It works for Mario/Luigi/Wario/etc. because it's like that in the games but it was always weird -- no disrespect to Lizzie Freeman, she was (and is) wonderful -- having all of the OCs fully voiced by Glitch staff or text-to-speech, meanwhile Meggy just had a small voicebank. Glad they got Elsie onboard to fix that. Now if only Tari was important enough (and her actress not so busy) that our Bluejay Gamer Girl could have real dialogue too 🐦

I really like how part of Meggy's transition into joining Mario's McDonald's scheme includes her reminiscing about Crusty Sean's food; it's a really nice attention to detail and a reminder that she hasn't forgotten her Squid-Kid roots.
this episode was pretty good, i never liked that meggy was always animated more fluidly as opposed to everyone else so having moments where she just ragdolled around and acted more chaotic like everyone else was so much better
I dunno, I liked the fluid animation when she was an Inkling because it helped her stand out in a way that fits. She was The Straightman in a world of Crazy and her more fluid and non-jank animations sorta showed that.
@@pokemonveterank3031 I gotta disagree on you with this, she isnt The Straightman, she is essentially a mary sue, being able to essentially annihilate everything in her path. never really questioning anything the gang does and just progressing the plot, shes so perfect that she gets more frames in her animations, which makes her stick out like a sore thumb in a world of parody, and not in a good way. SMG4 fits more into the straightman archetype because he actively questions and gets annoyed with everyone, sure he might go off the rails occasionally but thats the whole point of the straightman archetyle, where they get so pissed off that they go beserk for a little while. Them changing up her personality in this by amping up her anger and making mario less of a friend (i never liked her calling mario "Red", its really weird) and more of an annoyance gives actual depth to this character, she also feels a lot less out of place with her having similar amounts of animation to other characters, she can be far more stable in comparison to others, but alienating her from even the animation style wasnt a good choice, these subtle changes are much better.
I must say that I'm loving the new SMG4 design a lot. With how much hate he gets for the redesigns, I think it's important to highlight when the redesigns actually work better than the original. The new design matches Luke's personality more and is just more brighter in general, if that makes sense.
@@Triker338 Do not worry, the voice acyor of SMG1 does confirm that he does hear the fanbase, and does try to emphasize the friendship between Mario and Meggy. Some annoyances and arguements are normal in any relationship, but in the end, Mario, Meggy and SMG4 are best friends. In fact, in Meggy's streams, she confirm that Mario is like a brother to her.

What’s funny about this episode is that it reminds me of all the other times that Mario went on a trip by car, boat, and train. And now they’re going on a trip in an RV, and instead of having Toad like usual, we got Meggy to join the trip. Love the continuity callback.
SMG4 always make the best trip stories from Road, Bus, Train, Boat and Caravan! Not gonna lie Mario always entertain the entire plot and especially his most iconic gag for ruining trips into satisfying adventures in every trip plots ❤️
I always loved Mario and Meggy's brother-sister dynamic. But even though Meggy is the more level-headed grounded one, she isn't above becoming an agent of chaos herself with enough convincing. Sometimes her short fuse and thirst for excitement can lead her to making reckless decisions. No matter how mature she gets through her arcs, she'll always be a feisty, fun-loving tomboy prone to mayhem. That's just who she is.

I dunno, I liked the fluid animation when she was an Inkling because it helped her stand out in a way that fits. She was The Straightman in a world of Crazy and her more fluid and non-jank animations sorta showed that.

@@pokemonveterank3031 I gotta disagree on you with this, she isnt The Straightman, she is essentially a mary sue, being able to essentially annihilate everything in her path. never really questioning anything the gang does and just progressing the plot, shes so perfect that she gets more frames in her animations, which makes her stick out like a sore thumb in a world of parody, and not in a good way.
SMG4 fits more into the straightman archetype because he actively questions and gets annoyed with everyone, sure he might go off the rails occasionally but thats the whole point of the straightman archetyle, where they get so pissed off that they go beserk for a little while.
Them changing up her personality in this by amping up her anger and making mario less of a friend (i never liked her calling mario "Red", its really weird) and more of an annoyance gives actual depth to this character, she also feels a lot less out of place with her having similar amounts of animation to other characters, she can be far more stable in comparison to others, but alienating her from even the animation style wasnt a good choice, these subtle changes are much better.

I must say that I'm loving the new SMG4 design a lot. With how much hate he gets for the redesigns, I think it's important to highlight when the redesigns actually work better than the original.
The new design matches Luke's personality more and is just more brighter in general, if that makes sense.

Some annoyances and arguements are normal in any relationship, but in the end, Mario, Meggy and SMG4 are best friends. In fact, in Meggy's streams, she confirm that Mario is like a brother to her.
