I have to say in inglish. When I was more young, I like Elvis and Engerbert Humperdinck. When Elvis died I cry a lot. Time when past. In this month I discovert Engerbert Humperdink. Now I am his fan. But I never was fan like this. I feel like in love. He is another men. He is so handsome. So sweet. His voice is inside of me. Thank you.
I think a lot of you are missing the point. He does still have "it" - and that "it" is star power. He looks phenomenal for 76 (think of the 76 year old men you know...yes, Engelbert wins!) To be disappointed that he doesn't still look like he's in his 30s or 40s that's just ridiculous. And finally, don't judge his voice based on an amateur handheld video recorder - see him in concert and appreciate him for the icon he is.
Ah c'mon John, think of all the heartbroken people if Englebert retired. He's a living legend. I'm delighted he still has the motivation, and the love of his fans, that keeps him going:)

I was at this concert on 24 November 2012 and Enge so graciously invited me on stage where he sang to me and, wonderfully, hugged and kissed me. I can only say that he is fantastic. His singing was great. This is live and the recording is not the best. I/we never, ever want Enge to retire. He is extremely special. Extraordinarily talented - always has been and still is. Humpy- is one of the greatest singers of our time!! We ALL age, do you look the same as you did when you were in your thirties?? I doubt it!...go Humpy till you can no longer get it together. He is still touring and the demand this year alone has brought him to Russia, New Zealand and Australia, Canada , and has recently returned to the U.S. ~ He will soon release a Duets album, singing with Elton John, Kenny Rogers, Smokey Robinson, Willie Nelson, Neil Sedaka, Seal, Gene Simmons and others, who were very happy to come and record with Engelbert. Go see his show, and then be the critic!
I agree.I just saw him a few days ago in Burbank Ca. and he was excellent! Of course not the Englebert of the 60s,70's... But what he lost in voice he makes up for in charm.
I really admire him for still being out there. And he does still fill the theatres. What I would do in his place is finally get rid of the sideburns and do something about that haircut!

I won't be seeing him until October, but then it will be about four or five different venues and states, including Count Basie, in N.J. ibster57 Imagine if we bumped into each other there?

I really hate to say this but it could be time for the great man to retire gracefully. Up until the last 2 years he has always been fantastic but time is now taking its toll. Does anyone else feel the same?
I have to agree, He looks like a corpse cariticture someone rolled out onstage as a gruesome reminder of the inescapable ravages of father time and a mere fragment of the incredible talent and voice what he once was and had. He is sailing on fumes of the glorious past and although he is having fun and the crowd still obviously loves him he owes it to himself and the fans to go gracefully.
I completly agree with you. He still can sing a song with more charm than anybody but it's time to stop performing these concerts. I love Engelbert, he's my great idol and I would like him to retire (as you say) gracefully after the imminent release of the duets álbum.
It's one of the best performers ever but I heard him singing last month in Belgium, but his range, purity is gone. He must sing quieter and occasionally , sometimes it was false and for me as a fan it very hurts. I will upload parts of this performance and than you may give your opinion
