I always come to this youtube channel to find new music but hearing people talk about their favourites with love makes me go back to my favourites and soak warmly in the songs I know by heart
In high school most people would only love music if nobody ever heard of it. That phony shit never ends. That's why I liked this group admitting to liking some popular stuff.
@Bleek Chain I agree,but virtue signaling over Robert Johnson when he only did one good song and social shaming over liking music that is popular because it's musically good,(I was mocked over my Beatles cassette in high school) is always a thing to talk about.

I only watched the first 2 seconds and I have to say, wow how dare these nice people have a different taste in music then me? I am so outraged that I am going to make assumptions about the band and insult them and their status. Now I'm gonna continue living my life being a close-minded douchebag that nobody likes to hang around because I'm so cynical.

He had an easy time having the best taste going up against such picks as t.Swift, The Dixie Chics Live and Blink182. Youre absolutely right. Halfway through this episode of WIMB I kept jumping ahead to what Red-shirt guy was picking.
It's okay... they'll eventually end up friendless bitter music teachers or Ebenezer Scrooge who owns Tool demos on wax cylinders. You can only be that way for so long.

Why would you think that? Look through the previous guests, it's mostly musicians and music enthusiasts. Not all are famous. In this case a not-very-famous-but-very-good band.
So yes, you can like whatever you want. Amoeba sells Taylor Swift and all these other albums so feel validated in the fact that the world’s best record store operates with a simple democratic philosophy. With that said, many of us that love Amoeba and love music don’t subscribe to see music we already know or that is accessible via a default Spotify playlist. We often want to be challenged and inspired. WIMB artists typically do that. I think the fact this particular video mostly fails to do that is what people are reacting to. It’s not necessarily about value but about originality and sharing a curated personal love of music.
A few thoughts I had watching this. 1. Why don't they ever show the album's they grab at the beginning? 2. What happened to men? 3. Glitter probably should never be that close to your eyes, and why?? 4. Why are these people on this? 5. This is probably the worst selection of albums Ive ever seen on this channel. 6. The guy who took the blink record to his mum and told her there was cuss words pretty much answers question 2 and sums up this band. Can't wait for people to say how awful and negative I am ;)
Everything got feminized and music doesn't make that much money anymore. Vinyl records are still interesting though. Kids will be impressionable, but all this stuff changes and or disappears.
If you're huge Trailer Swift fans you're probs not very cool. Much less Michelle Branch. 'Top Of The World' is a Patty Griffing song. Dixie Chicks just covered it. Blink 182 are dreadful. The Killers make me want to throw up as well. Thank goodness one of them at least chose a genius like Kate Bush. Jenny Lewis is cool too. There may be hope for this bitches yet.

YES. I've been so into Charly Bliss lately. I saw them a few months ago and it was exceptional show. Can't wait to see what they recommend.

Charly Bliss is a great band! Their picks are hit or miss, but it's important to support actual musicians in this day and age.
