I was at the show in Tokyo. They only did one show together. It was incredible. No competition with each other, just celebrating the other's talent. Their love and respect for reach other was obvious. It brought me to tears.
Not only are they all great musicians, they seem to really enjoy each other's company and have made close friends. My thoughts on this video. - The lyrics are a really strong empowering message IMHO - I like that they did not try to do too much, which on one hand makes the music a bit less complex than either of their other offerings, but it makes it that 8 players can play it and make it clean. It would be really easy to make a big'ol hot mess of this if they all tried to do too much. - The trade-offs really point out to me that each of the instrumentalists are so individually skilled and approach their parts in slightly different ways. No winners or losers. No battle. Just a lovely 4 or 8 beat display of the variety of approaches and talents for a solo section. - It is nice and compact at 3:21. I have seen plenty of collabs over the years which turn into rambling oeuvres that don't go anywhere musically. This one just feels nice and tidy to me.

Gold standard collaboration song for me. World class musicians in a jam session, with exquisite taste, restraint and mutual respect abundantly evident, all the way around. And the icing on the cake was Misa ending with a tribute to the bass outro from Survive by The Warning. Absolutely loved it.
I love both bands, but I'm more familiar with Band-Maid (I would know Misa's bass growl anywhere😄). This collaboration is a good way to bring together two rock bands who have so much talent and respect for each other🤘

Composed and written by kanami and miku, with the usual intelligent and friendly to and fro that kanami deals in with the rest. Then I would say one of the masterpieces of production. The Warning recorded on day one, Bandmaid on day two, vocals day three. She had to have it all totally worked out (scored knowing what we do about her) before the first note was struck. She obviously sat down before and sucked her pencil thinking "right these eight besties are the ingredients I'm going to work with" having obviously listened carefully to the Warning's style. The maids are always ready for Kanami's way which is to stretch each artist's envelopes and Dani said this happened for them and miku's lyrics also stretched their point of view as women. They couldn't come to terms with it until they came to Japan and miku and saiki explained. Miku's lyrics are always narrative, in this case she's pushing back against someone holding her back, but then it's a call to arms and a rousing celebration of themselves. Very miku, very anime But here we get the essence of what bandmaid stand for - trying to inspire everyone to be their best self without putting down where currently are. For miku, the founder this is her vision for the band as friends and for kanami for them as artists. They just open up their arms and sweep the Warning into the project. This shows a high degree of spontaneous trust between them all. On stage at the gig the Warning dress in the kind of clothes they normally would only in black and white, not "rock and roll sexy" but harmonising. Brilliant work by all of them. I'm looking forward to the songs the Warning wrote for them and more kanami production.
The song was cleverly written. Both bands can also include it in their programme. It has the typical length of The Warning songs, but can easily be extended with the typical Band Maid solos. Who is playing the instruments is irrelevant. Everyone can show off their skills. Only the vocals need some work. But I think it would work with just Saiki or Danny's voice. Including the harmonies of Miku or Pau or Ale.

These ladies are guitar rock with harmonies, electric and acoustic. They also swap between guitar and bass. They are diverse, they’ve toured with Eagles of Death Metal, Kirs Barras Band (hard blues rock), Foo Fighters Chris Shifflets solo tour and recently opened for Sheryl Crowe and also for Shania Twain. So, hard rock, folk, country, blues etc, they do it all. My current favorite artist is Blues Rock guitarist singer Ally Venable. Her latest album went to #1 the Billboard Blues charts and she’s played with or toured with a who’s who of Blues Rock like Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Devon Allman and many more. Many says its perfect length and also the small show offs should be that small. I am not sure I agree, for me the song could have been twice the length and the musicians getting more time to shine. Now it was mainly Dani and Saiki that was the show. And that is very common. In most bands its the singer it is all about. But, for BAND-MAID and The Warning this is not the case. There the musicians are important. And I think this video missed that a bit. But apart from that. This was mega fun!

My current favorite artist is Blues Rock guitarist singer Ally Venable. Her latest album went to #1 the Billboard Blues charts and she’s played with or toured with a who’s who of Blues Rock like Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Devon Allman and many more. Many says its perfect length and also the small show offs should be that small. I am not sure I agree, for me the song could have been twice the length and the musicians getting more time to shine. Now it was mainly Dani and Saiki that was the show. And that is very common. In most bands its the singer it is all about. But, for BAND-MAID and The Warning this is not the case. There the musicians are important. And I think this video missed that a bit.
But apart from that. This was mega fun!
