i know that a lot of people say "just post what you want!" when you ask them for tips on what to post to gain a following. unfortunately, this tip has been very unhelpful becus i want an audience to see my work!
i haven't finished the video yet, but i skipped to the social media part and i'm really happy that you gave solid advice! i'm very excited to share my ocs with the world, so now i know to share their story too if i want people to look at them. thank you!

I’m an illustrator and am definitely more of a cute art maker. But I have been hired because of my style to do concept art for people and your videos are always so helpful🌸

I love your art style and I'm actually grateful for a video like this.✨ I've always wanted to persue art growing up, but now that I'm at the age to start college, I've been told _"studying art isn't worth it"_ _"Art doesn't pay well"_ _"When are you gonna grow out of that phase?"_
..... sure, this plan isn't full proof, especially with ai around it's harder to convince myself and others to give it a shot. I'm not the best artist out there, but I really enjoy my craft and try my best to learn and share my art as much as I can!
But just like you said at 1:29 I wanna at least give it a shot instead of looking back and wishing I did😵‍💫

The conversation surrounding AI taking over art and tech sure has been fun to listen to as a 3D Artist... I've been drawing my whole life but was always told that "art won't get you anywhere!" in terms of career. I never knew about things like storyboarding, medical illustration, and other practical applications of 2D. I went into 3D thinking that it would be more viable. Then, 2023 - the year of my graduation - came along and the VFX industry and job market faced one of the worst states its ever seen in decades. I realized that what used to be good enough, for me at least, no longer holds up. It's hard to stay motivated most days, but I know things have to pick up at some point.

What you said about creating your own stories resonates with me
For the last 6 months or so, I felt my drawings were lacking emotion and now I've pivoted to delivering that on the next piece
    Thank you ❤

I love when you said your motivation for drawing was just to see what was inside of you, and to see what you are capable of. I relate to that so much!! I feel like people often say that their motivation is to share with others or tell their stories (and that def is true for me too) but I always felt weird or egotistical to just be like, I want to see if I can do it, and how well. But thanks for voicing that glad I’m not alone haha.
Also omg are you me?? I resonate with wanting to hyper fixate so much lol. I understand the fanfic drought feeling 😭😭 have you seen alien stage? Or mignon? 👀 those are my current hyperfixations if you need inspo lmaoo. They are both short video series so easy to get into. (Uh, also slight nsfw warning on mignon if you actually decide to watch that one lol)
Thanks for your videos! They’re always really helpful and love listening to you chat about art. If you have a discord community please lemme know as I would love to join 😊

This might be a weird question, but how do you handle feeling like you've reached a wall? Like you just can't draw anything the way you want and everything looks strange to you? This is ironically an issue exclusive to digital art for me and I dont know if I need to brush up on my fundamentals or am just still bot used to digital art even though I've been drawing digitally for 4 years now. 😅

Hi! Im a contemporary artschool student but I've been drawing/painting digitally (comic/illustration/ocs...) since I was 14. I have a couple tips for this one since I have gone through it sooooo many timeees 😩😩 I hope you don't mind I'm not qrbits!❣️❣️
First if all, change of style! Whenever I started going down that scary slump of being incapable of drawing not even a sketch, I always felt like I suddenlynhad lost a clear vision of what my art had to look like. It went away after a couple days/weeks, but it certainly felt horrible. After some years of ups and downs I realized most of these downfalls happened after having been too many times repeating a style that ended up burning me out / that I didn't quite like. Now, I know it sounds confusing, but it is in fact the most common root of this feeling of not being able to draw. The first huge art slump I ever had was right after indirectly having forced myself to draw in a very manga-like language for two years straight. My entire surroundings drew like that and I felt like I had to too, but after more months being with these ups and downs it turned out what I truly desired was a stylized realism look.
Secondly: do try a completely different but creative task. I tried sewing, ceramics and oil paint. It made my mind forget about being stuck in digital art and even made me realize some of the textures and looks I had achieved with the traditional canvases were in fact what I had been trying to do with digital art unsuccessfully. Huge thumbs up, ngl😊😊
Third tip, and this is quite personal, since that 'artistic wall' that I felt I had stumbled upon was making me loose my love for the characters, stories and comic panels I had created up until that time. It's scary, you will leave behind some other ocs, but the ones you truly love will keep appearing in your mind 24/7. ❤❤ Hiting that wall will eventually make you sit down and analyze what's wrong, and it's probably the best thing you could ever do. It helped me to print out art from my fav artists from all different mediums and styles, glue t'hem down in my sketchbook and feraly annotate the pros, cons and things I really REALLY admire in the margins or even on top of the printed paper😊 It forced me to try and ,earn from 0 and really settle for the features that I admired and truly wanted to incorporate to my art. Not everything you admire means that you should draw too, just keep it in mind!!
      Hope it helps❤❤

@iamluyu Thank you for the response! Ngl, I think it might be a mix of some things and just my mental not being there. I definitely have issues with my art style when drawing specific things, so I'll definitely try to look at artists I admire some more. But I've also changed things about how I do digital art like sketching with a hard brush and using a bigger canvas and it feels like I'll never be used to these new changes no matter what I do. I'll try to do other forms of art but I can only hope digital becomes less of a fight one day 😅

Hmmm. 0 friends. Is a white male. I guess I am just doing work for me then ahaha. Jokes aside. I just need to work harder I guess aha. Getting a 'following' seems impossible. Its that or come to the realization that your art is bad and you should feel bad.... Uh... I am going to just blame the algorithm if thats cool with everyone... ok cool cool cool cool.
