I've just found this show. They play it late at night on H&I network. 3am-5am. I was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness that works slow but efficiently. It's called emphysema but that's not what's important. This illness affects my sleep. I'll wake up short of breath after an hour or two of sleep. So I've become very lucky in a way to wake up around 2am-3am. House MD starts at 1am and goes until 3am then The District comes on. I really enjoy this show. Not just for the stories, and the unique way they tell them, but the CHARACTERS! The characters are very special. Craig T. Nelson is absolutely fantastic as Chief Mannion, but Lynne Thigpen is so special to watch. Seeing her strength, her love for her adopted son. Her bond, special bond with Chief Mannion. She is relentless, strong willed, fiercely loyal, but also has the most amazing heart. Her character went through so much during the filming of these seasons. Yet she refused to be pitied or coddled, and didn't like the aww looks. You can walk WITH me or get out of my way! Her comment after she had the mastectomy and chemotherapy when she returned to work was a TRUE POWERFUL, STRONG, AND WONDERFUL WOMAN IS PORTRAYED! Not this Disney CRAP! A REAL WOMAN! A woman who cares for her son ALONE! Has overcome REAL ADVERSE MEDICAL PROBLEMS! She is a true beacon for young women to look up to! A real hero! She is beautiful! Plus she is strong! She loves unconditionally! She protects her family and friends fiercely! She is a true ROLE MODEL for EVERYONE! RIP Lynne Thigpen🕊🙏🕊🕊🙏🙏🕊🙏🙏🕊🕊🙏🕊🕊🙏 Your beautiful work and wonderful personality will be remembered forever as will you life will be remembered and celebrated for all the amazing characters you portrayed! God Bless you 🙏 ma'am. You are missed so much, but never will you be forgotten.
I didn't know they still played this show! I have searched for copies of it but can't find it. So I rely on these UA-cam movies. So happy to hear it's on a channel.

The ex-IRA man isn't from Northern Ireland. His accent is from Cork, in the south. McGregor's accent is hardly Irish at all. It's more like Scottish, probably Edinburgh.
It’s weird that this show always uses movie references for justification. As a show that’s based on statistic based crime fighting, the movie references are irrelevant to policy.
Yes but they bring a personalized ideology to Chief Mannion. It shows you how he uses, as you say, irrelevant references. However I disagree. He uses those references for certain situations where similar things are happening and it allows him to get his point across with being an ass. By using "references" and movies he doesn't come off as a boss but as a co-worker/friend/fellow officer who shares a possible way to stop a bad situation from getting worse, or even help someone out. It's not irrelevant, it adds a bit of levity and makes the characters more human and personable.
Thank you for putting these on here. It's hard to find clean things to watch anymore.❤️❤️

I miss Lynne Thigpen. She was great on this show. My kids miss her because of 'Carmen Sandiago.
