- Have you guys seen James Charles' Instant Influencer? I absolutely loved the first episode! It kinda reminded me of a makeup version of RuPaul's Drag Race!
This video is a Get Ready With Me featuring the Jaclyn Hill Vol II palette where I talk about the show and my thoughts on it. I auditioned for the show (didn't make it to the top six), but I'm really glad I auditioned and I'm really curious to see how the show turns out! I envisioned it testing out different aspects of being an "influencer" - not just creating content but also collaborating with brands and working under pressure. I try not to give out too many spoilers in this video, but I really love the way James Charles lets the person know that they're leaving.

Aww thank you! I think I will, especially now seeing what the format is like, I think I’d really enjoy it! I don’t know if I’d be considered though since my UA-cam audience is a lot bigger than their’s. I guess it depends on what he considers a micro influencer to be!

I totally agree that it was different than other makeup shows ‘cause I like how they tested them to do the make up, film, and edit. I hope they do a scandal episode that’s a great idea!

I never saw the preview for the show, but after hearing you talk about it, it sounds really interesting and I’ll definitely check it out! I’d love to learn more from both the contestants and the judges.
I really liked it! I'll be interested to see what the other episodes are like, it's kind of hard to get a full idea just off of one episode.

Thank you! I really love the original Jaclyn Hill palette too, but I think I'd probably gravitate towards the James Charles palette more, only because I feel like it has more of a variety of shades. Like if I was going on a trip I think I'd be more likely to bring the James Charles palette of the Jaclyn Hill one.
Also pro tip it’s easier to put the fake lashes on first then mascara to fixe them together

This eye look is so pretty!! Do you have the rose gold naked 3 pallet? I feel like the colors are very muted and can’t figure out how to get them more pigmented. Any tips? Hope you are doing well💕
Thank you! I do have it, that was one of the first palettes I owned! I love Urban Decay, but I definitely feel like their shadows aren't the easiest to work with. Like I feel like they were really big about 10 years ago when there wasn't a lot of other palettes, but now that there are so many other brands creating eyeshadows and palettes I feel like there's better options. So I don't think it's necessarily you, I think their shades are more muted in comparison to other eyeshadow palettes on the market.

I really enjoyed the first episode! It wasn't what I expected at all, but I loved how creative it was! I hope you choose to audition again!
I'm curious to see what the rest of it is going to be like. I feel like James is known for being positive and upbeat, I was kind of surprised to see him give critiques to all of the contestants on their first challenge. BUT I think it's great that he's giving feedback because that's how you grow. And I hope I get the chance to! I definitely will!

People are so put off by his releasing a contestant and then making them do the sign-off, but that is something that has bugged me since American Idol. It's like, you lost--now perform for us! Kinda weird.
Yeah, I get the idea behind it, helping to promote them, but it did seem awkward. But I do think it's better to give them the chance to promote themselves, rather than them not having the opportunity at all.
I think they should either pre-film them and then just play their sign off at the right time, or give them a bit of time and then come back and film them (like the next morning or something).

Kenzie love this makeup look! Also... I wish you were on the Instant Influencer... you would have brought a down to earth vibe like Britany did to the show.
I didn’t like how the first challenge was supposed to be WHO each contestant was and yet... really only ONE really had a makeup look that said who they were. The rest did stories of what they want to help with/or others but not themselves which is great but it’s not who they are... if that makes sense. Don’t get me wrong some of the looks were cool, but it wasn’t WHO they are. Like Britany did her bubbles and colors because that’s WHO she is, a bubbly colorful person.

I think the first challenge might have been challenging, like I have no clue what I would've done! Haha but I really liked the concept. I really liked Britany's idea too! I feel like that would be something similar to what I would do.

Indigo and Ashley were my favorites I love them James and norvina were amazing judges they were very objective and telling each artist how to improve
YES - that was another thing I noticed and I forgot to mention, but I really appreciated that they were really coaching them! I feel like that was so valuable. I also love Indigo, honestly I think they're all great. I like how different they are in their styles.
