This song encapsulates Shudder to Think's tension and release style. The dissonant intro/verses make the euphoric "heaven, is holding out for high scores" chorus so much sweeter. I love this song because it's rewarding to listen to and down-right beautiful
I saw Shudder To Think at The Black Cat during the Pony Express days. They were opening for a newer band called Foo Fighters. It was so amazing to see them live after listening to the album on repeat for months.
Cool to see Craig rocking the Schecter PT! Borrowed from Bill Barbot of Jawbox, perhaps? Or is this really just a great and versatile guitar that everybody wanted to play?
Could this actually be the best unknown rock band ever?
+Dennis McCauley Maybe second after Cardiacs!
+Dennis McCauley yes
Umm..yes.
danboid Don't forget Gentle Giant!
Dennis McCauley Perhaps if Gentle Giant never existed
Like Fugazi covering Queen shoehorned into a King Crimson time signature.
Not exactly easy listening..LOL (And I thought Ambient Music was tough!)
Haha!
so much soul into Craig's voice, whatever condition he is in: no wonder Jeff Buckley was a fan of Shudder himself.
(R.I.P Jeff...)
"Scare the piss out of the bedpans" What a fukcing great lyric!

Wow, MTV really needed a better sound guy. I can't describe how good these guys were live back then.
Pure Art

i love mtv 120 minutes cause back in the 90s they had the most awesome live performance ever & that's a fact!
9 Fingers On You is amazing... if you haven't heard it, you will love it and this band 10 times more!
Dennis, the answer to your inquiry is YES.
Even 10 years on, thanks for this upload.
Heaven is holding out for high scores...
such a good sound
priceless footage!!
Dissonce with a huge helping of cut up method. Magical.
Priceless indeed.
You speak the truth my friend. This Sept. @ The Black Cat in D.C., Adam, Craig, Nathan and Stuart will get together again for an anniversary show.
Cool nice voice I think you're the guy I'm playing open mic with Caleb here
they mostly likely are.50,000bc and the soundtrack to First Love Last Rites is beyond copare

He didn't lose a stick... he's turning off the snare - he puts the stick under his arm, momentarily.
YEAH!!!
You can clearly see that he's turning off the snare.
Im here after him doing the backup vocals in foo fighter's walking after you.
nate in those PANTS
at :23 you can see nathan counting to himself.
If only I wasn't all the way in Southampton, England :(
It's extremely unlikely they'll have a reunion show here.
lukerr87 I live in Cleveland, Ohio where the singer is from and it's equally unlikely that they would play here
The only good thing about this band is the drummer.
I disagree. I love the singer's style and Nathan is one of the most interesting guitarists to watch.
