Oh man! My father's the same! I had dengue and was in the hospital for more than a week. My father had to travel far so he was only able to visit me on my 4th day in the hospital. I was in the worst situation during my entire stay. The staff was on the lookout because anytime I might need blood transfusion. But my dad took one look at my disheveled self on the bed, barely having the energy to open my eyes, and he said "You look okay. Get up, we're leaving tomorrow." Even in my weakened state, I felt a surge of energy fueled by anger. 😆😆
I had dengue fever too and hospitalised for 6 days. My dad said, just drink a lot of water. And guessed what? My mom bought a lot of guava juice and I think I drank about 1.5-2Litres everyday. Almost puked😂. I had to constantly went to toilet with water solution thing(idk how to describe it)
@@nariayon2955 I'm not. I'm genuinely sorry for you for being treated like that. Being vulnerable and sicks makes me feel so lonely, i can't imagine how sad i would feel if my parents treated me like that.... This is like when my mum was forcing me to this particular dish for breakfast, after I’d said I was still ill and had even been to the hospital about it. And when I did eat more I ended throwing up still 💀💀…Patriarchal parents sometimes GIVE IT A REST and sometimes LISTEN TO YOUR KIDS IF THEY’RE DISTRESSED. Thank you.
My dad is exactly the same, i once burnt my thumb with my iron and it was hurting but my dad just told me to be strong and it would go away. And this happened every time i was hurt or ill, he would always say to not have medicine and just get through the pain even when i am bleeding, and at first, I used to think my dad didnt care about me getting hurt but growing up I realised, that he was making me more stronger and so i wouldnt cry for even the smallest of pain and that when i am hurt, I wont sit there and cry but get up and be strong. Obviously i am not immune to my pain or others pain and i am not saying children cant cry but i am glad he raised me like that because it means i can take on more pain and since in life i can experience any sort of pain i wont be weak and crumble in the pain. And i think thats what San’s dad was teaching San, which i think is commendable😊🥰
In my family, it's opposite, my dad's a lil' more protective, but I'm the kind of person who tries to do all my regular activities even when I'm sick bcoz if i lay down on my bed whole day, it gives me the feeling that I'm actually sick and i hate that!!
I used to think his dad was really wise because of lessons San has talked about but I hate hearing fathers act like this. I’m not hear to judge Sans father ofcourse but for personal reason it upset me when he talked about his dad not even giving him first aid when he had his bleeding head injury..:/
I wouldn't get caught up in it too much if I were you. Our parents are people just like us who are having to figure out how to raise us while they are raising us. They WILL make mistakes. Sannie clearly has a loving relationship with his father and that's what matters. 💕
My dad is sometimes like san’s dad too, so i kinda understand how san feel😂 Sometimes i was thinking like, parent did that because they want us to be strong and independent
It ain’t that deep, i have asian parents and yes they have always been very strict but i know they love me wholeheartedly and i also learn a lot from them. In a way they taught me not to get caught up in useless feelings and to stop being dramatic lol. It worked because when i see people crying over useless stuff I feel lucky that i was brought up to be more thick skinned
All asian parents are like that i guess? Cuz when i'm slightly sick my dad tells me to go play outside and sweat so i recover quickly😅 its kinda effective though😂
My dad is same too 😭 Once I broke my hand I was 12 , he said it's fine if you can move your fingers and he bandaged the wound where it was swelling , after two days the pain was too much to handle that i was not able to go to my private lessons, . Then he took me to hospital and it turned out that my hand needs to fractured... specially my wrist but the plaster covered till my elbow . After that now my left hand bone is kinda tilted and it can be seen if compared to my right hand
I know it seems harsh, but parents like this really do help you in the long run. Just look at how San developed into such a beautiful human being and was taught very valuable life lessons. My parents were kind of similar, and I’m honestly thankful because it made me grow up faster and that’s something you need to do to survive today.
not to throw shade on the boys or the whole industry, but idols are some of the most coddled people in the entire world. they have teams of people looking after almost every aspect of their lives. while I don't know what wisdom his father tried to impart on him, I really doubt he ever envisioned his son leaving for the big city and sing, dance and do agyo for teenagers. again, no shame in this, especially not in a country where it's SUCH a big industry, but we're aren't talking about navy seals level of strength and fortitude here
@@Theoneandonly._.yeah this is the issue.. not all parents who try to teach lessons through this method will get it right all or even most of the time. It's also a method that if it does go wrong, it can go incredibly wrong. You could kill your child, kind of wrong.
Honestly, same. My dad thought that since he worked for it and my mom made it all the kids better eat everything on their plate…I have food allergies. 😒 I mean he LEARNED eventually when I ended up in medical distress bc of him forcing me to eat. My doctor said I needed to not eat or touch those things bc each time I was getting worse and next time an Epi pen might not work. I’ve never had an epi pen not work (even to this day) but it scared me and my family shitless so we were really careful after that!
It is totally same as my dad 🤣 I shouldn't eat pickles because it hurts my stomach. And when I want to eat them, my mom always refuses while my dad is like "Eat them eat more dont let the pickles beat you."
You guys my mom doesn’t do this, but she’ll be playing mind games, like if she want me to take the medicine she will keep reminding or ordering then when I don’t she we say something like “it’s up to you” “then don’t complain or show pain”

I’m sorry, but I disagree with his dad’s approach. I get that he wanted to build him up as being strong but that’s not the way you do it. Compassion and vulnerability are signs of strength too.
That's true, but San has never implied that he was not nurtured in those ways as well. We can see what a lovely person he has become. Physical and mental resilience are also important aspects of strength. 💕
San has said repeatedly that he grew up in a loving environment and you can see how caring his dad is by how he treats the other members too. San always speaks so fondly of his dad. While I don't agree with the approach of forcing someone to eat when they are unwell, it wasn't harsh. I think his dad had a good balance between being strict and being loving.
