I hope these people realize what a gem he is in martial arts and realize he knows more about fight than anyone in that room . That they are so lucky to be learning something from him I'm grateful just to have it on UA-cam in this setting
I believe the one recording has already mastered his teaching, if you watch his other videos the guy even has to help coach when Benny's teaching leg checks.
Jean Granola He was challenged many times there just isn’t recordings of his fights. The reason he didn’t professionally is because he didn’t train to win points in a sport he trained to win a fight with no rules (used biting and kicks to the groin etc) Jim Kelly, Dan Inosanto, Jackie Chan, Joe Lewis, Gene Lebell all said he was ridiculously fast & powerful. There is even sparring footage on UA-cam and you can tell he could definitely fight. (Bare in mind it’s a demonstration so he isn’t going 100% either). Here is a video of Joe Lewis (kickboxing & karate champion) describing Bruce Lee. ua-cam.com/video/cUkrwZkwTNU/v-deo.html
@@Shooooooop how convenient. Bruce Lee was a fraud. He never had a recorded fight in his life. If he was alive today he'd be put in the same bracket as Steven seagal. So don't compare Bruce Lee to the coach in the video who was an actual fighter
@@raasputin so the 'actual fighter' was saying really high praise of Bruce's ability yet you still think he couldn't fight? Think the problem lies with you and not Bruce!
Awesome information. This is why he was the champion he was. Unbelievable number of wins, with over whelming number of ko. The man has a boxing background and wrestling background from his family. This is a boxing class as the moment. Which is why it's important have a boxing background from a actual boxer. And, remember each teach, like styles bring new and different information to the tabel.
Well in boxing there a myriad of ways to defend the jab with a counter you can slip a jab and throw a simultaneous jab to the body or you could even parry the jab with the right hand and simultaneously throw a jab while you step in its very effective. Then there's the classic right hand counter
He's a good example of how martial arts has evolved over the past 40 years. When I was a kid, you'd learn a specific art. So you'd learn boxing, Judo, Karate, Wrestling, Kung Fu etc etc and then Muay Thai became popular here in the UK during the late 90's. It's all changed today. Allot of the gyms (the decent ones anyway) teach a wide variety of disciplines now. Most of the old Muay Thai gyms in London have merged into MMA
That's a good technique but it needs to be practised on both sides especially against a right-handed in-coming punch as that is more likely to be coming at you. Most opponents will be throwing right-handed punches but one needs to be prepared for both sides. But as Benny points out, as a reflex movement. You can't be thinking what you will do as you have no time to think but need to act swiftly.
@Trista Fravel I think the main problem with all these drills is the stationary opponent while you throw 3 or 4 moves back, too complicated and unrealistic - a simple slip and hit with the inside hand is plenty and very effective, a bob left with right straight while your opponent throws a power right is one of the most common KO's in boxing.
4 ,5 ,6 does the damage I had a injury that stopped my practice so I will go with memory ...if you are fighting someone who knows what they are doing and hit move 1...3 more ore less they suck . Assume that someone who knows what they are doing will counter everything you know. That is were conditioning and timing comes in.... repeat something while changing sequences . It was taken away from me !.....I miss that(Fighting)......but the best part of combat sports is the need to improvise when you win great ....if in practice learning why you lost is more important........it ......will.....teach...you how to win! (My loss was not due to combat sports my being able to comment is ...bushido....(Maasai Warrior vs Lion) the ability to be a warrior....is required which may or may not be a metaphor either or it is spiritual!

What a great privilege for those students.Totally blown away by the incredible coaching.
I'm equally blown away by how some of them are just phoning it in/not practicing when so many people would LOVE the privilege of working with the guy!

Oss. A rookie question: when you slip a jab, what about throwing your own lead jab (left shoulder fwd) before coming up with the right uppercut?
That's what I've learned in Taekwondo, don't just avoid, counter it. As you said, avoid with a counter/hit.
