I went and pulled the trigger on the Organic. Love them. Though as you and others have pointed out, it has some very harsh highs. It was actually physically hurting my ears with some things at medium volume. So I ordered Dekoni sheepskin pads for them. That lowered the harshness. Changed the soundstage a little but not too much. Bought the Fiio K7 to go with it (I'm new to headphone amps/dacs) I'm happy with the purchase. Your Organic review helped me make a decision to buy, so just wanted to let you know, thank you. And keep up the great videos!
Awesome video for those considering their higher end options. As someone who's used all three and still hangs onto the Arya Stealth and the Auteur Classic, I agree with a lot of what you said. The HD800s really didn't do much for me but I do enjoy its hipster brother the ADX5000. Something about the Aryas really do make it the most complete package
What a wonderful comparison! I absolutely loved the intro it was hilarious with all the rhyming 😁 I use the Organic with the Gustard R26 R2R DAC and the SPL Phonitor XE amplifier and the treble is smoother, the bass gets thicker and the Soundstage even larger but I am extremely curious to try the HD800S as well as a ZMF headphone to experience all that good stuff that they offer. Btw I'm not a drinker but that beautiful glass that you have your whiskey in makes me wanna take a sip 👌
Thank you. I know the intro won't be for everyone but I like to change things up sometimes 😎 I definitely want to continue with more amp/DAC pairings with the Organic.
Agreed on the cable. Its also not the easiest to connect and disconnect. Personally I wish it had a short and long cable option in the box....getting ahead of my review vid soon ha!
Nice review as always. Which dac amp would you recommend for the Organics? I have the Mojo2, M15 and A90 at home. Would you recommend something else to get? Maybe with a Burr Brown Chip like from Ifi?
Honestly what you have will perform very well. Not sure you can do enough to the treble (if that's a concern) to warrant picking up a different DAC or amp.
The HD800S takes really well to EQ… it’s actually quite incredible how well it takes to EQ. Bass becomes impactful and tight (controlled). I find it addictive.
I'm actually thinking on either the 800s or the Arya Organics, and one of the main things i need is good performance for gaming and music. I'm actually more towards the Arya. What's you take on gaming on the Arya's ? ( we all know 800s is amazing for that purpose, but just curious on the Arya Organic take ) Great video and thank you for the time and help :)
I think the Organic works just fine for gaming. It will be easier to drive then the HD800s as well. You won't get the stage of the 800s but I enjoy the over all FR better if that helps. Are you sensitive to high frequencies of treble?
Great comparison! But have you tried the high output impedance setting on your Cayin iHA-6? From my reading I see the XLR output seems fantastic for the Arya at a 0.3 ohm output impedance, but that would create a very high damping factor for the HD 800S and Auteur Classic, and may be putting them at a significant disadvantage. On my Pendant SE, the 800S is much, much happier from the 100 ohm output than from the 8 ohm. And the Auteur Classic comes even more alive. You might find it puts them on a little more even ground with the Arya regarding bass.
Great points, but it doesn't. It does open up the dynamics a bit more and I get more volume play. Other then tubes, it's my preferred setup with the 800s. Sadly no matter what it's just not heavy on bass. Still, there are plenty of other reasons why anyone would choose the 800s, and I would not blame anyone who does. This hobby is all about personal preference.
@@Skeeb23 Good to know! I don’t have any experience with the Cayin, but I know how good that planar bass is on the Arya (Stealth anyway). It’s really something! I hope to hear the Organic one day, but I’m afraid I’m a bit too treble sensitive.
I haven't heard the Arya Organic but the HE1000 Stealth is only $100 more expensive on Hifiman's official store now and it might be a better choice than the Arya Organic.
@Skeeb23 I'm looking forward to hear your opinion. I was considering the Arya Organic but bought the HE1000 Stealth, hopefully it was the right choice. I am very happy with its sound.
Well...funny enough I have both HE1000's in right now to compare but I'm not ready to share thoughts. Still have more listening to do! It's a tough choice for sure as they all share similarities.
Yours auteur classic kill them both with appearance, there is no competition there :) sound wise I would be torn between them and organic. New prices of Hifiman headphones gave me another chance to try their sound so I did bought Ananda Stealth for 350$, that cheap baby sounds better for my ears than older Arya V2. Basically now that I tasted stealth magnets I'm curious about HE1000 Stealth, maybe I will resist that temptation since Ananda works so well for me.
i had the 800s for gaming and they miss out front staging its all left right and wide no centre no vertical , i traded in the akgk812 there were superior for gaming but not music

great comparison mate, based on sensations and feelings and not on boring and useless graphs like other UA-camrs
I regret selling my HD800s. It's a different HP on Tubes like the 600 & 6XX. The cable connector system is asinine though

Bro you and Midfi guy are awesome at these vids ❤
Good review, thanks

Very nice, unbiased review. So hard to be unbiased when those ZMFs are so pretty 😂

I heard it gets distorted when you add bass boost to it

Hd800s brighter than organic?

Help me here , about to chose one , HE1000 stealth or the organic , or HE1000se ?

@Skeeb23 wow great look forward to that review , hopefully you can compare all 3 of those hifiman ..

That Auteur Classic sure is pretty
Intro was wow
I love Greentea Peng!

Sigh.....were you drunk when you did this? The cheesy intros aren't necessary
