I think precise masking is the most difficult part of watercolor. Your tip about stirring to make sure it's thin enough to flow is really helpful. Thank you!!
Your realism in watercolor is amazing! I'm astonished at the different rules I hear. Like, "don't paint in sections, but look at your watercolor as a whole, and connect your washes." Yet here you are, doing a massive, realistic, watercolor in sections. I guess with a canvas that large it has to be done in sections...like a hundred small connected paintings. Anyway, sorry for blabbering and gorgeous work!
Amazing work, I’m watching this from Dubai 😊. Can u make video on how u r transferring such complex drawing of such big format to your paper, what paper u r using, what masking tape and a bit of on all your materials. Thank you.
Love the video and your work! You have a patience of an angel, have so wonderful concept for your art and make it all so beautifully. Thanks God that you ended in what you are doing.
How wonderful that you would share these advanced techniques on a large watercolor masterpiece. Deep respect and gratitude for taking the time to show us.
It's hard to see what brand it is. What ever you do, do not buy a large bottle because it will thicken slowly. However a thick masking fluid can sometimes be useful, just not for precision.
A swatch of suede leather, with the smooth side facing down as to not disturb the graphite drawing, and the combed suede side facing upwards to cushion the hands.
Thierry, your work is breathtakingly beautiful!!! I've been following you for a while and also on Instagram. Would you mind telling some of your favorite watercolor brands? I've tried a few of the top brands but am curious what your go-to choice(s) may be 😊 Thank you for sharing your amazing pieces with the world ❤️

How many layers did you need to have to bring the yellow to represent a light or lit up room?
Thierry love this video. Would like to know which brush you are using in the beginning of this video?
Really great work! What brand of masking fluid do you use? Sennelier?
It's hard to see what brand it is. What ever you do, do not buy a large bottle because it will thicken slowly. However a thick masking fluid can sometimes be useful, just not for precision.
What is the name of your large watercolor palettes. I have been looking for a larger palette.
What is the material of the sheet you use to lay your hand without smudging the paint?
A swatch of suede leather, with the smooth side facing down as to not disturb the graphite drawing, and the combed suede side facing upwards to cushion the hands.
May I know what’s the tool you used to draw masking fluid?
It’s commonly called a lining pen, I thinks. I found one in an art supply store in France.

On his desk he has a few Winston Newton tubes but most of them looked like Sennilier brand. I wanted to know the same question!! lol
@@camiliann - Thank you, Wendy 😁
@@sisu413 Daniel Smith and Schminke are well worth the price. American Journey is a comparable watercolor paint that is less expensive.
