    I know many people who would buy a camera and get one lens to go with it. They would not get another lens ever. This camera is perfect for them.

    Nice video. I just did my unboxing video yesterday. I also went from the silver x100v to the black x100vi. I was going to buy that filter but wasn't sure about the quality. Love that the lens cap still fits.

    Nice! Just a heads up, and if I find the article I'll link to it, but those soft shutter buttons were the leading cause of mechanical failures and repairs according to a recent report. They can catch on things and PULL the shutter mechanism out, causing failure there. Otherwise amazing stuff! Wish you the best 😊

    • @omarhani

      Can't find the source article, but looking through the threads you can see that many people have complained that these buttons were the cause of their issues.

    You mentioned that you like the grip that Sony cameras provide so I suggest looking into JJC Solid Metal hand grip for the X100 cameras! I have one on my x100V and it helps so much! It’s also fairly inexpensive!

    Notice a slight gap between the filter and the lens? I have the NiSi filter for my silver VI and there is a notable gap where there is non on the V.

    Hi Ben, watching you load your new camera reminded me of a lesson I learned and then forgot, and this may be helpful to others. When you put an SD card (old or new) into a camera for the first time, should you format it before shooting? I think problems can arise if you don't. Re the X100VI, it is farcical that you cannot use / fit the provided hood on the camera after you have fitted Fuji's own two-piece solution for weather-sealing. Fuji are brilliant but some things are just plain annoying!

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  6 місяців тому +1

      Absolutely - always format for a new camera! I’d also say to always do so in the camera itself too, rather than in the computer.
      Bit daft isn’t it! You’ll see hood options which come with a flap or something, but not much use when the hood has a big hole in it for the rangefinder 🤦‍♂️

    Be careful with these shutter buttons. They can damage the shutter button, plus they tend to fall off. Also, when I used to put the camera in my bag and wifi transfer, the now raised shutter button would trigger and disable the wifi transfer.

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  6 місяців тому +1

      Same risk there with having any other camera switched on in your bag, always the chance of it firing. I had one of these buttons on the X100V for over a year and it never loosened - the rubber O-ring does a good job of preventing that

    Could you please publish sources for 49mm extension and the protect adapter? Thanks!

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  6 місяців тому

      The filters in this video are just old Hoya or Miranda “Skylight” UV filters. Mine are all from old SLR lenses for my 35mm film cameras - 49mm was a very common thread size for lenses then. They’re so cheap I just popped the glass out of one and use that as the spacer/adapter ring

  • @softmemoir
    @softmemoir 6 місяців тому

    Can I put a 49mm mist filter and then put a square hood on top? Or do I need to put the 49mm ring without a lense in it?

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  6 місяців тому

      That’ll depend on the design of the hood. Many come with adapter rings to add a filter - you could add your own mist filter instead of the UV filter. I’ll be looking into them soon and probably make a video about them ✌️

    Hello may I know how u create the hue lighting in the background? Thx ,

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  2 місяці тому

      Sure! The warmer light on the left is an Aputure B7C bulb fitted into an old Ikea desk lamp, and the purple is a pair of SmallRig RM75 lights up on my storage shelves at the back - but you could use any RGB lights you have to achieve the same effect 💁‍♂️

    Can the polarizer screw into your preferred UV filter? I generally use one a lot.

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  6 місяців тому

      As long as it has threads on the front, yep. I’ve literally just been trying this old one out. One thing to note - many will only work by turning the whole filter when it’s flipped backwards, as I just discovered. So just a case of keeping it loose when shooting, and tightening to walk around/store away.
      I’ll probably order a new/modern cpl to see if it acts the same, may just be this old one. Worth a punt for 50p though.

    which color looks in real life better silver/black???

    • @FamauMedia
      @FamauMedia  6 місяців тому +1

      Personally I think the silver is a prettier looking camera, the black is more discreet. But at the end of the day it’s not a fashion statement - what you do with it is more important 🤌
