And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides And a dark wind blows The government is corrupt And we're on so many drugs With the radio on and the curtains drawn We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine And the machine is bleeding to death The sun has fallen down And the billboards are all leering And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles It went like this: The buildings tumbled in on themselves Mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble And pulled out their hair The skyline was beautiful on fire All twisted metal stretching upwards Everything washed in a thin orange haze I said: "kiss me, you're beautiful - These are truly the last days" You grabbed my hand and we fell into it Like a daydream or a fever We woke up one morning and fell a little further down - For sure it's the valley of death I open up my wallet And it's full of blood
There in the starless dark, the poise, the hover, There with vast wings across the cancelled skies, There in the sudden blackness, the black pall Of nothing, nothing, nothing - nothing at all.
Everytime the poem starts, my mind wanders. I begin to see the fire, the people. I feel the last kiss while my eyes fill with tears because of something that never truly happened to me, but could happen. I feel like someone whose life was lost and there was nothing to be done about it. Then, the music ends, the poem fades, and I'm back in my own reality. The tears fade. Thank you for this compilation.
Far from telling you its going to be ok, it lets you know that you are not alone in this endless struggle. Countless others fall in your footsteps, and side by side.
That would be very sad. I hope post-rock will evolve in the future, because, if it only stays where it is now, at some point it will die out, just like any other genre that did that.
Now I gotta listen to that album for hours again. I got goosebumps just reading the title of this. Lovely mix as always my friend. Keeps my mind at peace and my soul happy 💚
In these hard times, I was waiting for this moment, dear Mr. WHPR... now i can finally rest... love and encouragement from Arequipa, Peru... #YoMeQuedoEnCasa #StayHome #IoRestoAcasa
Would you be willing to make a post-rock mix that feels like it's screaming? You have so many lovely relaxed study chill ones but I really just need to scream. Thanks for reading ^^
I've listened to a lot of post rock, and never really heard a song that feels like it's screaming. Maybe I just haven't listened to ALL post rock? My suggestion, though, is to find some good cascadian black metal. Lots of post rock vibes, and then you have the metal screaming. My girlfriend, who is a big post rock fan, actually got into the metal I listen to because, to her, "It sounds so post rock." lol. Again, it depends on the metal, but I found Cascadian Black Metal matches the whole shoe gaze / post rock vibe. It just gets pretty intense in spots with screaming / music.
This title reminds me of the ending of Stephen King's Under the Dome, where the police officer Henry Morrison (If I remember his name correctly) tries to evacuate people in a school bus in a middle of a firestorm and meets his end while doing so
Why are there mid-roll ads on all of these? I love listening to them as I go to sleep but it gets ruined by an ad every 10 minutes. I understand an before the video, but during it?
:)) amazing, just right in time. there's a elections are under way in my country, preliminary results show 40% support for the ruling party - pis (law and justice). fuck, if they win, I will not go out on the street (I'm LGBT) without feeling safe. in a country where I've lived for generations. I'm litterally crying right now, I don't want to live in here

We're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine
And the machine is bleeding to death
The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
It went like this:
The buildings tumbled in on themselves
Mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble
And pulled out their hair
The skyline was beautiful on fire
All twisted metal stretching upwards
Everything washed in a thin orange haze
I said: "kiss me, you're beautiful -
These are truly the last days"
You grabbed my hand and we fell into it
Like a daydream or a fever
We woke up one morning and fell a little further down -
For sure it's the valley of death
I open up my wallet
And it's full of blood
i love F#A#infinity so fucking much
that’s amazing
I recognize those lyrics, it's from one of Godspeed You Black Emperor albums. Really fits those days, isn't it? Great to find another fan down here.
I'm sorry, but, what is this? It sounded amazing with the music.
Song name? This sounds amazing
Sitting on my windowsill, drinking a cup of tea and listening to this while a thunderstorm rages outside.
No drug could ever compare.
Thats the type of stuff you wanna do on psychadelics.
Falling down the rabbit hole.
Again.
The world does feel like it's about to end.
Odd.
@Divinital true enough
The opening vocals scare me and make me so emotional at the same time
There in the starless dark, the poise, the hover,
There with vast wings across the cancelled skies,
There in the sudden blackness, the black pall
Of nothing, nothing, nothing - nothing at all.
One of the best I have recently listened to. Greetings from Istanbul.

Thumbs up for Title relevance.
Relevance as your understanding irrelevance to counterargument
I come back and listen to this every month or so and the world keeps descending more and more. This world is truly on fire...
literally now
For the last like 6 days I've been so anxious and uneasy. Why is this the thing that puts my mind and nerves at ease? Lol
Sarah Hankins Maybe we're starting to come to terms with our fate. Maybe we have embraced the end with outstretched arms.

I think this is gonna be the last rock genre, ever formed in a strange generation.
That would be very sad. I hope post-rock will evolve in the future, because, if it only stays where it is now, at some point it will die out, just like any other genre that did that.
Honestly, the whole F#A# album from GY!BA is the 2020 soundtrack rn
I think it's the soundtrack of a failing system. Which means it becomes more and more relevant as time passes.
So beautiful...
Dead Flag Blues... it is a staple of my existence.
Un título perfecto para estos tiempos en los que vivimos.
Coincido

red forest hit me hard but there is no pain
With everything going in today, I had to sit back and just listen to this....
The world is burning and we are watching it burn in a slow dance!
Been waiting for another one of these not an album but a mix like your others........
I’m not disappointed
Fascinating! After that annoying intermissions you are close to switch it off, but when you hear the music you bless it!
in the embers we lay
from the ashes we rise
Sons of humanity,
For once the thought,
Of death and pestilence,
Has cross the mind yet again,
For those, are not,
But our own fault.
Did u write this? Cause it's incredible
perfect title for the corona virus

Hermosa música para apreciar la belleza escondida en el caos.

deafheaven is a post rock, shoegaze, and metal group
You can listen to crystal castles or crim3s songs they are really good
Try Isis especially Oceanic, or maybe a Determinism of Morality by Rosetta
Try MONO, eg Recoil Ignite. IMO they manage to convey the scream there
Thank you, it's like hell but I don't care anymore
@Divinital "I don't want to die, but I ain't keen on living either."
this channel is my favourite forever
More accurate now than ever in most our lives...
I forgot I had this on and that windy swell at 35:48 came out of nowhere and I damn near shit myself.

How relevant now!

Go to the end of the video and replay it.
channel owner is not putting them. there is copyright issues when you publish a work of others so ads are compulsory
