I think we yearn for sincerity but the internet has kind of ruined the ability to be sincere. Being sincere opens one up to critique, or even having their old beliefs challenged years down the line because there's a record of those thoughts being put to text or audio. In the old days only the most dedicated would try to find an out of print book or newspaper archive to put one's writings under the microscope, but now screenshots, mirror uploads and the wayback machine can do that in seconds. Being sincere clashes with the need to have the "correct" opinion and not alienating fans, and even when one has acceptable opinions it's impossible to know if they'll still be 10-15 years down the line.
thought this was the Will Schoder video being recommended to me again. Essentially the same thumbnail, lol. I don't mind, I always like hearing Wallace
Not sure if this has been posted, but I think Jreg is a traditional satirist, pointing out the overwhelming nature of propaganda, and superficiality of political discourse in the evil country.
1:06 I do not believe the example memes illustrate your point very clearly, You say that the second meme makes no point even though it is making fun of the unpredictability of life.

The internet only has one problem, peoole that say they have the answers but only waste our time.
Not sure I agree, even humor for humor's sake has a target, just often more hidden
That's just teen angst and nihilism. Though it's embarassing when adult political "commentators" make it their way of life like that guy
Least bootlicker internet "intellectual"
