Beautiful Dulcimer! My older sister played & owns several. They are all unique & have their own story to tell. She’s had some strokes & hard for her to play, bit she still tries. God bless her!😇 Hope you have a Blessed week with the coming of our Lord’s birth!😇 🇺🇸💖🎄🤶🏻🎅🏻❤️‼️
Thanks for sharing! Here in Minnesota dulcimers can be hard to come by as well. It's a beautiful instrument! Always reminds me of a simpler time. Great job.
Beautiful tone. Awesome sustain. Fine craftsmanship. Not sure about those tuning pegs since the tuning seems a bit off. Thank you for sharing this instrument with us.
@@KevinTeague Thank you for your reply. I understand the intended tuning. It just sounded a bit out of tune to me. Perhaps that perception derives from playback over this medium. Or perhaps these particular tuners make fine adjustment touchy.
A beautiful and unique piese of art! I've not seen a 'false bottom' before (if that is what you called it). Are those sound holes at the bottom as well?
Beautiful instrument with a beautiful sound! I was confused about the Bear Tone dulcimer, with several possibilities flashing through my mind. Closed captions revealed Baritone. Is that a regional pronunciation or is it widespread in the US? I remember the time i discovered that the American for mobile was moble. America is putting to confuse my poor elderly brain. :)
Nice Dulci. Would be fun to put lowest strings. On one of my epinettes i got C2 G2 C3 or D2 A2 D3. Its good to have very high and very low cithars and not to play in the same strings and octave level than everybody. Long live the Cithars...
A woman who lives in Australia posts in the Facebook dulcimer forums. She and others who live there play the dulcimer, and she has also mentioned some dulcimer builders!
Thank you for replying! Of course I was exaggerating a bit. We don't have them readily available to buy in Australia, with only a handful of makers in the country. We generally don't see 'real' ones in the shops, only the Apple Creek "toy" level ones, and even then they only rarely appear. I know of only one Dulcimer maker in Oz in my state, and he has them available in limited amounts based on what he can make. It's not like in the US where you can just find Dulcimers everywhere. I bought a two Dulcimers while I was in US earlier this year and sending them to Oz cost around $180. @@KevinTeague
@@KevinTeague thank you. I loved your video,it describes my situation almost to a T. I'm also a beginner trying to find my way, so I've wasted money on instruments in search of just the right one. Also trying to teach myself. I think I'm going to need a dulcimer for noter style as I can't manage the chords.

The dulcimer is tuned AEA.

Have you been to Townsend TN ? the shop there is great

My ignorance but what makes this a baritone dulcimer? Tuning? Love the sound of this one!
@@TheWhiskywolf Baritones are usually tuned to AEA and the strings are heavier gauges.

Great sound, try a noter stick . They are great on fast fiddle tunes. IA

Sorry for the late reply. You can contact the builder about the price at jaminstruments.net

Think you've got it bad? Australia doesn't even HAVE dulcimers. Thanks for sharing your experiences and thoughts!

If it's any consolation it IS one of the easier instruments to build from scratch.
VSL? Video sales letter? Vienna Symphonic Library? A treatment for irritable bowel syndrome?
Vibrating string length. It's the distance between the nut and the bridge.
Can a baritone chromatic be tuned DAD or always AEA?
AEA is the standard. DAD would probably break the thicker baritone strings.

Sounds similar to a guitar, just different. I like it but I play guitar so I am biased. Lol
We can't get good quality dulcimers here in the uk the quality is crap!
Better do something about it and start making good ones!
