This was a terrific and easy tie. Did three this afternoon on a #6 4x long hook: white, rusty olive, and black UV. They came out perfectly and am looking forward to putting them to use on the Shenandoah this spring.
I use monofilament thread. You don't have to change the color of the thread on every fly color change. Also, I leave a gap of around 2mm behind the bead when wrapping the lead-free wire weight. It makes room for the finish wraps, without bulking up the area behind the bead.

Of course, I make my own dubbing loops, instead of wire brushes so...that's why I use mono thread.
