What i found usefull to do is, clearing all the bombs but one, wait and tank boss till turn 4 which is when he should spawn new bombs, exept he does it only if there are no bombs on the field. So if you leave just one, he w'ont spawn more, you can then clean the last one remaining with your fisrt timeline character and you basicly have 3 turn to show him who's the boss before he spawn more bombs ;p
