A very informative video. Thank you. I'm a pistachio fan and wanted to know more about this most wonderful nut. How we are all connected to each other in this vast world. I'm from Singapore and eating food from all over the world. Thank you farmers.
I feel so much better educated as a consumer now - thanks for making this excellent video! I like all the machinery details as well. Amazed at the custom machines that are so specific to tasks.
+Dana Todd Thanks Dana...we've found the cracking system can also be used for pine nuts. Big crops this year so everything will be hummingcheersgraham
We were eating Pistachios the other day, and my friend said, "Pistachios are the crack cocaine of the nut world."
God bless you guys for what you do this is beautiful this is all what Jesus does for us thank you for showing me this video I give you an A+ for this video thank you this is William michelini saying God bless you all
I am always fascinated on how you turned something into many kind of dishes. They are so mouth watering 🤤! And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.
Beautiful purple colors on those pistachios, very good quality 👍
Amazing information in a nutshell. Thank you 🙋
Thankyou for an excellent educational video. The pistachio is beneficial to many aspects of life.
Informative and educational. This should be shown in schools!
Thanks for the comment. Maybe we could arrange Greek subtitles too.! A lot of people comment on the expense of pistachios but the movie explains the long processing pathway to produce good nuts.
I love pistachio trees so much because they will send their roots so deep (30metres) to get water and because they try so hard to give you a crop even in terribly dry miserable seasons cheers Graham
I watch this because I found a little piece (branch) of wood in the bag of pistachios that I bought few days ago !
Thank you for sharing this. So Informative. Just paid $25 for a small bag of green gold in Singapore
Thanks Shah.....You'll just have to visit some time...and we can provide you with organic nuts at a budget price!
I Really Really Love pistachios
Great video.... very informative
so in a nutshell, this is a profitable business
+The Reality - Yes...Big crop this year so potential to fully utilise all equipment to max. Fingers crossedcheersgraham
Pistachios are my favorite
This is the only nut i could eat an entire bag of and still want more.
Pistachio tree being shaken “Aaah!”
thanks for the informative video.
No wonder they are so expensive. I now can appreciate its price more. Lol! "About 20 years is required to air dry 4 cubit meters of nuts. Weighting about 2 and a half tons" 4:17 WOW!!! Great video and thanks for the share. Cheers!
@@Nukapedia, I just watched that part of the video again and you are so right. Thanks for getting back to me on that dear because there sure is a big difference between years and hours. Lol! Take care.
OreoTime1 ahhh you sound lovely! But yeah! I’m sure they would be crazy more expensive if it was 20 years lol.
Pistachos came from heaven, there is no other explanation.
good information
thanks
Love it! thank you!
Thanks Bruce, I note that the d Aquino brothers, in Sicily, have produced a new higher-speed cracking machine which can be used for other nuts such as almonds Cheers graham
greetings, i love pistachio
Très intéressant courage
Hi Ahmet The names you use- 'fistik' means 'babe' or 'sweetie' in English and antep fistigi means nut from Gaziantep. I went through Gaziantep in 1975 but never ate any of the pistachios there. I would love to make $20000 per tree from our pistachios (even $2000). Interestingly the type of pistachio trees we grow originally come from Aleppo, just down the road from Gaziantep! cheers graham
How many trees would you need to make a profit for a small family business?
No wonder their so friggin expensive, I spend $50 bucks or more a month just on pistachios, they're worth every penny though hmmm 😋
Yes, they're expensive, but oh, so good. Here, in southern California, a pound goes for $5 at my local market, $8 to $10 at others. They're worth every penny, as you stated.
I was reading your comment and I said to myself "she's so right, they are amazing" and then unconsciously went for a pistachio (because I was already eating it) I cracked it open bringing it to my mouth to only notice a worm inside. I threw it at my desk fast as fck because I panicked. The thought process of me previously eating half the bag didnt help either. heart dropped lol. #badpistachioexperience
PISTACHIIO ARE BETTER THAN ANY!!!!
Wow. So informative and spirited. Thank you for your work in this project.
Adoro pistachios.
he Planting Site
Although pistachios accept infertile, rocky or even salty soil, they produce most heavily in deep, well-draining sandy loam. For the healthiest trees, aim for slightly alkaline soil with a pH in the 7.1 to 7.8 range. The best site also has little or no shade.
Planting Pistachios
Plant 1-year-old pistachio trees in January or February. Dig holes deep enough to contain their roots without bending. Allow 15 to 18 feet between individual trees and 20 to 22 feet between orchard rows. Water thoroughly after planting.
Expert gardener’s tip: Always plant compatible cultivars. Good pairings include female ‘Kerman’ with male ‘Peters’ pistachios and male ‘Randy’ with female ‘Golden Hills.’
Thank you!
It's a good video
Please let me know if growing pistachio in glass house is feasible ?
very informative
If you are growing them yourself how do you check for the microscopic fungus on the nut that gives you cancer?
+suprac19 We get samples of our nuts tested by the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science in Adelaide for standard plate count (diverse organisms - a big population may suggest a problem), water activity, and Salmonella Costa a couple of hundred dollars
Thank you
4:14 mi ritrovo perplesso per il senso di rotazione (orario); non vedo il componente a valle ma lo avrei immaginato rotante in senso anti-orario_____at this time segment I'm wondering why the augur is rotating clockwise rather than counter-clockwise
Good Day
My name is Kwazi and I am a distributor of pistachios, currently I import them roasted and salted from Gaziantep but I would like to actually import them before they're processed and process them here in South Africa, Could you kindly advise where I can get this small scale equipment from?
Thanks alot
Hi Kwazi, if you can email me I will send you all the contacts cheers graham
Originally from Iran. Iran has one of the best pistachio . Pistachio name came from original Farsi name PESTEH .
Yes I think you are right. Then the nuts spread through the Mediterranean area and split up/ interbred with other pistachio species to create to the smaller but sweet, red Syrian nuts and the spicy Sicilian nuts with almost no splits. It is interesting that the Sicilians are able to export their nuts to Germany for a terrific price and they import Greek pistachios to snack on ! cheers
graham
YUMMY PISTACHIO

if they r unwanted in autralia, why is it so freaking expensive here when we take imports from them? $10+ a bag and I already ate half of it watching this vid...nooooo.....
Australia is stupid expensive for food which is ridiculous considering how much produce is grown there. UK it's about £1.60 for bag of pistachios.
Hi, how can I get in contact with you? Pistachio production is of keen interest to me and I would really like to discuss various points with you
