Question. Why do third party plug-ins cut out frequencies better than logics stock EQ?
The db per octave attenuation in some third party goes higher than what the stock eq offers. Sometimes that helps in my experience. Some producers also use a dynamic eq for this. But I use the stock one all the time.

@echosoundworks are the wavetables in your Reese bass pack for Vital/Serum made from scratch? Serum wavetables weren't exported for the creation of the Vital part of the pack right? Just for copyright purposes, as I don't own Serum, only Vital.
None of the wavetables are from factory serum. A few were made specifically for the Reese bass pack, and others came from our other free wavetable packs like the core tables and modular etc

How come these Reese Basses don't sound like what I hear on many songs? These Reeses sound very rough.
What do you mean by rough?
These are chill and tame compared to Reese’s you’d hear in DnB.
I like to keep the filter a little more open for the demos letting thru a little more high end so it’s easier to hear on smaller speakers and phones etc. Most of the presets all have a macro allowing you to darken/brighten the sound via a filter connection.

How the hell can you mention all them genres and not mention jungle/dnb? That's the genre that made Reese bass famous ffs, nobody would even be using the Reese bass if it wasn't for jungle sampling it in the 90s

Because they aren't the reason people are using them NOW. People use them because BIG tracks use them. Look at the viewcount and you'll see quite clearly why it's not a relevant thing to bring up.
