I applaud the fact that you actually decided to help the man instead of being judgmental. We need more drivers like you on the road. It's supposed to be a brotherhood. We need to help each other out. Especially the new folks. I know when I started, I had all sorts of issues of backing. Even now, I get into some spots up in Philly that really require some thinking.

I feel sorry for these new drivers out here. I was there once and remember how scared I was the first several times I tried backing in a tight spot. But it seems like back then drivers helped each other and was glad to help like this driver videoing. He's a good guy trying to help.

The farther back you go the more comradery there was among drivers. Now just like in any other environment people are only concerned with themselves. I have to be honest though, I appreciated people offering to spot me but I hated when they tried to tell me what to do. It's very confusing and chaotic when there's two captains of a ship both trying to do something different.

I must be a natural, been driving 8 years with no accidents, and I've never had this problem from day one as a paid driver. So glad this guy helped him, because even tho I never had trouble back, I remember being scared crapless on my first couple of loads by myself, so many variables and you by yourself. After about 3 or 4 loads, it's was like second nature. Good video guy, so glad to see other drivers helping, like you said, gotta start somewhere, in about a year, "as long as he doesn't have an accident" he'll be able to back it in blind folded! Good video! 👍

Here, though CR driver had room for a 45 at the start; the one I dealt with you have to do 90s and I've never gotten the hang of them. Like I said, a driver saw my plight and helped me out. What surprises me is that even with the help, CR driver still managed to get into an accident.

in Europe, mostly in the western "civilised" part of Europe, they choose to sit in their cabs, record you and make fun of you. I don't really understand how that helps. Even if the driver is dumb as a tomato, why would you want him to crash into something? Get out, explain him what to do, maybe he'll even learn something from you. You have my respect for helping newbies out.

When people laugh at you struggling it has advantages 1. You will realize your not as great as you told yourself and it will keep you humble. 2. When you don't get out and look, you will NEVER become a good driver...EVER..3. you'll ask for additional training.

CR England makes most of their money grabbing any one off the street and ramming them through classes, have them work for 9 months while trying to fine any way to withhold pay then find any excuse to fire them. I went though this same thing. They are trying their best but they barely know what they are doing. This is the level of their training.

All "training" companies are like this. I started with CRST... Ugh... The key is to get a good trainer after you get your CDL and a good team mate after (CRST is all team, I believe CR England is, too). I was fortunate to get both. Now I drive solo. Hate doing 90s... can't grasp the theory for some stupid reason.
When I saw this guy not set himself up for a 45, I knew he was in trouble. Like my trainer said: if you got the room, use it.

After 2 weeks of training and being with a trainer till he says your good is not a good practice. Especially when the trainer has only been driving for less than a year. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Especially on how to back up!!! It's so deflating to not be able to do your job properly.. But i am thankful that we have some caring, experienced drivers who will give their time to help an inexperienced driver. Thanks to men, and women who take the time to guide us, and not just sit there and laugh, or try to look cool by making a you tube video showing some rookie driver struggling to back in somewhere.

I Feel Sorry For This Poor Guy !!!! It Is Not His Fault That C.R.England Only Teaches You Just Enough To Usually Fail Your Road Test, And C.R. England Thinks That A Trainer With Only Months Of No Training Or Poor Training Him Self, Is Enough To Turn Him Loose On The Road, Or Hire Him As A Trainer For Another Student Who Will Be Poorly Trained By A Poorly Trained Trainer !!!!!

I was a trucker passenger before I became a driver. Trust me, having some form of control actually makes it all seem better because you are the one looking at 4 mirrors, out the window and have the option to Get out and Look. It freaked me out watching others park cause I was focusing on how massively huge semis are. However, That sense of control and safety/patience eases the anxiety. If a 22yr. Old girl as myself can learn it, you are fully capable of gaining experience! Being steady and looking at your surroundings is the taboo.

I'm glad to see that you had the patience to sit there and help him out. Yeah, his facial expression was like "I don't appreciate you telling me how to drive this truck" but you still took time out of your day to help him. He was probably just annoyed that he couldn't get it by himself but he has to realize that he pulled in the wrong way. Everyone knows that when you're backing into a parking spot that you have to swing out to bring it in, especially in a semi. I don't know anything about semi trucks but I know for sure the way he was doing it wasn't the correct way. I live up the street from a Coca-Cola factory and I always see truckers swing out in a 45 then back it in. I hope he learned from you and not to make the mistake of just expecting to back in from a straight line and you're respected because you let him do it instead of kicking him out the drivers seat and being one of those arrogant drivers that just want to show off his skills. but let's be real here, this process could have went a little faster if you just got in there with him lol

The last driver asked if he can drop it for me to back it in because he didn't know how .
Than after he was loaded he asked where to park for the night
I told him on the side of the building there's a dirt lot other drivers were parked there .
An hr later he was circling the dirt yard
Because he couldn't back in lol
He asked me to hop in his truck and back his truck in
I didn't have all day I was busy so I did it for him

First I'd like to say thank you for getting out and helping him.
I think the best way for him to understand would have been ask him to please step out of the cab, and point out how to set himself up, and steer as needed.
When I watch these kind of videos, the biggest problem I see is drivers don't (GOAL)-(Go Out And Look..) and over-steering is a huge issue.
also when you're not sure, STOP get out and look AGAIN.
Never feel like an idiot to start all over AGAIN.
I always say whether you back in blind-side or not, once you don't see the back corner of your Trailer, you stop and check.
