That guy's a good rider. I would have crashed ten times on that dirt road going as fast as he went. It looks like a magnificent bike and with those storage boxes would could do some serious packing. Yammies are great bikes, I'll never get another Kaw again.
Ive waited so long for this to come out ,after loving my XTZ 750 super tenere , the 600 was physically too small. But now it is here and very beautiful,it is very expensive( in Britain) and makes the KTM and BMW proven bikes seem more attractive, and it moves cost wise towards the Ducati . It will be interesting to see how popular it becomes,or not, it could fall between the two stools of timing and cost.
Ridden like its stolen! We get the tech stuff and journo crits from print media and online reads, but nothing speaks like good video - showing the machine to do what it's actually designed and built to do. Having toured African backroads on two wheels this is heartening stuff on the S10. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Cycle World!! for doing such a great test! And THANKS Yamaha for listening to the American rider ,This is the area in Arizona I hope to be retiring in shortly and I have been waiting for this kinda bike for years I'm too old to be getting stuck in mud if i want just an off road enduro bike I'll buy one but this fits what i always dreamed for a bike when the pavement ends the fun begins! That must be the AMERICAN RIDER BREED!!!
@SilentRay1 The Super Tenere is expensive than the GS Adv in the UK. The Super Tenere cost £13500 ($21333) versus with costs £11350 ($17936). I guess with load with bits the price through the roof. Obviously bikes are cheaper in the US.
Gr8 riding it is nice to see some one put the super tenere to the max,I have been thinking about getting this bike, but so many seem to down play it a little.I cant be leave the one guy puts no respect for the environment-he is on a dirt road-lighten up!!! That is what dirt riding is all about-having fun at your on pace.
Dude’s a badass hustling that big ox around the dirt like that. I can do it on a dirtbike, but I ride at about 1/5 of that on dirt on my Tenere. Being somewhat new to ADV motos, hustling 600lbs around like that in the dirt is a bit much for me 😂🤷🏼♂️
@bobrushton1 With ya on that one Bob. 575 lb bike (plus accessories) isn't what i would want to have to pick up when in the middle of no where by myself very often. I could do it, but wouldn't want to. At about $14k i guess the price isn't all that much, when a comparable GS/GSA is $18 or so. Sweet bike though.
I bet not one in 50 will get ridden off road like that one was. Those bikes are too expensive and heavy to take bashing around in the dirt with any regularity. Where it most likely shines is on the pavement if it's anything like my GS. The closest I get to dirt is an occasional gravel road. If I'm gonna hit the trails I take a 250 dirt bike.
BMW é so nome .A assistencia é um lixo!!!!!!!!!!!
Way too big. As good as rider was he looked like almost lost it twice in the dirt. I could go faster with a bike half the size. Geeze, it just does not look like fun.
ads like these create just illusion you can ride like that, while in real this bike is way to heavy for anything serious off road. Films was made using professionals riders probably with many takes...
Very cfool to see someone actually RIDING one of these bikes.
That guy's a good rider. I would have crashed ten times on that dirt road going as fast as he went.

Great riding and that looks like a hell of a lot of fun too!
Well done CW Mag. Awesome video, rider and bike.
Wow and he did that without knobbies... bravo!
Both the rider and the Yamaha are very capable on both the dirt and the street.

@southerndeth They now have the Honda Crosstourer (1200cc adv-tourer)
Yamaha Sempre Na Frente ! Perfeita TENERE ,oq sera das outras ?]
The Super T only gets better with each iteration.Great job Yamaha!👏👏👏

Great video guys, keep up the good work!

A lenda esta de volta.

This Yamaha is the best bike for me. For $12,500 USD it is a bulletproof bargain!

love to see a big bike being thrown around.
Man o man!!! Thats looks so fun!!!!!!

2012 Yamaha Super Ténéré Dyno Test
man his a good rider
better than the beemer. I know, I tested both.

Sweet bike though.
Great riding skills, but I prefer and believe adventure riding should be something more relaxing rather than aggressive. Just personal choice I guess.
awesome bike
GS? this looks like more than enough bike to me!
@bobrushton1 You better stay off it then I think it's perfect glad to see it come to America where we RIDE motorcycles!!
@TheReapersSon That's why you wait a year or two and pick one up for ~80% of its MSRP! Gotta love leftovers. :P
Yamaha's pricing could be the thing to doom this bike. Overall it looks like a good package.
@yamrz500 I have KTM Adv S, and Europe they bloody expensive (£15K or $24K). We ride motorcycles here you know.
да , на видео хорош, но надо бы сравнить с GSом, восьмисотым или 1200....
I want to know what that rider thought of that bike!
Oh to be young again😊
I want one sooooo bad !
HONDA - I am going to buy this (Super Tenere) if you do not release that 1200cc Africa Twin soon!
Absolutely awesome. :-o
I'm torn between this and a bmw. I will have one of them between my legs this spring.

BMW for the masses... I want one

He might be a good rider, but he's not very safe.
A W E S O M E
Ja imam isti

Script for hard bags.
"Bwaaaaaaaaa...."
too heavy and too expensive

Films was made using professionals riders probably with many takes...
Lets take the perfect soundtrack and ruin it with cheesy music.
CW
Fantastic riding... but there seems no respect for the environment!
It was a gravel, road, it wasn't like he was trail blazing!
gs is better :)
