I have started to pay attention to what obviously foreign people pick to their shopping carts. It has made me realize that it seems to be common to stick to your old habits of eating. It is in that respect funny, that many tourists travel to get all kinds of new experiences and try out different dishes. Perhaps it is different thing to be a visitor than to permanently move to an other country. Such habits seem to be an important part of many cultures, subcultures or religions. Perhaps that makes it more important.
yes...so true..Since you have seen my pick up...whats yours??I always wanted to learn how/whats Finns prefer( offcourse it will differ from personal choices) but what's your mandatory pick up?? If you would like to share...Also in India we don't have such wide range...I never heard of Villi and Rakha before I came to Finland and now I just like them so much...
@@KabiraKhanna I am not an good example. In my household we have two people who make grocery shopping nowadays separately. Some things have created situation where it is usually me who brings home some products and she has her own selection. She prefers to cook. And since I don't do so much cooking, I tend to buy mostly basic food products. I have simple taste. Others tend to want stronger flavored food. I still seem to have the old idea in me that strong spices are originally preservatives and intended to hide taste of not so fresh and good tasting ingredients. But I have to add that, if I am traveling, I don't look for Finnish food. I am likely to eat Chinese or Mexican food in foreign places, since those have been simple alternatives for me. Correction: It's more likely TexMex food than Mexican food.
@@KabiraKhanna Perhaps my favorite easily prepared meal is lihapullat ja perunamuusi. I don't like the taste of factory made meatballs.. they never have the taste I like. I don't know why. And I also always make my own mashed potatoes. Mashed potato powder is totally different, and not my favorite.
