Kishore Kumar's powerful effective echoing voice in all his songs is an ultimate quality which even the legendary Mohd Rafi lacks. But most Indian and worldly fans will still consider themselves to be the music experts and say that Kishore Da is nowhere a complete singer like Rafi.
Agreed that he might not have understood the nuances of sur and raaga, but he possessed the most important quality of directly connecting and ruling people's hearts through his magically powerful clear and echoing voice. And connecting listener's hearts is above all else. This is what the non-Kishore fans don't understand.
I'm a truly honest and sane fan of both Mohd Rafi and Kishore Kumar. A sane fan properly knows that both Rafi and Kishore have their own remarkable strengths and weaknesses also. Both have incredible strength in their own singing qualities and hence they can never be compared to each other.
If only classical singing mattered, then very few singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Mohd Rafi, Manna Dey and thereabouts would have been great. But that's not true.
Regardless of their music training, both of them are singing jewels as they have the rarest quality to keep listeners absolutely hooked to their songs for decades or even centuries. Isn't that enough for you, Kishore haters???
