Choi Mujin is like an addicting drug. You WANT him badly but you know he's dangerous. It summons conflicting emotions. He saves you alone but kills people you care about.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that shipped them. Like I knew from episode one what he did but I was really hoping I was wrong or the dad would secretly have deserved it. I at least would have liked a season 2 so things could be explored more. Like imagine them forced to work together or something now that they're both fugitives. Ugh, missed opportunity imo.
@No Name I can appreciate not wanting to drag things out but I feel like the whole season went by really quick. Psycho rapist guy trying to take things down was handled really suddenly. How fast she went from learning what Mujin to killing him, like it was a lot of build up and focus on her getting revenge and she realizes at the last second who it really is and it's just over like an episode later. Plus her relationship with what's his name went from some mild flirting to insta love and then death. It just all seemed really condensed into the last 2 episodes. I still love it and I do like that devastated feeling they managed to create and maybe that could only be created by the suddenness of the moment but still I miss the characters already.
My take on their (hypothetical) romance: I believe Mujin and Jiwoo were always meant to be shipped, that the director made it that way on purpose. Both are lone wolves, without a real life partner (there isn’t enough evidence to suggest Jiwoo was in love with Pildo, just attracted to him), and they have obvious weak spots only for each other. I believe that while Mujin killed Pildo to ignite that revenge in Jiwoo, he also did it due to his jealousy - of the fact that Jiwoo was clearly attracted to Pildo. Jiwoo, on the other hand, depends on him mainly like a father figure (especially as she believes that they were best friends til the end), but is clearly attracted, albeit subconsciously, to Mujin, as she risks everything else in her life repeatedly to save him. I think most clearly, they are both characters noticeably devoid of emotion or empathy in the series, but for only each other they make an exception - they care so much - too much. mujinxjiwoo all the way 🥺
I thought I was the only one that thought this. Also, before watching the series I thought she would have a deeper connection with Pildo but once I watched it I couldn't see it? Maybe he died too soon for them to develop said connection but to me it seemed like she was "into" him mostly because he was someone good to rely on. I was very disappointed on one hand and on the other i think it was better this way because we could focus on Jiwoo as a person and her goals to get revenge. I think she ignored many red flags because she was very much obviously attached to Mujin
I agree with you fully, jiwoo needed someone to rely on and coincidentally Pildo was available, as the drama progressed it was clear that she didn't feel a connection with him until they took the night in the beach house (if you know you know) the only reason she greeived pildo death is because he was the only person who trust her and when she spoke he listened. I thought that at first they would progress a connection but it's obvious that they are just both very different and they both needed to be listened to (she listened to him about his sister, he listened to her about her father), their situations where similar, but I think in the beginning he thought of jiwoo as his sister, how they both were so similar. But Mujin is different, as the drama progressed it was clear they both felt a connection, mujin was able to take her life many times but he never once took a chance to kill her and he risked his identity to save her, the best example would be when she almost got crushed in the car crusher, he was injured badly himself but he knew he would risk his life if he showed up with the police close. I also think in the very beginning where he gave her the knife and told her to stab him to imagine he is her father's killer (before she knew the truth) he knew she would eventually find out but that was the moment he created that connection, he made sure she was the best fighter so when the time comes she won't hesitate to kill anyone. Mujin is the best fighter he fought 4 men with knives while he didn't have a weapon and he was able to get out alive, I'm sure he would've been able to kill her in an instant but he loved her and he didn't want to kill her, he wanted to make sure she would take his life. If jiwoo really didn't feel anything she wouldn't have hesitated to shoot mujin in an instant, but she felt hatred, betrayal of how the one person she loved and trusted betrayed and lied to her. I don't think they love each other physically/intimate but the personal/emotional connection.
@No Name yes I that's what I tried to mean when I said not in a physical/intimate way bus connection wise for feeling eachother like their own blood I definitely didn't mean in a romantic way
Jiwoo were only attracted to pildo and that too after being deceived by mujin else she wouldn't have done that ever, i see strong chemistry between them really, i wanna see more of jiwoo mujin moments
My guess is that, jiwoo needed someone to rely on and coincidentally Pildo was available, as the drama progressed it was clear that she didn't feel a connection with him until they took the night in the beach house (if you know you know) the only reason she greeived pildo death is because he was the only person who trust her and when she spoke he listened. very well writtten, i totally agree. i think the relationship between jiwoo and mujin was similar of father and daughter relationship. He took her in when she was still a teenager and helped her so much, how could he not see her almost as his daughter. What do you think?

Only because I saw your edit I went to see this series, and I just can't get over with it, specially these 2 muijin and jiwoo.
