I adore how this came out! It reminds me so much of Portuguese tiles that even hundreds of years later adorn buildings with great beauty. Thank you so much Julie for sharing your gift with us! ❤

Hi Julie, your style is the one I will follow. There is a beauty of simplicity in it with as less color as possible in one picture. Thank you so much to be my teacher of colouring. Your background making is fantastic!

I can't get over how wonderful this is. I started to adult color a few years ago after I was assaulted. My PTSD was so bad and my therapist bought me a coloring book and some Crayola colored pencils. I enjoyed it so much I've now invested in Prismacolor, Faber Castell, and Inktense. It never would have dawned on me to do this page in a series of matching colors. It would have taken me hours to figure out what the color palette was going to be and then I'd obsess over whether it would look okay. Now I've done several pages in several books using the same simple color theme the whole time like this. In greens and pinks and purples and blues. It takes out the second-guessing and looks so fantastic. Thank you for this wonderful demonstration that proves sometimes less is more.

Thanks so much for the sharpener recommendation! I've been wasting much time and money looking for a decent pencil sharpener. I'd never even heard of the dahle sharpener (I have and love their paper cutter) it will be delivered on Monday. The others will be returned.

I am so glad you are doing this picture in this way. Maybe, just maybe, if I do a good job of copying it I will then have the courage to color in the Blue Willow book by Patti (I think) Vidalia. . Do you happen to have that book, Blue Willow? How many hundreds of years have you been coloring?

Very, very beautiful! Your color choices and shading is first rate. I liked The outlining. It adds so much in making the coloring really pop. I do have a question regarding the Posca marker. When using for outlining or coloring in a background, does the black bleed through the paper?

I cannot get my white color pencil to get the blending effect like you do, either with Prisma or Polychromos. I have a long way to go before I can color like you. But can you suggest something. Maybe I should be coloring the initial color with less or more pressure?
