I'm an Amateur Radio enthusiast. I love the hobby and experimenting with radios, antennas and software. I have a lot of fun. On my UA-cam channel I upload videos mostly on the Icom 7300 and Icom 7610 as well as Ham Radio software programs. I hope to inspire people to get involved in Amateur Radio.

Thanks! I went though Pierre las July on my way to and from the Black Hills. Ate at a place called Joe's on the way back, it was good. I'm looking at your video and you had SDLink on your channel list. I tried on that VHF repeater that is near or in Toronto when I was north of Hendricks yesterday and got a reply back but by that time my HT was too far away. I think Repeater Book says it is connected to the SDLink system. I might try it again tomorrow.
I am headed to Huron a week from Saturday to take my General. I am really green and really old...so wish me luck. We were in Presho last Wednesday Morning on the way to Denver.
I have the Ailunce HD1. Just got it. Heading over to your Jumbo Spot video. Subbing to your channel!
    Thanks

Hi John, nice to hear from you and thank you so much for commenting here. I really appreciate the input. After looking through videos and websites I realized that some stuff is just not needed for what I wanted to do. It’s very simple if you just want to sit in your house and connect to your MMDVM hotspot. Thanks again best 73!

Richard, great video. It is a lot simpler than one might think. One thing I haven't figured out is how to show the alias for the channel on the radio. It is the only thing I havent figured out yet. I really enjoy the DMR and the 7300 videos.

Hi Tim, nice to hear from you and I was thinking of doing a short clip on how I operate my radio with DMR and analog repeaters. I think I know what you are asking.

Great question Mike. I haven't used it in a while but I seem to remember a video explaining it.I think this is it. See: ua-cam.com/video/WEYUvuoUIAc/v-deo.html

When setting up your hotspot does it matter which time slot you choose,Or is that depending on the talkgroup?

I had to revisit your video here. My HD1 screen bit the dust but Amazon with the blessings of Retevis replaced it. I just transferred my code plug and it seems to be working. I bought a AnyTone D878UV Plus last week from Bridgecom Systems. I am using a Jumbo Spot from the eBay store you bought yours from. I haven't had any problems but I was wondering if you had any experience with the high dollar pi-star setups with dual band and they use the R Pi 3 as a computer vs the R Pi zero? Bridgecom sells a complete plug and play setup with the radio I have for a chunk of money. I am not sure it is worth the extra $80 plus dollars for them setting it up. If I can get a Jumbo Spot to work...I think I can get a higher end pi-star unit to work also. Hard to say even if the extra money for the DV Mega or the Rugged spot is worth it. Thoughts?

You have a lot of great content on your web site, but your web site lacks a search feature, so specific videos can be found, like FT8 or FSK. Another thing you could add to your web site is an index of videos, The index could be organized in some way, like by topics or some other way. The index could have links to the specific postings.
Can you post a schematic diagram of your DB9 connector to CW key cable?
Recently, I had lots of trouble getting DM 780 to connect with HRD. I finally discovered that DM 780 wasn’t connecting to HRD because a TX button configuration wasn’t saved. Whenever I tried to transmit with RTTY or PSK, I’d have port connections errors. I’m going to take an image of the Windows 10 computer with Acronis after the DM 780 port connection problem was fixed. Then if the port connection problems occurs again, I’ll have the option to fix the problem by recovering the computer to the image.
My FSK problems continue, I haven’t solved that issue yet.

Hi Dave thanks for the input, I sincerely appreciate you taking time to do that. Please visit my website www.k0pir.us. I have search and categories in the right hand column. My UA-cam channel is categorized in Playlists. See Playlists in the top menu.
See here for the info on CW Interfacing: www.n3fjp.com/cwschematic.html
I believe the FSK problem in DM780 is a HRD software issue, I cannot get mine to work either with this latest HRD version. I suggest contacting HRD support if you can.
In DM780 all of my PTT is done with HRD. See this screen capture: www.k0pir.us/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/dm780-cw-sendPTT.jpg
      I hope this helps. 73!
