excited to go with us. Great video.
We went on our first Alaskan C ruise this June on the Majestic Princess and loved it, and we had perfect weather the whole time. We had friends that were there the week before, and friends there the week after, and they both had mostly rain, you just can never tell in Alaska. We just went the one-way cruise from Anchorage to Vancouver , we got to see Mendenhall, we went to the botanical garden, but our cruise did not go to Skagway, which we were sorry, but that will be next time. We only saw whales far off the ship doing their big splashes , we really just saw the splashes lol! Next time!
So sorry the weather didn't fully cooperate. I follow both RVer AND cruiser UA-camrs. LOVE when both passions collide in not one, but TWO videos....off to watch Chad & Tara's perspective next!
@@todayissomeday I wish I had known earlier. I am going on a girls' cruise in Feb. '24. Can't afford back to back cruises. I am determined to catch up with y'all "someday", either camping or cruising. ;)
Whale watching can be seen anywhere on the coast. As far as the weather goes Ketchikan is the rain capital of AK. You guys got lucky at the stop. Next time going to AK, fly to Fairbanks and do the land tour then cruise back down. We did that last time but went to Fairbanks 2 days early rented a car and toured on our own. We even got to see Santa at the north pole.
I’m in the early stages of planning my cruise. I hear a lot of people say go in May or September. But I’m thinking July or August might give us the best weather even though they are the busiest months?
Is this NAVY vs Wifes? Just laughing out loud you four! Thank you for the tour, but I took this one trip off of my bucket list! I changed it to Fantasy Fest in Key West Florida!
That term I haven't heard in a long while. You should have seen after I got to my first duty station in SC I am a little HM just a postage stamp for hospital corpsman and I was trying to figure out where to put my plate of dishes and asked and used the navy term for it and the officer knew what I was talking about, the enlisted person said wow I haven't heard that term in a long time. That was cool with your navy terms.
This was fun to watch, though the volume levels were all over the place on this one. Don't forget - you can edit your volumes in your video editing program. 😚
I can’t believe you didn’t get off and explore Juneau! It’s such a cool town. Best whale watching in SE Alaska too. Ketchikan is the place you want to go to see bears & eagles. Rainforest Sanctuary is amazing. So is the Misty Cruise in Ket.
Me again. There's not much in Haines. You need 4 days in Skagway to really enjoy it and take the train ride up the Gold trail, and have a built-in rain day. Your RV is built to make this trip. P.S. If you organized the tour for friends and subscribers ... did you get a better deal for yourselves? Did you split that with them? Just curious.
We did us a TA to schedule it. It was just for friends this time. We have a channel one coming in March of 2024. Check out the info on our website if interested: todayissomeday.net
To bad you didn't have an amazing Alaskan cruise. Hope you get to enjoy Vancouver BC. There's lots of fun interesting things to do in Vancouver. I should know that is where I live now.
Even though you couldn’t see everything planned yours was honestly the best cruise video we’ve seen of the little towns. The tip on Ketchikan stores was vital as well. I worked in tourism in Hawaii and have been on so many whale tours both there and seattle and I have NEVER seen a whale. 🐳
Ketchikan and Southeast Alaska are part of the same rainy climate as Vancouver, CA., and Seattle, Washington. In fact, Ketchikan holds the US record for the most rain in the US.
We went on a 12 day Alaska cruise in June out of Seattle. We hardly had any rain and was told that it was the best weather they have had all year. We saw whales on two separate excursions and went to Mendenhall Glacier. It was an epic trip.
Due to the title I almost skipped this video! Video was great! Title, not so much😬 Alaska is amazing! Add a land portion for a really great experience:)

Going on my 4th cruise in December. Sailing on Diamond Princess out of Tokyo to Singapore, 6 or 7 port visits along the way.

Nicely said! 🦟
We took the same cruise on the same boat with the same result-rain 9 out of 11 days. Sitka gets 11 feet of rain per year. Like you, we had a lot of fun, but next time our trip will be to the dryer interior. IMO, the joy of a cruise is the food and drink! Good video!
That is an INSANE stateroom!!!
It was very comfortbale.
Easy peasy.
I would love to go to Juneau on my own and stay for a week or two!
That sounds like an amazing time! I really want to do the land and sea trip but wasnt sure if it was worth the price.
I was on that train and it had very steep banks beside it. I gave my seat (close to the edge) over to a couple who were avid photographers.
I had great time on mine. Did mushing, seaplanes, Helo drop-off hiking! Best Vacation for N. America (Royal Caribbean) was my cruise line.
We were on the Crown Princess 15th -26th September 2023. It was very cool and rainy while we were on the Cruise.
I fish in Yakutat every year. Glad you got to experience Alaska’s beauty!
What fun!! Definitely putting this on my bucket list of things to do. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
We will go again. The Whitepass/Yukon was one of our top 3 by far!
We love Alaskan cruises! Such a beautiful place Alaska is! Enjoy!!!
Just got back from Alaska cruise. Been in bed with covid from the boat. Just lovely.
Holland America is great small ship I would never go super large ships ! Love Hanns Alaska day exploration! 2012
We would love to try some smaller ships. I think they would be more intimate!
It looks like a fun time, and as you say, you just have to roll with the punches when things don't work out as planned. I loved the spectacular shots, and you backed it up with some great music tracks! Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Great video. I liked how Chad and Phil's rain jackets were opposite color schemes. Had to be fun with them. Safe travels.
Thanks for watching!
We had the same experience on the jeep tour at Icy Straight. The guide would see stuff and stop to talk about it, but we'd be in jeeps behind him and didn't see anything.
You can rent cars in Sitka and Ketchikan and the drive up and down the coast is amazing
We took the last cruise for the season in September, and Ketchikan had a huge sale on everything. I bought 8 jackets 😊 Awesome ❤
We will be back!
Brought back memories of the Alaskan inland passage cruise I had gone on. Eagles were amazing! Thank you for sharing your travels.
Our first cruise was on the coral Princess on our 25 th Anniversary . It was not disappointing
Hopefully you can talk changing lanes to come on the cruise in March. That would be wonderful.
Still remembering the sinking kayak trip you guys were on a while back. lol
No issues at all.
I've done many cruises..... But I'll say this much, just like on a land trip, wash your hands often!!! Even more than you think you should!!!
We have taken numerous cruises. We always took Meclizine with us. We only used it when we were in a tropical depression.
Went on an Alaska cruise August 2022 got sick third day in, wasn’t what I hoped for!
I’ve taken 10 cruises only got a head cold on one but I caught it on the airplane. Wash your hands. Don’t touch hand rails.
Incredibly awesome. Really glad u had a good time. 👋😉
Icy Straight Point is an THE best place to whale watch followed closely by Juneau. We’ve never been disappointed and we’ve visited at all times of the season.
We are going o a princess Alaska cruise end of July 2024, looks awesome, thanks for the video. Our first cruise I can't wait.
It will be awesome for a first time cruise!!!
we did the train and the cruise and was great! That was one great suite you had.
Nice Video. Been there twice. you are right the camera dont show how beutyfull it is. Can't wait to go back
Glad you enjoyed it
Our Alaskan cruise was a lot like yours, however the weather was not our issue.
Yikes! I can't imagine being on board and the pilot hitting the pier! Yikes. I am glad they tried to make it up to you.
Phil’s smiling again this week on another ship even with the weather it beats working. definitely looks beautiful 👍
Right!!!!
I love Alaska cruising in May!! The weather is amazing (little/no rain) Try May next time!! 😊
Thanks for the tip!
We took a 14 day Alaskan cruise in 2010, we were able to take the helicopter ride to a glacier it was Spectacular
The one excursion we really wanted to do.
I went the first of September and it was a dream cruise. I expected cold weather and rain because it is in the rain forest and very north
Alaska is such a interesting State to visit. We have never been as Canadians...but it sure looks majestic ❤
Can't wait to see more through your eyes ❤ God Bless ❤
So Sorry y'all didn't get to go on the glacier walk. We thought ours was going to be cancelled as well. Our excursion was at 2:45 in the afternoon and they cancelled all the other excursions for the glacier, but ours got to be the first to go on that day.
What great luck for you!
Thank you for the positivity!
"So much room for activities!" 😁😁😁
Did a 12 day June cruise to Alaska, best vacation ever. Glad you had fun
I've cruised to Alaska twice. On our first cruise we saw a pod of whales bubble net feeding in Icy Straight Point and the helicopter tour to Mendlehall glacier was amazing. Really enjoying your travels this summer/fall.
WOW I love your room, Ship , can't wait to see this video
Nice Guys! - Thanks for taking us along. Can I get that APP at home - I need snack and coctail delivery? - lol - Cheers!
LOL...I want it as well!!!!
Wife and I are going next May 2024 for our 50th. Thanks for the insight.
So the locals have a sign in their windows stating that?
So beautiful. I’ll be on the Discovery Princess at the end of May 2024. Unfortunately we have to go in May as my two college kids are going, and that’s the only time they can go due to both taking summer school classes next summer. I already know it’s going to be cold and rainy in Alaska but that’s okay. I’m sure we’ll enjoy the experience regardless, and I’m taking my mother-in-law along for the adventure as well. She’s never been on a cruise and is so excited to go with us. Great video.
You will have a great time! The views are always beautiful besides time with family is always teh best!
I highly recommend going to Brooks Falls and stay at Gold Creek Lodge in King Salmon.
Born and raised in Victoria here. Hope you enjoyed it.
We have a channel cruise planned for March 2024....you should check it out over on the website, todayissomeday.net, while cabins are still available.
Looks like so much fun!!!
Looks like you guys had a wonder time. Hubby and I want to visit Alaska. You guys gonna be in Foxboro in December for the big game?
You should do it. We won't be there this year.
We were lucky saw 15 whales and Seals it was great in August 2022, got many great pictures!
Thank you. We had a rough time with the audio.....but will have it corrected going forward.
I can’t believe you didn’t get off and explore Juneau! It’s such a cool town. Best whale watching in SE Alaska too. Ketchikan is the place you want to go to see bears & eagles. Rainforest Sanctuary is amazing. So is the Misty Cruise in Ket.
It was pouring so we stayed on board! We really would like to go and hang out for a week or so on our own.
@@todayissomedayIf you let the rain stop you in Southeast you'll never get out.
That Westerdam across pier was our ship. We are curious as to a larger ship vs our 1900 guests.
We really enjoyed Vancouver!!!!!
Even though you couldn’t see everything planned yours was honestly the best cruise video we’ve seen of the little towns. The tip on Ketchikan stores was vital as well. I worked in tourism in Hawaii and have been on so many whale tours both there and seattle and I have NEVER seen a whale. 🐳
Thanks for the kind words!
Title, not so much😬
Alaska is amazing! Add a land portion for a really great experience:)
Our cruise was May and it sounds like standard line is “last week we saw bears here.” 😂😂😂
We went to Alaska in May of this year and it was amazing.
What time of the year did you do your cruise?
