- Hey guys! Ross here, back for another Daily Shave! Today’s shave featured Reserve - Cool by Barrister and Mann. This classic Italian barbershop scent is masculine with a powdery take on it, to my nose. Really makes you feel like you’re sitting in a barber’s chair in an old school shop.
The Reserve base, in my opinion, does not get as much recognition as it deserves as it can take a bit to figure out how to perfectly dial any soap in this base. The base aims to reach those with hard water tolerances and leave you with a lather that excels in all metrics for a shave. The simple approach is to load the soap light, and add a lot of water (gradually) to build it up and dial it in to where it needs to be. The result is a dense, cushioned, very slick lather with a post-shave that you’ll enjoy long after the shave.
The Reserve line pays homage to a lot of classic scents and if you struggle with hard water and/or are just looking for a great classic scent that also yields great performance, I’d recommend trying the Reserve line. It is an exception base that you really can’t go wrong with.

I got samples off cool classic and spice this guy threw in a trade we did together. Their really small samples but I have to bowl lather them , I usually face lather
