quick rant mid revision: if your not watching machemguy honestly WHAT are u doing with ur life?! theirs honestly no other way to revsise. im sorry i've said it! like seriously im intriuged to know what else you are doing. ok im done.
Genuinely he’s carrying my chemistry grade rn 😂 I’m retaking this year and I only used his videos this year and easy to say my brain cells have been restored
@@Bella-we2sq i honestly love that for u. i bet u kick urself everyday wishing you watched him earlier. im not retaking but i always skipped his videos and now i wish i watched him earlier. but better late than nevaaaa
@@Ellie337- yeah only issue is I left paper 2 revision so late. Old habits die hard. trying so hard to memorise these millions reaction conversions 😭😭😭
Cheers , I only rely on you for chemistry revision as you make the best videos . I have also shared your resources to my teacher who uses it in lessons and shares links to other students
@MaChemGuy how did you know to use hc double bond o at 32:47 and not the other one (in the data sheet) is it due to ch3 being the adjacent environment if so please let me know, and for the o-h and n-h environments in the data sheet when do u know to use them as they run through the whole spectra rather than the other specific signal points
for the example of the elimination of alcohol in one of the questions, I used the nucleophilic addition elimination reaction where acyl chloride reacts with the alcohol to form an ester. Would that still count as an elimination reaction?
At 6:33 I remember being taught about one of the steps involving “decanting”. What does it mean and where does that come into play? I don’t see it here
If anyone is seeing this, good luck for tomorrow! 🤞🏾
you too
thank you :)
Good luck as well!

How did y’all feel about it
god save us all
ur so underrated it hurts
Your predictions were good once again Machemguy

Good luck you two!
35:29 sounds like such a cool teacher i’m jealous lmao
Thanks, James. We do appreciate the details of colours like the bromine decolourising!!
I think I need to rest now but I am gonna watch this tmrw morning for some reminders thank you!
Very wise. You’re very welcome. Good luck for tomorrow
Thanks so much for this! 🙌🏾
Thank you so much!!
What a life saver cheers James
LEGEND RAHHHH
SPOT ON!!
Legendary predictions sir

ur predictions eat every time
Legend thanks sir!
8:21 should u make sure its named pearshaped/roundbottomed flask?

its because in the data sheet it shows that a ppm value of 3.2 is for c double bond o
At 20:43 are these the only ones we need to know and should this be the order to test for unknowns?
you'll have some idea of what it is you won't have to do every single test on one thing
Let’s goooo
at 9:57 which one is the organic layer the low density or high density ?thanks sir
You’d need to know their relative densities. If organic layer density > 1 then it’s the lower layer. Upper if < 1
for the example of the elimination of alcohol in one of the questions, I used the nucleophilic addition elimination reaction where acyl chloride reacts with the alcohol to form an ester. Would that still count as an elimination reaction?
Elimination reactions are also called dehydration. It is just the removal of water by heating an alcohol with H2SO4 so no I don’t think so
Do you work for OCR XD
Hi, do we need to know about zwitterions / isoelectric points?
Not anymore (for ocr a)
At 6:33 I remember being taught about one of the steps involving “decanting”. What does it mean and where does that come into play? I don’t see it here
Im pretty sure its literally just separating the two layers by removing the liquid layer at the top (dependant on density ofc) like ig pouring it out
Decanting means pouring in such a way that any solid present is left behind. It’s not essential to use that word
@@Ika-zg7vz exactly that
@@Ika-zg7vzthank you
@@MaChemGuythanks!
is this gonna be accurate? P1 was bang on predictions
He isn’t working at ocr mate, if you value your grade you would revise everything

Steady now!

How likely is chromatography to come up?
More likely than not I’d say
