Thank you so much yet once again for explaining things in laymen's terms. Great video and instruction. Always good to see how the commands are used to solve problems.
Wow. Recently started my journey in IT and on the way to being a network engineering. You have taught me a lot. I appreciate your hard work into making informative and educational videos
good video as always but next time think of smartphones or small screen devices and use a zoom tool because i couldn't see ip 's on your packet tracer lab .... ty dude.. keep on making us good vids..
Thank you for the comment and suggestion :) I'll heed your advice for future youtube productions for sure. In our training program we do zoom during labs that occur inside presentations. Makes even more sense to do that here since many folks browse youtube from their phones!
Funny how i am just doing an internship and just 2 days ago I was thinking that binary search would be awesome for troubleshooting in networking...here I am right now watching the HSMethod,
I'm glad to know about this method now but i'm still confused about how router 2 was pinged from A no problem, but router 2 failed to connect with 3 from B side. How is that router "off" if it was able to be pinged from one end? I hope the question was clear
would their not be scenarios where icmp is blocked as a security control and instead you would use traceroute to find the all the devices that the trace hops through
i have initially thought the same about using tracert and yes, faster than half split. About blocked ICMP, I guess if that's the case the technicians are aware of that and even if they are not, they would notice that it fails from every angle :)
Yup, tracert -d is your friend in these situations. No need to necessarily split the problem in half (although if you can't figure it out from a tracert it's still a good idea). Also, yeah, be aware that many devices are configured to block ICMP packets.
Hi Jacob. Please can i install one server software for this company, and i also find out this i install a server to a friends company on a Pc than, the company also decide to split the load on that server so i decided to install same server software on a different computer, my problem is the old and new ones are using the same password. It those not allow me to change the password, i need your help. Please
sir, Mr Hess on the interface i also saw switches configured with ip address let assume that we don't accutally know where the problem lies does it mean we should test all the interfaces?, before finally figuring out between which nodes the problem lies

Best troubleshooting video so far

This was a great video... especially when a Tech, such as myself is stumped! You just acquired a new student!! I am a subscriber, now! Thanks man.
You always seem so kind.
Your very clear on explaining, teaching this. Nice job!
This video is amazing. Straight, precise and awesome. 👏🏽👏🏽
Very nice training
Great straight to the point video. I hope you make a series of troubleshooting videos.
That "hald split" method, is the same concept soft devide and conquer for query and sorting...
Awesome videos..thanx guys..
Loved this. Thank you! Will definitely be watching more
I dare say, that was brilliant sir! Brilliant I tell you!
What about using tracert. I would have loved to see how it behaves in this scenario.
XxArtZeroX right 😌
Great Lesson.....Thank u soo much ..hope u will instruct more on network part.
Extremely useful video! But are you able to make the operations terminal screen clearer? Much appreciated.
more troubleshooting videos please
Great explanation.

Thanks for great information🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
thank you so much man....its a good concepts...
Great job
Excellent
wow!..great tutorial
pls.. provide more troubleshooting video tutorial..
cool thanks
How is this approach better than just using the traceroute (tracert) command?
I'm glad to know about this method now but i'm still confused about how router 2 was pinged from A no problem, but router 2 failed to connect with 3 from B side.
How is that router "off" if it was able to be pinged from one end?
I hope the question was clear
It comes into that router from the A direction on a different port than it uses to xmit towards the Z end.
So it's just the port facing the B router (or the Z end of the circuit) that was "off", not the whole router.
I would like to see what traceroute looks like in the same scenario
grat video
thank man i am beginer i really appreciate you video
I wish if I saw this video while I studying Networks Engineer course in 2007

Please what is the name of the software you are using for the half split. Thanks
Desmond Nyarko Cisco Packet Tracer
Thanks. You my mentor, wai
nice
Is there more method or technique in troubleshooting? Tnx
😊😊
Can you share the lab if you still have it?
Thanks for the great video, however I couldn’t see all the details even on an iPad Pro 10.5” unit without straining my eyes 😕
Amit Budhraja thank you for the feedback. I'll use zoom and close ups in the next tech lesson lab I do :)
background music name please my instructor Jacob............?
My question now is, why was that interface shut down in the first place?! Bah
Method noted though 👌 😉
didn't know the singer of boyce avenue is also an expert in networking.
It's called divide and conquer. Doesn't just apply to network troubleshooting.

Good video but not able to view command window plz. Fix it. I’m your subscriber, with bell on.
