I have to agree...I just got done watching the '89 and '91 IFMAR Worlds vs 2011 and it's obvious they replaced the actual rooster-kicking dirt with big-air jumps and compact barely dusty tracks they can call "dirt". It's no wonder why the vintage stuff remains so popular.
Hard packed tracks are a lot more consistent over the course of a weekend. There is also less track work involved if you can get the right surface. If you're running a club with races and practice nights, then hard packed is the way to go.

Nuemann's Durango looks dialed in. He lead all 3 mains, but came up short.
i wonder why this racing is not count by laps but by time remaining?
because the batteries can only do max output for about 7 mins or so.
