"Just that feeling got me, I wish music could adopt me" - The Legendary E Double
no doubt
DOPE !!!!
Epmd
you gots to chill
Maaaaan I remember hearing when EPMD broke up.. I cried like a baby. Erick Sermon is one of the greatest to ever do it.. Either rhyming or producing.. He's a legend for real!
I understand the crying part because rappers back then where like our superheroes. I would cry at some concerts because I as wanted to do what they were doing!
EPMD, ATCQ and Pete Rock & CL Smooth... those three break-ups destroyed me, because they were my childhood. Hip hop just wasn't the same anymore.
@@KtotheGPete Rock & CL Smooth... Damn!
Straight up same here, Double or Nothing still in heavy rotation
@@AbbeyAdebAm still hoping they put out a album
EPMD🔥
"Sit back and relax, let my rhymes tax. Maintain MCs while the Double E macks. Always calm under pressure, no need to act ill. Listen when I tell you, boy. You gots to chill."
#SALUTE E-Double‼️👑
Damn❤
Thank you for making it possible Erick Sermon!!! I’m 46 turning 47 this summer THANK YOU!!!
Same 47 9/13
When talking about the greatest rap albums of all time, I rarely hear the Strictly Business album mentioned. I think it's definitely one of the cornerstones of hip hop. The album was ahead of its time and brought funk to hip hop in a big way. A true timeless classic! Salute to Erick Sermon!
You said that the best
100%
Facts.
Too Short brought funk to hip hop, that's why EPMD went to Oakland, CA and learn to get band members to play it live....way more funky! FACTS!
@@djknockinbeats5092 Interesting, I've never heard this story. What year did this happen?
I appreciate the artistry of Erick Sermon aka E Double aka Green Eyed Bandit, a legendary producer and rapper whose innovative beats continue to influence the hip-hop genre. Thank you Sway and Team as always
The 4 greatest albums in hip hop history. All from one group.
hip hop has to be separated from gansta rap, thats how the appreciation for hip hop left and can be brought back
He looks Great! PAUSE, for his age! I met the Green eyes bandit and Parish on a promo run, at a record store in the Philly metro! I freestyled for him! It was like 1995/96 around that era.
I swear I was just thinking about the “Rappers Delight” scene in “The Wedding Singer” when this video popped up in my recommendations! Fun fact: Ellen Albertini Dow, who was 83 years old in that movie, performed “Def Squad Delite” with Erick Sermon, Redman and Keith Murray on Sinbad’s late-night talk show “Vibe,” to promote “The Wedding Singer” and Def Squad’s album “El Niño.” Sadly, she died at 101 years old back in 2015. R.I.P. to the O.G. (Original Grandma).
Funkorama he produced by Redman is slamming! He deserves much respect and acclaim.
One of my favorites!!!
Do Your Thing = Funkorama….lotta people missed how E flipped his own track…absolute 🔥
E Dub kept it 💯 with everything in this interview. It takes a strong person to talk about their shortcomings
Ageism is everywhere but the elders are doing their thing right now.
Its called "IGNORANCE".
They are stepping up big time, and I love it👍👍
I've been speaking against ageism in hip hop ever since the early '00s when a lot of the old school rappers from the '80s were turning 30 and still rappin' but catching flak. Hip hop, no doubt, started out as a youth culture, but that doesn't mean that it had to remain that way. The pioneers were kids when they created it, but they laid down the foundation for us. So it's up to us to make it grow and keep it going. That doesn't mean we should abandon it when we get older.
Hey brotha Erick, that meant the world for you to share that journey about the drugs and what effect it had and how you overcame!!!! 😢 WOW 👌🏾 👏🏾 😍 👍🏾 🥰 R.I.P. to your moms 👩🏽 ❤️ 💕 You are an amazing individual 👏🏾 GOD BLESS 🙌🏾 🙏🏾
Salute Erick Sermon THANK YOU for everything you've given the culture and fans
One of the most slept on beat makers ever! Rock the house is one of my favorite beats. Salute
Not really slept on ☝🏼 Look at all his production discography, especially in the mid to late 90s "Strictly Business" will forever be my favourite
Hip hop needs the 80's 90's rappers and producers to make some new and improved hip hop music, that would a breath of fresh air, bring some positive vibes back in the music business frfr💯💯
props to Erick Sermon, a true Pioneer in Hip Hop Music & Culture 💯
I'm glad to hear and see that he kicked that addiction. Salute. 👍
Ageism in Hip-hop and within our people is absolutely crazy.. he's absolutely right, because you won't hear the greats in other music genres or the "older" artists or people in other cultures referred to the same as we do..smh.. they're usually identified from each other as "The Great- so and so".. or the "Legendary-so and so"...
Thank You for the years of amazing music. EPMD was the soundtrack to my highschool years. The greatest!!
U damn right 💯💯💯
Salute & Gratitude Eric Sermon aka Green eyed bandit One of my fav Producers/ Mc's, Been a fan of the music since 1988 EPMD played a major Role in my love for hip hop. one luv from a Hip Hop head from the South side of Chicago.
Eric Sermon finally said it...this garage these kids listening to is going to be short lived.
u mean garbage???
All his interviews be dope FULL OF HIP HOP KNOWLEDGE!!!!!💯🦾🦍👊🏾
LL and Big Daddy Kane continue to say what Eric is talking about. Black culture must support our music and movies. When they say it's impossible, make it possible. Make music that make sense. Great interview
When I was growing up we had EPMD and Gangstar my life is a lot better for it ❤
I just cried 😢 when I heard his story about prescription drug addiction. God bless you and keep doing good. So sorry to hear that you lost your mom.
OMG. That interview was epic. E Double was so real. He's my GOAT. That strictly business made me take hip hop serious cause I could relate to it, AND it was fun.
E Dubb!! The GOAT!!!
I ran into Erick and Keith Murray in Harlem on 113th at the Black Ink shop when it used to be a weed shop. You had to be there.
top 5, my favorite artist, rapper, mc and producer, Serm and Quik is in my top 2, verses i don't even think Dre can match up, great guy seems to be, awesome interview with Sway to get the Dude, open, but the respect is even multiplied now for sharing the about his addiction and never would've known .Me being a recovered user and dealer, from the biological warfare of the crack epidemic in the mid to late 80's, i'm 35 yrs old, meaning sobriety, i saw you kept wiping your cup, one day at a time, we need another Chilltown, The Original Funk Lordian
GRATITUDE 💥🤩💥
Salute 👑 to my thun Erick sermon💯💯💯✌✊
Ayyyye, it's the E Dub
Eric was in Atlanta back in the early 1990s, smashing Left Eye.
Green-Eye Bandit@Eric Sermon 🙌🏼💫
Last time i got that feeling feeling from a song was Conway and cool and dre give give. Super soulful
I have the 30 minute mark on repeat. Listen to the wisdom, young bucks! Listen to it!
He does have to keep doing it, because he loves music. Whether he has money or not he likes music. I hate when people think once you have money your supposed to stop loving the what you do..(its a weird motivation).
God bless you brotha on recovery! Addiction is a serious illness!
I still play that Insomnia compilation album, that shit was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 peace to the entire Hitsquad.
I have the 30 minute mark on repeat. The WISDOM!
Sway outdid himself with this interview. Marvelous.
E Double!!!
Love the Green eye bandit, aka E double.EPMD one of my favorite groups of all times.Erick is one of the best producers ever.
One of the best interviews.
EPMD, E Double, much respect.
You’re never to old to Create Art, because one day it becomes an Artifact.
Salute To E Double #Iconic
I feel Eric. I’m 56 yrs old. I’m doing for some old new music. I’m from that boom bap area.
68K views???? WHY?!?!??! This should have waaaaay more views!! EDubb is making soooo much sense!!! He's striving for music to be music to fit those who love music but yet isn't intune wit today's music because today's music is stagnant. Very underrated producer but mad respected!!
Great interview and continue to do your thing!
great interview, PEACE KING🇿🇦
I remember K Solo and Spellbound. He was in the video for So What You Sayin.
Then come to find out DMX wrote "Spellbound" as according from him.
I went with some friends to Erick Sermon concert in Copenhagen in 2003 and after the performance he was hanging out in the lounge.
We greeted him and he was cool. He seemed tired, but had no negative attitude. He was cool.
One of my favorite rap artists and producers of all-time!! Glad I had the pleasure of meeting him and Parrish this past November on THE ROCK THE BELLS CRUISE! Been down with him since '93.. Will always be a fan! Down humble cool dude! We still love Hip-Hop! Also one of my inspirations as as someone who raps myself! 🎤🎼

E Dub is my fav Hip Hop personality. To me he's the most blessed producer, his music is always well crafted. Plus he's nice the way he keeps it real.
I saw EPMD live in London 1991 & 1992….Brixton Academy. They headlined with PUBLIC ENEMY & GANG STARR and the following year with A TRIBE CALLED QUEST. Absolute legends 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
