GBO2: Sinanju Stein, Mixed Maps

  • Another Sinanju Stein Video! One of the best 700 Raids that you can own!.
    Here is a recap: When this suit dropped people called it mid compared to banshee. Mostly because it didn't have a melee game on paper, Unicorn was OP, and Phenex was the new meta. All this would change when Unicorn was nerfed.
    Stein has a very basic kit. 1 BR that had 8 shots with 50% stun build on each shot. While it doesn't seem like much, its actually really good as it lets you stun someone in 2 shots, 3 if they have DC1, and 4 shots if they have DC2. (ReZEL C-Type level 2). You have a bazooka that is similar/the same as OG Sinanju's zook. Its ballistic damage so you can get some big numbers with it, as not many do ballistic res builds in 700. you got your expected Vulcan's and Beam saber, the saber has a heavy attack. aaaaand thats it! I wasn't kidding that the kit is very basic, just 4 weapons at a 700 cost suit is very simple. Especially if you compare it to suits like FF Nu, which has a lot for its kit. However, Basic doesn't mean bad. Simple kits are easier to use, but this also means you cant fumble/miss as much as you have very limited options to fall back on.
    Stein also has 2 unique skills. The first is Purge, At the start of each life you have 2 Fuel tanks that give Stein extra boost, in exchange however you dont get Emergency Evasion (Dodge roll). So if your caught with 0 thrust your pretty much dead... in theory. In reality when someone uses the purge ability, Stein will do a back-flip, launching the tanks outwards in front of them. The tanks have a large AOE that also covers Stein's back, and can be sent pretty far out. They heavy stagger whoever gets hit by them, Unless they are boosting or hit a buffer (Kyshatriya's binders), then its just a normal stagger. The I-frames the animation gives is VERY generous too, throughout the entire animation of the purge your in I-frames. So no one can attack you till the animation is over, and when it is over you are further away from them then before. The purge ability is pretty much a get out of Jail free card, used when your in a shitty situation, OR to deal extra damage to a enemy/group. Most use it when they are about to be melee'd.
    The second skill is its biosensor. At 50% HP or less Stein's gains a bio that increase all its melee attack and defenses by 50%. with out the loss of anything else. This makes its heavy attack hit much harder, and under 50% HP you can survive combos from suits that otherwise would of died too. It was the only raid to successfully survive a full pre-nerf Unicorn combo, while gaining bonuses while it happened. This is why you will see Stein pretty much almost delete Generals with its heavy attack when its under 50% HP, if they dont have melee defense. The extra damage goes a long way for it, and lets you take melee hits much easier. THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN YOLO!
    Overall, Stein is a very solid Raid that can actually fight Norn. As long as you dont get too close to it and play smart its not much of an issue for you. the problem is when you are fighting two or more Norn's. Because Norn gains increased damage to raids, it kinda ignores your melee defense bonus, while doing extra damage when you arent in biosensor. I heavily recommend you be careful around them. You might not be one comboed, but you WILL be crying after a punish.
    In the first fight I was surprised just how many times i was alowed to heavy, Seriously. How did i get away with all of those heavies? That's actually wild. The second fight wasnt as easy, but the fact i deleted a Kshatria with my heavy before i died was hilarious. If that doesn't prove that Stein has cracked melee when that 50% is active i dont know what will.
