That is a very smart and logical design. However I have noticed that with the loops on the sides you could easily take an old belt and wrap it around your backpack. And you could carry your canteens or any other kind of equipment that would normally go on a belt on the outside of your backpack. Just like you were carrying it on the belt of your pants. I've seen a lot of shovels, canteens, knives, and pretty much anything that can go on a military harness that is made to go on a belt too. Something you might want to think about and play with. The way I see it you could use two belts 1 High and one down low for anything you wanted to carry on the outside and you could use a cheap nylon belt of course I would put the Buckle toward the back of the pack so it wouldn't be against your back. You could literally add any pouch to this thing by doing that
Blackie, Always Thinking How To Make It Better and Easier To Smooth It In The Outdoors. Great Looking System For Packing Your Gear ,Hunting, Fishing, Camping. Thanks Again Sir. God Bless You and Mrs. Blackie.
Hello Blackie. I am wondering where the art comes from for the beginning of your videos. I really like the pictures of the old silver wolf around his camp, ect.
I like the idea of being able to add outside pouches. I use the 3 external pouches on my Alice pack for fire kit / tools, rain gear / cold gear accessories and first aid / water treatment / snacks. Obviously, navigation is in the top flap. I can go quite a while without needing to open the main compartment.
I absolutely love the "lazy woodsman" style!! Lol! Blackie, this looks like an amazing set up. I have just an old army od green big bag and I really like it, bit just looking to expand and upgrade. Is there a link to your blackbird system? Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
You should get an extra pad and tie it to the backpack and let it flop behind you …It would work as a sit pad with or without the pack on and you don’t have to deploy it. Just something I see on troops sometimes. Have fun stay safe.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Good afternoon Blackie
hello!!
I thought I saw a Nite Ize S-biner they are a handy lil bit of kit. The pack is an old school design but that is by no means a bad thing.
it is i often use one as the closure on the nighthawk

Are the nighthawks available again?
Hey Blackie, if you were going on that week long trip in cooler weather with the Blackbird system, what would your gear loadout look like?
He has said many times that this bag is about a 3 day pack. It’s small for a reason.
Where do you get one?
🦝
I heard your stuff is made in China.
