As someone with a very demanding job where stuff never goes according to plan (ah the joys of scientific research), I completely understand the appeal of kits and crafts that come with detailed instruction books. When your daily life is non-stop trouble shooting, debugging, and hitting walls, it can be extremely relaxing for something to just work as intended.
Im really looking forward to the Tudor gown! That fabric is so gorgeous 😍. And the fully embroidered gown from the Chicago museum looks incredible too. And im excited to see how that little owl comes out - the other birds you made were so pretty. Don't forget to sleep though lol 😆
Aren't you the Last Unicorn? You are a wife and mother with a challenging full time job, who crafts amazing and accurate historical garments, filming, editing, and posting videos on UA-cam, and typically has SIX projects going at once!!! You are a rare and mythical creature!
I’m very excited for the Tudor and the Felicity gowns! I always wanted a matching dress for my American Girl dolls but was too big for the ones they sold. It never occurred to me to make my own! When I was in college, I would have no less than three projects going at the same time. A small one to keep in my backpack for between classes/my bus commute; a slightly larger one for work/doctor appointments/hospital stays; and a large or complicated one for home. It worked perfectly for me and A Lot of people got handmade gifts I otherwise wouldn’t have had time for with my crazy schedule.
I also love having multiple projects at once, at least one knitting and one sewing, but usually more like two knitting and three sewing :D Think the art nouveau dress is my favourite! Love the simple bodice with the giant sleeves and beautiful pattern!
Actually the first 2 projects appealed to me the most. The kits would be perfect for me both because those birds are exquisite, but also because I like the idea of a kit eliminating my anxiety regarding overbuying (with the resulting storage issues) or underestimating a project's needs and it is 11 pm.. The Belladonna dress speaks to my love of having a graceful, unique and fantastical gown. All six projects look like something I will watch intently when they are shown on this channel.
Love to see Sartor in your video.. I buy there only when the sales are going on, for obvious reasons, but I am happy to brag that I have them walking distance from my home.. Sending cheers from Prague :) Can not wait on progres updates on all your endeavors for next year!
I watched this whole video thinking about The Last Unicorn, and then you said it!!! Thank you. I mean, thanks for all of what’s in your videos, but for now, that reference takes the cake.
You never cease to amaze me!! I'm most excited about the Eleanor of Toledo gown because that's an era I also adore that I haven't really explored fully.
Wonderful projects! Looking forward to watching the full videos. I made the Angela Clayton gown in 2022 and although I've shared finished photos I still haven't published the dress diary. 😊
@@SewstineVery! The pattern states there is 9" of ease at the bust. I'm not expert enough to adjust that amount with all the bodice panels so I did what my Victorian ancestor might have done - I padded the underthings to fit the gown! 😂
omg, i WANT that red brocade natural form gown!! i'm all about the epic sleeves! :D all of your projects are exciting and wonderful! - but the "red monstrosity" is the one i'd put on and wear right now if i could. :)
These are all gorgeous! It's hard to choose a favourite, but ooh that red art nouveau one is lovely, and I'm looking forward to seeing the Tudor embroidery! 6 is a nice number of projects. I like to have a variety to work on too, but have been really trying to get The Pile number down this year, because I had 25 unfinished projects and that was way too many.
Thank you!!! Also wow! The truth is, I t think that it’s ok to stop projects in the middle if we lose inspiration! Artists and painters do it all the time - why not textile artists?
@@Sewstine A fair point, but I want to wear them! And I find the motivation comes back if I manage to make myself pick up the thing again. I finished the year with 12 projects on The Pile, and am looking forward to reducing it even more this year.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Speedy Healing in the new year. I love the Elenor of Toledo fabric you have and am looking forward to the gown you make from it.
I'm not surprised the McCall's pattern turned out to be so huge. They tend to put too much ease into everything, even parts that are supposed to be fitted. I look forward to seeing how all of these projects turn out!
You really are an inspiration for me. I'm super passionate about health care, but I also really love sewing. This really encourages me to continue with both!
I have not heard of The Last Unicorn in SOOOOOOO long. I loved it as a child and enjoy the memories. I have considered watching it again but am afraid I will not like it as much. 💖🦄💖
Well...thank you and curse you for introducing me to Jenny Adin Christie kits! They are on hiatus, and quite expensive! They certainly look like a luxury project experience though. But the artistic direction on their own is already so inspiring. I fear I will enter a hyperfixation XD
6 projects?! I try to keep mine to 2 (home project, travel project) but I am glad you have a system that works so well for you. Those bird kits are so intriguing - I wish I hadn't already told everyone what I wanted for Christmas! And of course I am looking forward to the upcoming videos that focus on the projects you discussed.
So impressed you can keep multiple, intricate projects in your brain at once! I will have to check out Belladonna, always up for new book recs of any genre, though historical romance (cough regency cough) is my comfort genre. Happy to see a new video from you! Happy holidays!
Did you do a 2nd vlog on 🐝gown? The red velvet 1890s gown reminds me of the red-brown Worth at Les Arts Decoratifs. Felicity''s apron dress sounds fun. 5he black and red ball gown for aLA sounds like a dream. Have the dogs sat on the trains, yet and have the acclimated to Chicago. Waiting for vlog on it.

That’s so so sweet of you! Thank you!!
Speaking of the Last Unicorn… how about Lady Amalthea’s lilac dress?
I’m very excited for the Tudor and the Felicity gowns! I always wanted a matching dress for my American Girl dolls but was too big for the ones they sold. It never occurred to me to make my own!

I am living vicariously through your fabrics!
would love to see a tour of your house and the Art Nouveau interior design
I love the title of this video because I want to start multiple creative projects too.
I had a paper doll of your 1890s outfit! Wow, that's a memory that just came back and metaphorically slapped me in the face.
Oh wow! Thats crazy!
Girl I am so hype for all of your projects. So happy to see you again!
I am really excited for your Tudor and Art Nouveau gowns! Can’t wait to see more.
I also love having multiple projects at once, at least one knitting and one sewing, but usually more like two knitting and three sewing :D
Think the art nouveau dress is my favourite! Love the simple bodice with the giant sleeves and beautiful pattern!
Thank you so much!!
The floral-embroidered 18th century gown video and that lovely red art nouveau lady!
All of these are great, and thank you for validating my style of always working on a million projects (whether sewing or not) at once.
I'm so excited about your tudor era!
I'm most drawn to the hige sleeves red dress on the stand behind you. Though the Eleanor of Toledo fabric will be STUNNING as a Tudor era gown.
Actually the first 2 projects appealed to me the most. These are so exciting and what beautiful fabrics!!!
I need to have more projects going at a time, it’s so nice to be able to keep working even when one project is frustrating and needs a break
I love sartor. Their linens are gorgeous too. Occasionally they have a printed linen too. Those are my favorite
Love to see Sartor in your video.. I buy there only when the sales are going on, for obvious reasons, but I am happy to brag that I have them walking distance from my home.. Sending cheers from Prague :) Can not wait on progres updates on all your endeavors for next year!
They all look amazing but I’m excited to see the Tudor gown! The fabric is exquisite and I love your embroidery plan for the sleeves.
So excited for Tudor!!

Thank you!! I’m so in love with the fabric so I want to do justice for it!
Now I don't feel so weird for starting a whole handful of things. So cool!
Wonderful projects! Looking forward to watching the full videos. I made the Angela Clayton gown in 2022 and although I've shared finished photos I still haven't published the dress diary. 😊
Thank you for the Craftsy link! I just signed up.
Oooh! Did you find that that ran large on you too?

You are sew unbelieveably talented!! Fabulous projects.
The size of that sleeve is redonkulous! Those little birds are so sweet 🐦. Hope you and your son are feeling better soon. Happy holidays 🎄💞
Now i need a book rec video and a historical gifts video
The sleeves/cuffs on the dress you are wearing are fabulous! I was hoping you had made it.
Thank you! I am happy to report though that I get most of my daily wear dresses.
omg, i WANT that red brocade natural form gown!! i'm all about the epic sleeves! :D all of your projects are exciting and wonderful! - but the "red monstrosity" is the one i'd put on and wear right now if i could. :)

Georgette Heyer Regency romances are my go-to comfort reads!
@ Oh I haven’t read her yet but know she is the original!

Yes! I was wondering about the Bee Gown! I don't remember seeing it completed.
I think her last video was part 2 of the bee dress!
Merry Christmas
I love your necklace❤
The red velvet intrigues me the most. When I saw it, I immediately thought of a coat from the Edwardian era.
Nice🎉
Would this include the embroidery design for the Marie Antoinette 'strawberry ' gown & gloves please ?
SAME!
-what is sleep-
😜 so real!
💜💜💜💜
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Plus, Belladonna is a plant that, if used wrongly, can kill.
🧵✨🎄
You look like a mother of Crownpince in the Curse of the Golden flower muvie ., Jo yun fat.
