There were so many little gems in this video, like the horses, the green car, the food and the beautiful station by the sea. Thank you for sharing! By the way, we are even so far on rock, paper, scissors! 😂
My wife is originally from a town on the Joban line and whenever we visit her family, we use the Green Car because of our luggage. It's really a nightmare trying to deal with luggage when commuter trains are super crowded in Japan and you have to stand in the middle. So we always pay the $7 for the Green Car and it's totally worth it - never anybody in it, and you can store bags behind the seats in the last row. (The little mini-cabin at the car ends that's *not* bi-level.) I recommend it to any traveler to Japan taking a line that runs trains like this - Joban is not the only line that has them, the Tokaido line (not Shinkansen) has them too, and probably others I'm forgetting.
Wow! this time it was truly an exclusive episode with carriages and horses in the beginning, and dreamy views from the station window. 😍 Thank you very much for this. 🙏
Thank you for recording that moment outside the station with the horses! It felt like being there, or like when a friend is somewhere telling you everything that's going on. It was special! Thank you! Greetings from 🇲🇽
Fascinating! Every time I see a video on Japan I find out something I never knew about before. Such a beautiful station! I think those double deck Green Cars look wonderful - they look comfortable enough to go long distances on, but they are only on commuter services! Thanks!
Hello from France, toujours un réel plaisir de voir tes vidéos. Cela me fait voyager quelques minutes et c'est une joie. Merci beaucoup pour le voyage. Bises
I watched a lot of these Japanese train/travel videos on UA-cam. As a Canadian I am so impressed a the Japanese train system for their cleanliness, scheduling and convenience. I am so envious, Canadian trains are a pale comparison.
USA here, just found your channel and subbed... first time watching a train channel from Japan.. great content, interesting little differences. 5 stars all the way.. just saw the Imperial Crown Prince and Princess at King Charles III coronation.. ... thanks for the tour.. 🚂🚂👍👍
I remember seeing a cab view UA-cam video of a train on the Jōban Line going north. It was so funny so see a large number of workers getting on the train at stations along the way and then suddenly it emptied almost completely at Hitachi Station.

I was so close to visiting Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture actor and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to work in and visit Japan
Is the whole country immaculately clean? Everywhere you go seems very sanitary and clean. My wife is on the fence about a vacation. These videos are making her want to go to Japan
I understand why it's there, but the highway along the coast is such a view blocker. I lived in San Francisco, California and we had a highway like that along our waterfront. For years people tried to get it torn down. Then we had an earthquake, and it had to be torn down because it was unsafe afterwards. It was actually a blessing in disguise. It really opened up the waterfront and changed it to a spectacular view.
Here in Madrid, Spain some of regional commuter trains (known as _Cercanías)_ are two decked and yes, it's so comfy to move on the area. Is easy to access and the configuration here is 3+2 and in the middle can be also have compartment configuration and go facing passengers. The only thing we do not have is curtains, much less a table to work or eat on the train. We can say that we have the train but I do not remember if we even have a plug (I doubt it is USB) to charge the mobile or laptop. Luckily, the Greater Madrid area covered by _Cercanías_ is much more smaller than Tokyo 😅
Your videos are so therapeutic, feels like I'm also traveling with you .. I find your taste for adventure very entertaining and your good sense of humor amusing .. Can't wait to visit Japan and try that potato pizza chips per your recommendation :) Hope you do a face reveal soon.. Shout out from Chicago :)

Great trip. It's rare to see special events in front of the station like this. Talking about Japan Commuter train, my country actually wants to imported some of used train from Japan due to increasingly Commuter train and some train need upgrade as soon as possible. But it's a bit controversy because from legislation disagree with that and prioritize local train manufacturing which they can make Commuter train as fast as 2025. But anyway back to this video, nice train with double decker train, which today in Japan only founded in conventional line like this, not on Shinkansen line. What a great lunch and big meals, and finally beautiful station at Hitachi.
For those wondering, new ambassadors to Japan need to present their "credentials" to the Emperor. When this happens, the ambassadors are given the choice of travelling to the Imperial Palace by horse drawn carriage or a "modern" vehicle.

That was a lovely train ride ending in one of the prettiest stations I've ever seen. Hitachi residents must be proud of their famous architect.
